A new challenge theme starts today over at the Artists Trading Post Exchange.
' Any Old Iron', was chosen for us by Ruth. There is a picture for inspiration and the theme is based on 'rust', rusty colours like oranges, browns etc Find all the details and see the inspiration picture here.

I chose to go down the Rusty route.
This is my book in its first stages with pieces of embossed card that I stuck on for added texture. Then added more texture using a Tim Holtz stencil

Making progress here. The words were stamped and embossed. Now the colours, Painted first with Paper Artsy Fresco Finish paints, French Roast and Very Berry. Next Distress Stains-Bronze.
Vintage Photo, and Weathered Wood Distress ink, added where I needed some contrast.
Now my version of rusting. I sprinkled Vintage Photo Distress embossing powder, in a few places and got out the heat gun. Now this did blow around a bit, but you will agree, rust is never a well defined shape when you see it.
On the left is a close up of the rusty effect I achieved. on a metal embellishment.
The stamped, embossed image in the opening is from a Stampers Anonymous set. Water coloured before shading with Vintage Photo and Weathered wood distress inks.
Tim Holtz stencils were again used to add texture.
Products used, that are available from the Artists Trading Post were........
Note Book
Distress Inks
Embossing powder
Distress stain
Paper Artsy Fresco paints
Stampers Anonymous Stamps
