Can I fly high?

A journal  page for Erika's theme  of, 'In the sky/In the air
over at...
It is a watercoloured background with  some spray paint and blobs of blues.
Not the colour of the sky here in the UK today, but I can dream.
Nor is the sun shining and sending us warm golden rays.
I used a stencil and modeling paste  for the rays.
The birds are stamped images, some fussy cut.

Tweetie the bird on the ground is wondering if he will ever fly as high as his friends.
It must take a lot of courage for a young bird to spread out its wings and fly for the first time.

Thank you for calling in today, your comments are always appreciated.

A Tag and Diary pages.

Faces is the theme for the challenge over at

I used a random stamped background for my tag coloured in oxide inks.
The main image I used is   from a  freebie set on a magazine. I have to say I bought the magazine for the super variety of free stamps.
The trims came from my stash of ribbons and feathers etc.
....................................................

This is the page I  will be  using in my journal dairy for May

The usual stencil background from me with some
Studio Light cut outs.
Quick and easy  to create , but fun was had as usual.

When I put this page together I had no idea that my blog friend Erika would be hosting this months theme.....'In the sky/In the air at
 Art Journal Journey
I hope my little girl looking for dragonflies, on a warm spring day,
will be acceptable for the theme.
The phrase I added suited my mood today, I was happy in my craft room, on a lovely spring day,
which although it looked bright, it was still very cold.

Thank you for calling in today, you are most welcome here.

What is reality

What is reality...
is a question I  should  ask myself.
Is it touchable, can you see it, is it all imagination. is it happening at this point in time......etc
So when it comes to creating in my journals these days, I have no plans ,  just a lot of paint, stencils and stamps to hand and go with the 'flow' the  reality of  the  messy moment.
Well not moment in this case it has taken me a couple of days to  get to this stage.
There was a lot to catch up on when we came home at the weekend, like washing and ironing.
Journals are fun, time is not an issue and you can escape  the  world around you.
Anyway...
This page is a paint sprayed and splashed  base, with some stamping.
The flower and the ALL&create Frida were fussy cut.
It was good to be reunited with my craft room.
My last page for Wendy's theme of Having Fun ....over at
Art Journal Journey.

Time to say hello to friends over at
 Bleubeard and Elizabeths
where T stands for   Tuesday and  we are made very welcome with a drinks related post.

This was definitely Real
I am sharing more photos with you  this week from our  family holiday travels.
Easter Sunday saw us visiting Lindisfarne along with hundreds of others .
I hope these photos will show you what a lovely  place this was to visit.
We will go back sometime soon, and get to visit the castle, but as its a tidal island,
it does take a bit of planning.

The church service was in progress when we got to this area,
many folk just standing and listening, it was quite moving to hear the organ
and the singing outside the church.

Walking around the fishermen's  area, even the old boats were used as store huts.

I liked the names of these boats... Faithful....Moody.....Sea Witch

Back over to the mainland and time to have lunch.
Its the first time in years I have been given a cup full and an extra jug  of hot water  with  a tea bag to brew my own. It was worth the wait and the  ham sandwich was very tasty as well.

Thank you  for stopping by and I hope you all have a super day.

Queen for the day

How would it be if you were to be Queen for a day.
I think I would  pass on this offer, it must be  really stressful
being in the public eye day after day.
Anyway I have made another fun page for Wendy's  Having Fun theme at

The page began with a colour mop up base, pieces of washi tape
and  stamping. I re- stamped the birds and fussy cut them as they didn't stamp
so good first time on the page.  I also used a pen to elongate the tulip stamp to balance the page.
The words were added in the computer program I use.

Thank you for calling in to see me today.
I hope you have a good weekend.

By the sea

A  page for Wendy's theme ,,, Having fun...over at
The background is  spray paint splodges, with a little random stamping and the images are cut outs.
I took a few things with me in my travelling craft stash.
The phrase doesn't relate to us bathing in  the sea,  we like visiting , being typical tourists,
but not a toe gets wet,  in the sea off our Northumberland coast.  The North Sea is COLD.

We are currently in the caravan and have been enjoying some
rather warm and sunny weather.  Its all set to change as the week goes by,
On Easter Sunday we visited The  Holy Island  of Lindisfarne.

The island is tidal with a road causeway, so you have to time the visit with the tide.

I will share more photos when I get them sorted out.

Thank you for calling in today, your visit is always appreciated.

Hello Friends

Hello Friends who stop by   to see me today.
I will be calling in  at Bleubeard and Elizabeths to share my drinks related post
 because....over there

You can see from the photos that I started off with quite a pale blue colour wash and some crackle paste.
A stencil came next as I am really not happy leaving areas white [ I am trying]

Scraps of papers made the border and the layers for the
girls image I wanted to use.

The stamps were from  Grahics 45 papers

I used stamps for the post marks and the grasses.

The faux stitching was added  with the help of my ruler. After I saw the photo you can see below with  cuppa, I wasn't happy with it  so  I computer generated some  stitching. I am absolutely no use with my sewing machine.  Its years since I have been able to thread the needle and its to old to get a threader gadget .

I have scheduled this post, but  hope I will have internet so I can  catch up with everyone.
Happy T day wishes.
