Sunday 2nd November at 11 a.m. 2 and 7 p.m.
This tree  so reminds me of the Whomping Willow tree from the Harry Potter books.
I used stencils and Spectrum Noir Aquatints  for the background.

Another abstract canvas, using lots of mediums and paint from the Mixed Media Kit.

Last one, an altered box, using the Mixed Media kit.

Thank you for taking time to visit me  and I hope you get to see some of the programs and these fantastic new stamps and kits.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone.

Sharing journal pages  with you today.
I hope this friendly witch will fly over my house tonight and scare away  any unfriendly spooky creatures.
The background colours are random sprinkles of brusho powder.
The stamps from a Time Holtz set.
The stencil is shaded with lots of Black Soot distress inks
This page also fits the prompt - 'Magic',  for week 42 at Journal 52

A second page for week 37,  at Journal 52, the prompt - Newspaper.
Apart from a bit of random stamping and a skeleton image from  a Tim Holtz set, this page was made using a Waitrose's  free weekly newspaper. I could not miss using these pictures for Halloween.

However you celebrate today, I hope you have a fun time.

'Any old iron', for ATP Exchange

A new challenge theme starts today over at the Artists Trading Post Exchange.
' Any Old Iron',  was chosen for us by Ruth.  There is a picture for inspiration and  the theme is   based on 'rust', rusty colours like oranges, browns etc  Find all the details and see the inspiration picture here.

I chose to go down the Rusty route.
This is my book in its first stages with pieces of embossed card that I stuck on for added texture. Then added more texture using a Tim Holtz stencil

Making progress here.  The words were stamped and embossed. Now the colours,  Painted first with Paper Artsy Fresco Finish paints, French Roast and Very Berry. Next Distress Stains-Bronze.
Vintage Photo, and Weathered Wood  Distress ink, added where I needed some contrast.
Now my version of rusting. I sprinkled Vintage Photo Distress embossing powder, in a few places and got out the heat gun. Now this did blow around a bit, but you will agree, rust is never  a  well defined shape when you see it.

On the left is a close up of the rusty effect I achieved. on a metal embellishment.

The stamped, embossed image in the opening is from a Stampers Anonymous set.  Water coloured before shading  with Vintage Photo and Weathered wood distress inks.
Tim Holtz stencils were  again used to add texture.

Products used, that are available from the Artists Trading Post  were........
Note Book
Distress Inks
 Embossing powder
Distress stain
Paper Artsy Fresco paints
Stampers Anonymous Stamps
Stencils

Thank you for taking time to stop by, I do always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Today's  first  'sneak peek' ,  is an 8 inch canvas.
The Pebeo Mixed Media kit contains  all you need to get you started making mixed media pieces.
As you can see I have gone down the abstract route for this canvas, using lots of products from the kit.
Sheena's shows, are on Create and Craft this weekend  Saturday at 9,  12 and 6 . Sunday at 11, 2 and 7p.m.

Still in an abstract mode,  a fridge magnet,  using paints from the kit

Last peek for today is a card,  the background made using Aquatints and abstract shapes from one of the new sets of stamps to be launched. at the weekend.
Sheena  will be,  as always demonstrating lots of fantastic  techniques and ideas  in her shows at the weekend.
Thank you for taking time to stop by to take a look at what I have been making.

Sneak peek for Sheena -- day 1

A sneak peek of a  Door Hanger I made using  a New Mixed Media  Kit .
Sheena Douglas will be launching this fantastic  Pebeo  kit  on Create and Craft.
Show times Nov. 1st. 9 a.m.  12 and 6 p.m.
Nov. 2nd  11 a.m. 2 and 7 p.m.
The paints from the kit, will become a favourite of mine very quickly.
Thank you for taking time to take a look at this first project.

Colours of Autumn

The new challenge theme over at Try it on Tuesdays is 'Colours of Autumn'.
We hope you will join us and celebrate the awesome  shades we see as autumn draws to a close.
The DT have some super projects to share with you, please pop over to take a look.
This background was sprinkled with brusho's in one corner and dried with a heat gun so they didn't spread around too far.  Next some random stamping with leaves and script [Stampers Anonymous] and a quote that I think is from Inkylicious.
The dried leaf was collected during a walk on our visit to Derbyshire. Then  pressed in my journal book as it was the only suitable place I had in the caravan at the time.

Thank you for stopping by the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Beware

'I can See Clearly', is the new Challenge over at Sugar Creek Hollow.

I think I can explain this best by showing you what I added.
The piece you make  must include Something Clear.
I stamped some grasses on to heat resistant acetate and embossed them in gold.
This panel is the see though layer, to my main image, which is from  the G45 An Eerie Tale pad.
Extra shading was Spiced Marmalade and  a little Vintage Photo.

Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making.
Thank you for stopping by to see me, the comments you leave are always appreciated.

Journal 52-- Time

Still a long way behind with my Journal 52 pages.
This one is for the topic given to us for week 35 , the prompt was 'Time'.
Another mopped up brusho page, together with some random stamping. The clock was stencilled using a die cut. I think the owl is an Indigo Blu stamp. A bit of a mixed up page, but  I enjoyed putting it together and going with the flow.

'The Weather Forecast', this could be snow, rain etc.
Please pop over to see what we all made and get the details.
We like to  see stamping as your focus.
I used a leafy embossed layer on the base card.
Then the image stamped twice so I could fussy cut out the couple walking up the lane.
This was a Sheena Douglas image, which I water coloured.
The top layer is acetate, randomly stamped  using  a raindrops stamp from Deep Red.
Extra shading  was Vintage Photo distress inks.

Witching Time

Halloween is our second challenge theme at  the Artists Trading Post Exchange.
Please pop over and see what we all made, and read  the  challenge details.
I loved making this 8 inch canvas, which will be hung in my porch on Halloween night.

On the left you can see how it looked  before I started adding extra shadings.. The base was painted with  Fresco acrylics and gesso.
Then I used a Clarity stencil for the houses, shaded with Weathered Wood and Black soot distress inks.
The stencil is Tim Holtz's  new Gothic one, using Texture paste  for added depth.
The black cat was a die cut, using a little gold embossing powder.

Next the stamping of the words, skulls, spider and the witches. All from a Stampers Anonymous set.
I did fussy cut the witch a couple of times to add a bit depth.  I think they look like they are having a bit of a race.

Products used  available from the Artists Trading Post were......
Stencils-- Clarity and Tim Holtz
Ranger Texture Paste

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, the comments you leave are always appreciated.
We do hope you will join us for Halloween At the ATP Exchange

Halloween will soon be here time to let the witches and wizards out to fly the night skies.
I used Spectrum Noir Aquatints to colour the base layer. Next came old book paper and a piece of packaging . The cat and the witch are die cuts and the words, I think are from a Chocolate Baroque set.
Please pop over for all the details
We hope you will join the fun and celebrate Halloween.

One Two Three for SCH

The new theme at Sugar Creek Hollow is, ,One, Two, Three'.
We are to use...
1 Vintage image,  2 Patterned papers and 3 Types of embellishment.
My framed vintage photo is a 'Found Relative from  a Tim Holtz set. The two papers are Graphics 45 and my three embellishments are Lace, flowers and feathers.
Our style is vintage /shabby chic, please pop over to see what we have all been making and get all the details.
Once I found all the elements I wanted to use on this card, I have to say it flew together. It just needed a bit of extra shading with Distress inks, Black soot and Spiced marmalade and of course some Vintage photo around the frame.

Thank you for taking time to stop by the comments you leave me are always appreciated.

Deep in the Forest

This months theme at Art Journal Journey is  'Deep in the Forest'.
As it is the month of Halloween, what else could I think of but  those  little creatures that are ready to scare unsuspecting travelers, as they walk through the trees.
The background was a blotted page, mop ups from a brusho  experiment that went wrong.
Its a Clarity stencil, shaded with Black Soot distress ink.
The raven is an Alterations die cut  with a bit of embossing in gold.
The corner with the  hiding creature and the words
are all stamps from Chocolate Baroque.

Thank you for taking time to stop by, the comments you leave me are always appreciated.

Mans best friend-- week 2

There is still another week to run for our Animals challenge theme at Try it on Tuesdays.
I am sharing this Journal page, that I made at the same time as my DT card for  last week.
Joanna Sheene stamps for the dog, but a random selection  on the background.
The colours on the background were mop ups  and a spot or two of brusho.

I am so behind showing you and catching up on my Journal 52 pages.
I managed a few while I was away , but didn't have all the images I wanted to use, so I guess that's what will be keeping me busy in my,  'me, ' time   these coming weeks
This was  Week 34 and the prompt was Alphabets

Stencils for the background, some writing, distress inks to colour and some Sheena Douglas images, were used to make this page.

We are now settled back home again, no more caravan trips this winter , so hopefully more time to visit you all more regularly.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I do always appreciate your comments

Dragonflies

Its 'Anything Goes' for our next theme over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
This  one layer card was made using  Brusho's for the background.. This time I brushed the whole surface with plain water and sprinkled the powder and just watched it spread. I only used one colour, green. but as you can see the shades that show  are yellow and blue.  If I'd added more and brushed it over I would have got the green as advertised on the pot, this is such a clever item to use.
All the stamps are Stamper Anonymous and the extra shading is Spiced Marmalade distress inks.

Please pop over to see what we have all been making . Get all the details ane find out about the generous prize on offer from our regular sponsor. Remember stamping should feature on your entries.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look. The comments you leave are always aprreciated.

Sneek Peek Day 3

Another 'sneek peek, ' today using Sheena Douglas's new stamps and those fantastic new Spectrum Noir Aquatints.  The main image area  is overlaid with acetate. I stamped the tree line stamp and embossed it on the acetate and off set it a little from the background, to give a bit of a shadow effect.
Sheens's shows on Saturday are at 9 a.m.  12 and 6 p.m. on Create and Craft.

Sneek Peek day 2

Day 2's  'sneek peek' showing you another version that I made using Sheena Douglas's new stamps and  the exciting new Spectrum Noir Aquatints. So far I have only used mine  for backgrounds, but the list of their uses, shared by  the  DT is getting longer and longer. Guess I know where I will be spending many happy hours, trying them out,  when I get back home again.
I hope you will tune into see Sheena on  Create and Craft, Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
