Back to school for AJJ

When I saw the new theme for  September over at

Back to School
chosen by  Bleubeard and Elizabeth  I had a number of ideas straight away.
The ironing will have  wait until  this spread is posted.

A simple sprayed background, quick and easy.
Two little girls, which I had to stamp again and fussy cut.  Posing for a photo in their new  uniforms, before going off to school.
The images were water coloured, extra shading was crayon and distress ink.
I added the words digitally after taking the photo.

Thank you for calling in to see me, you are most welcome and your comments are always appreciated.

  1. That's the spirit! Leave the ironing and play, you did that right. Thanks for a lovely spread, I think this is another theme where we can all have fun. I'll join you and Gill on the naughty step, spent a lot of my time there for being cheeky!Hug, Valerie

  2. I'm so glad the ironing could wait, because this is a wonderful start to this month, Yvonne. The fussy cut girls look like they are enjoying their new uniforms. That is something we in the states don't often have, unless it's a private or military school. But your little girls look like they are going to enjoy those uniforms nicely. Of course, you can never go wrong if you listen to Dr. Seuss.

  3. I just LOVE this prompt for the month being a teacher all my adult life. Your journal pages are precious, and I liked seeing uniforms. That first day of school...I wonder what the children are thinking. The nuns made us wear uniforms and if the public school system required them we would have lots less discipline problems. Such a sweet piece. genie

  9. A great page Yvonne, I love the sweet little girls ready to start school, a very special time.
The quote reminded me of my Dad who although a carpet layer by trade could turn his hand to mending all sorts of things from radios, TVs and even cars, and also learning how to grow many kinds of fruit veg and flowers by reading how to in the appropriate books.

  13. Well, the kids are back at school in Scotland, France & America so the theme is certainly appropriate- I'm sure a great number would rather still be on holiday though!
