Enjoy the Journey

Over at A Vintage Journey   the new Challenge theme  , is  to--' Use every stamp from a set'.

Phew this isn't normally a problem for me, but I hope they will accept  9 from the 10 on this set. There is only so much you can put on a tag and I completely forgot about the ticket . Some are swallowed  up in the background..  As you can see my inspiration came from this set of Tim Holtz stamps. The tag base  had been layered  using a few stencils and coloured with distress inks. Half the tag was embossed with a time related  embossing folder.
I used gilding wax to highlight this area.
Vintage photo, Spiced Marmalade and Shabby Shutters were the colours of distress inks  used.

I will also be  joining the  challenge over at Tag Along  the  latest theme is 'Quotes'.

Thank you for stopping by, i do so appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Sending you flowers

It was my turn to choose the theme for this challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
My choice is 'Flowers'.
We ask that the main focus of your  entry is  a stamped image. Flonzcraft is our regular sponsor, so please pop over for all the details and see what my design team sisters have been making.
The base of the card was embossed with a rose folder [Embossalicious] then slightly shaded with Victorian Velvet and Shabby shutters  distress ink. Next a piece of scrap corrugated card which had been painted with acrylics, and was just asking to be used and not put in the bin. The layer behind the image is muslin.
The main image on this card is an Inkylicious stamp, shaded again with Victorian velvet and then the rose coloured with pencils. The trimmings were from my stash.

Thank you all for taking time to call by, your comments are always appreciated.

Journal 52- Nature Inspired

Another week has flown by and here is my take  for  this weeks prompt over at Journal  52-- week 25
which was 'Nature Inspired'.  I have been unable to spend much time crafting this week as we having some work done inside the house, so this was a good relaxing make.
The base if you look closely is the house stencil again.
I never fail to be amazed where ' daisies' can take root. They sure have nature on their side, and spring up in all the little nooks and cracks where we realy don't want them to be.
So you could say I am inspired by the  flowers many call weeds, they can be just as beautiful as the ones we would see in our garden or florists shop.
The  flowers are all stamped images [Paper Artsy-Joffy], some fussy cut. All were coloured with paints, the other shading is distressed inks and chalks.
I used the Doily mask and a little clear paste for some texture, then decided to rub over some guiding wax.

Its good to be able to visit you again, as my dashboard was readable tonight.
Thank you for stopping by, I do so appreciate the comments you leave.

Thanks for being there.

Tags  Anywhere -or- Just a Tag is the new challenge theme at Try it on Tuesdays.
Please pop over and see what we all made and interpreted this theme, we are looking forward to seeing your tags as well.

I have used graphics 45 papers for this card together with a selection of trimmings.
The extra shading is Vintage Photo distress ink.
I originally began by making  a couple of tags, then decided to add them to a
 ' just because card'.
Its good to give or send a card to friends , just to say thank you for being there.

Thank you for taking time to stop by, I always appreciate your comments.
Like many others in Blogland I am having issues with my dashboard,
I will be trying to visit you, but it takes  a little longer .

Sunflowers

'Flowers' , is the new theme starting today over at Sugar Creek Hollow and for this challenge we have a store voucher for you to win offered by Doodle Pantry, so please pop over for all the details and see what we all made using the wonderful digi stamps we were able to choose from our sponsor.
I chose the Sunflower set, as it so reminds me of the colours and  warmth of summer.

After printing the image a few times in the sizes that I wanted to use, some were fussy cut for layering. The central flower was covered with glossy accents. I added a touch of Icicle stickles to them, hoping it would look like they had the morning dew still on them. The die cut layers are Spellbinders, other items came from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, i do so appreciate the comments you leave.

Put kettle on Nellie

Art Journal Journey's  theme is Houses, this is my second page using the same house stencil with grunge paste for a bit of texture. . I used an inked, stamped and stenciled background, using distress inks. I had this stamp of the Elephant  and the tune of  -''Nellie the Elephant'', packing her trunk and going back to the jungle -buzzing in my head. So the twist to my story is that this is the Rajah , trumpeting to Nellie, in the street where they live to, 'Put the Kettle On' as company is coming  from the jungle for tea.. Can you picture the scene, I can.

Journal 52 -- week 24 -Courage

Our Prompt for this week at Journal 52 is Courage
For me I thought straight away of those men and women in all our armed services, whose courage saves many lives throughout our world.
We should not judge the rights or wrongs, of any conflict,
but be thankful that there are people  of courage,
willing to serve and protect their own countries.

Thank you for taking time to stop by, the comments you leave are much appreciated.

Pink, pink and more pink.

Well pink is not a colour I am happy using, but it seems to be very popular at the moment,
so before I got down to making some future D.T. projects,
I just had to have a play.

I enjoy joining in the Tag Along challenges when I can and the current theme is  ' Use Pink'.
This tag was mainly made with Graphics 45 papers,  trimmings and a word stamp.

So this was just the beginning of my adventure into the world of  'Pink'.
I have noticed friends in blogland using their tags by adding them to cards or pages etc.
Thank you for the tip folk and I hope you don't mind me using it.
This is how I used  my tag--

I dry embossed the base card, then lightly coloured it with Victorian velvet distress ink.
Next up was a torn piece of a pretty patterned paper, some lacy, punched, paper strips and a few flowers.

I will be sharing my pink fest at these challenges--
Pretty in Pink-- at Make my Monday
Flower Garden---at  In the Pink
Shabby Chic ---at The Kraft Journal

Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Your comments are always appreciated

For this card I added a few layers and trimmings , before adding my main bird image, all found lurking on my cluttered desk. This image is from Inkylicious , I used water colours with extra shading using distress ink, mainly Vintage photo with a touch of  Shabby shutters.

I will also be joining -
'The Bird Challenge at Thats Crafty Challenges

Whats your passion?

Journal 52 week 23 and our prompt was Passion with the added piece asking us What we were passionate about. Well besides my family,  my immediate answer is crafting and in particular getting inky, messy and having a great time. For me this an escape to a different world, no rules, no restraints, just go with the flow.
This journal page started off, with a few glued on pieces from an old book and was random stamped with leaves. Colour washed  with Sky and Vintage Lace Frescao paints.  I then added a bit of stenciling ,  next up was a piece of corrugated card, before sptitzing the page  with Dylusions white linen.

All the stamps   used are from sets by Stampers Anonymous.
The small butterflies were heat embossed then water coloured.
The dragon fly after being stamped on the page was stamped  again  then fussy cut it before water colouring. To highlight the stencil I did use some Olive bronze, Treasure Gold, wax. A little distress ink Weathered wood around the edges and I decided to stop.

The current challenge page for CC3 challenge 4 over at Linda Ledbetters, is for us to use Page 49 in the Compendium of Curiosities book as our guide. As I knew I was entering this challenge I did go into details about how I did part of the page. bet you all can guess which bit.

The new challenge over at A Vintage Journey challenge 8  is -- Wings and Things. where they hope we will be inspired by Tim Holtz. I have to say yes I was big style, with this page, it so reflects how he has inspired me to use his products in ways that  I would never thought possible when I began my personal journey many years ago.

Thank you for stopping by. I always appreciate the comments you leave me.

Feathers and wings

I made these  pieces  just before we left Derbyshire for home , I had read that over at
Moo Mania and More that the current theme  was Feathers.

The site we were staying with the caravan was in the old walled garden on the Chatsworth Estate, with  families of ducks, wandering about seeking bread from folk who would feed them. Feathers could be found quite easily on the ground, but as we had so much rain, most you couldn't use.
The layers are stamped with Stampers Anonymous images and the bird stencil is a Dina Wakley one.

This past  weeks theme at Tag Along was  Wings, I am to late to join in but I enjoyed making this tag.

I used scraps that I keep in a small  portable box for this tag and a little distress ink for shading.

Thank you for stopping by, the comments you leave me are always appreciated.

One for the Boys at TioT's

The theme at Try it on Tuesdays  is called --'One for the Boys'.
Starting with baby boys,   right through the ages groups to the older men in your life.
Pop over for all the details and see that we have all been making.

This tag will be used on a gift for  a friend.
The base was embossed before getting the Vintage photo treatment. I found a scrap of corrugated paper and added it behind the collaged -stamped main focal piece.  All the stamps used were from Stampers Anonymous.

I was using the Grunge paste and stencils on another project, 'so waste not want not', as my gran would have said I used the remains on the bottom and corner of the tag.
As you can see Tim Holtz, products and inspiration feature with this tag, I love the way he adds textures using stencils and pastes.
It seems ages since I made this D.T. piece thank goodness for being able to do draft posts etc. Today  after taking care of the washing and ironing I will be re-united with my craft room, which will seem large after  a small cupboard in the caravan.
By coincidence this tag will be ideal for a few other challenges
Country View Challenges - Only Men Allowed
Thats Crafty Challenges - Its all about Texture
The Kraft Journal -Just for Him
Also at a Vintage Journey --No 7 Get some Texture.
I recently was a winner over there and sadly had to miss out their invitation to be on a guest winner blogpost  as I was away from home at the time.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I always appreciate the comments you leave.

Here comes the Bride. for SCH

We have a lovely romantic theme this time at Sugar Creek Hollow ...
 'Here Comes the Bride'.
I stamped up my bride image using Potting Soil Archival ink ans simply shaded it with Vintage photo and Antique linen  distress inks. Using water colours for the skin tones,  flowers in her hair and on the dress.
A few layers of papers, lace and flowers  from the stash  complete my take on this theme .
Please pop over and see what we all made and remember we like to see a vintage/shabby  chic style.
Another scheduled post from me again, as we are still away from home.
Thank you for taking time to call and see me, your comments are always appreciated.

Our street

The images were from the  weekend papers again,  these are more my kind of girls, fighting over the dolls with big sister about to sort them out.
Background  made  using a number of stencils including a new one of the houses [Clarity] and distress inks.
I was lucky to visit the Artists Trading Post whilst here in Derbyshire, quite a number of new goodies just happened to fall into my basket.

Have just read that  the theme this month at Art Journal Journey is Houses/homes, so before I change my mind I will be adding this page, I am in awe of the fantastic artwork over there. I hope this will be okay.

Showing  you  this page  as well as it's a girlie type image and not my usual style  of stamp., but I did enjoy colouring it in with pencils  and I have a few birthday cards to make when I get home, so it will be very useful.
.

We have enjoyed some lovely sun today, but its not going to last, back to wet and thunder storms tomorrow.
I will have my journal book nearly full at this rate.
Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate the comments you leave me.

New Vegetarian

Another random stencilled background on this page, which is a collage of found images from the colour magazines  in last weekends papers.

My  main search was for items I could use for this weeks Journal 52 prompt.
Week 22 --Travelling--a page to take you on an adventure.
this is what I came up with

Images in our imagination

Sharing more journal pages today. The background was a patterned paper before being,  random stamped, stencilled, and generally inked.

This is the opposite page, the main images are from Dina Wakley .
I would say the first photo is the best colour representation, but dull wet weather in caravans does nothing for the quality of the photographs.
I am back to scheduled posts for a while, thank you for stopping by. Your comments are always appreciated and I look forward to visiting you all soon.

Keep Calm....................

What do you do on wet days in a field full of mud with  the noise and roar of Landrover engines ringing in your ears..
Get out the journal and what supplies you have to hand  and get inky.
Well that was me last week, so over my next few posts I will be sharing a few pages with you, internet, permitting.

This page from my journal, which I had real fun with. It was realy to try out these  new Sheena Douglas stamps  I just loved the tiger stamp and those words will be just right for me when I try to add too much to my projects. I never did do Less is More very well, even in the caravan.

I have been trying to catch up with you all, but for some reason I cannot get to leaving comments with you,
gremlins ???? or just a slow poor connection.
Thank you for stopping by I have realy appreciated the comments you have left for me.

Like Clockwork for FSC

'Like Clockwork',    is the new theme at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
Please pop over for all the details and see how you could win a generous prize from our regular sponsor Flonzcraft. As always rubber stamping must be the main focus of what you make.
I used embossing folders for the base of this card and one of the layers.
The stamp of the large clock face I have had a long while, the packaging no longer exists, so it cannot be named. The main image is a Crafty Individuals stamp, this was coloured with pencils.
All the other shading is Vintage photo, tea dye and black soot distress inks.
I did splash the base card with water to give it a different look.

Thank you for stopping by, the comments you leave are always appreciated.
