'Through my Window', is the theme for September over at
chosen by Corrine.
Peace and tranquility was the thoughts in my head when creating this page.
I think I am on the outside looking through the window of a ruined church,
whatever it was, it has a calming effect for me.
listen carefully and the bird may be singing.
I can hear them in my garden right now.
Water colour wash as a base then a selection of stencils, using distress inks, Black Soot, Vintage Photo
and Peeled Paint
The raffia scraps etc and die cuts were in the bits box.
Thank you for stopping by to see what I have been making,
I always appreciate the comments you leave.
Wonderful page, reminds me of all those beautiful ruined abbeys and Churches in England where I always loved to visit. Thanks for another great composition for Art Journal Journey, hugs, Valerie

Yvonne, this arched window is magical! I love this journal page! Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's magical, Yvonne - wonderful use of the window stencil, and I love the creepers and vines and ivy clambering over the walls. Lovely how you foregrounded the bird with that hit of red too - a beautiful contemplative page.

ReplyDeleteA beautiful page. A lovely design.
ReplyDeleteI came across an old church that was in ruins while traveling a few years ago, and I swear, your lovely art brought back such a rush of memories and visual images of that church that looked very similar to your painting.
ReplyDeleteSince I don't have a die cutter, Yvonne, I fell in love with the beautiful embellishments you used on the journal page, too. This is a gorgeous entry.
Fabulous page Yvonne, love the splash of colour on the bird. Sue C x
ReplyDeleteA stunning page Yvonne, love that beautiful window, so evocative, great use of muted and bright colours too!!
ReplyDeleteSorry for my lack of visits, but I had an almost 2 month break from blogging, and though I meant to visit, life just kept getting back in the way... Things should get back to normal now...
Your pages are all beautiful Yvonne but this one has a ghostly feel which is stunning.
