Mail Time

I have made this easel  card to look like a letter rack, so it fits the new theme over at
Fashionable Stamping Challenges which is 'Mail Time.'  Please pop over for all the details and see what my design team sisters have been making.

The stamps I used  are from Kaisercraft-the post script collage, Inkadinkado -the post card and a favorite script stamp.
The base layer is a Kraft card. Shading is the trusty Vintage Photo and Tea dye distress ink.

Thank you for stopping by to take  look, I always appreciate your comments

Feeling Blue

A new challenge begins today over at Sugar Creek Hollow. This time as well as keeping to our Vintage/Shabby Chic style we had to use 'The Colours of our Countries Flag'.
So the new theme is to- Make a card featuring the colours seen on your Country's flag.
Please pop over to see what we have all been making and meet out Guest Designer Sanja .

You will probably have guessed by now that I live in the U.K.
Red  [Victorian Velvet distress ink], white [papers]  and blue [Denim Adirondak], were the colours I used.
The trimmings were the easy part on this card, it was which stamped image I wanted to use that  caused me bother. Would it  look okay stamped out in blue, with minimum  colouring added.?  I  did think she looked   a bit pale hence the slight shading with the D.I.
The stamp I used  was one  from Inkadinkado.

Thank you for stopping by, I do appreciate your comments.

B is for birds

B is the new letter for the Alpha Challenge over at the Craft Barn, I just had to pick out the word 'bird'.
I think next time I will have to highlight my chosen word, rather than frame it in some way, as it seems to have blended into my background this time.

As often happens with me, I got a bit carried away with my base stencils and distress inks and it ended up a bit of a wild garden area, just the right habitat for the birds.
The pair of birds in an Inkylicious stamp, the manic owl  perched on his house is another  Jofy stamp as is the word stamp, which says-
a bird does not sing because it has an answer
it sings because it has a song.

Thank you for taking time to stop by and take a look, I always appreciate your comments.

Images from the Past

This sweet little girl image  was obtained from our sponsor Vintage Image Craft, for the new Challenge that begins today over at the Cheerful Stamp Pad. Called-  'From the Past'.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have been making.
The image was already coloured so I softened and blurred  the edges, added a few border layers using My Craft Studio craft program.
The extra additions came from my stash to add to the vintage look of the card.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I do appreciate the comments you leave.

Look for the flowers.

These are my Journal pages for the letter 'F' at the Craft Barn. As you will guess I am catching up slowly on the ones I have missed doing. One more to go 'V', then I will be up to date.
No doubt in my mind what word to choose for this letter, 'Flower'.
As if I needed an excuse to use my new Jofy stamps from Paper Artsy, which recently found their way into my shopping basket, while visiting the new shop.
If you are ever in Derbyshire or on line, The Artists Trading Post is full of exciting goodies for Crafters.
Back to my pages, The background is shaded  with distress inks and pans pastels.
On the left page I used a Studio 490 stencil, again distress inks to colour, mustard seed, forest moss and spiced marmalade.
The stamped images were coloured with water colour pencils.
The quote reads-
There are always flowers for those who want to see them.

Thank you for stopping by, your comments are always appreciated.

Angels and Demons

Angels and Demons is the latest theme we are challenging you with over at Try it on Tuesdays.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have been making.
On my journal page a couple of lovely ladies are saying 'Welcome to our World.'.  They are standing on top of a couple of mushrooms to get a better view of the flowers in their garden.
The flower images are some of my new  Jofy stamps from Paper Artsy, coloured with distress inks and watercolour pencils. The two beauties are images that our sponsor   Dilly Bean Stamps kindly sent us to use.
The background to the pages was made using a variety of masks including one with a hand, and pale greens  shades to colour.

The card on the right  is  made using elements from Christine Haworth's Angel Whispers CD. and is my take on the Angels part of our challenge at TioT's.

Thank you all for stopping by, I realy appreciate the comments you leave.

A Steampunk dream

A Steampunk dream is the name of this  project,  because I couldn't stop adding things after I thought I had finished. hence the feathers,  the little wooden bird and the ticket.
The base layers are all Graphics 45 papers, some distressed around the edges with the old blunt scissors.
The trusty Vintage Photo distress ink  was used for further aging.

I stamped the wooden hands  with a Script stamp.
The clock is rubbed with a light covering of gilding wax.
All the wooden pieces are from Crafty-emblies

This is my piece for the new Challenge starting today  over at
 Crafty Cardmakers  which is 'Steampunk'.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making.
We have two generous sponsors this time
The Stamp Man and  Di's Digi Downloads.

Thank you all for taking the time to stop by, I realy appreciate your comments

Cup Cakes

Two more cards for cake lovers and a reminder that there is another week to go for the  'You're Sweet challenge at the Cheerful Stamp Pad.  These delicious looking 'cup cakes' are images  that our sponsor
Far Far Hill allowed us to use.
Both these cards were made in a computer  program , My Craft Studio.
I think I enjoyed not getting inky and messy,  but still managed to create a mess when I spillt a pot of glitter
over the desk whilst highlighting the leaf on the first card.

Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate your comments.

Art for ever

Show us ' Something New',  is the next Challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
This could be a new stamp or a new technique.  Please pop over and see what my D.T. sisters have been making and read about the super prize offered by our sponsor Flonzcraft.

When we were in Yorkshire, back in March and before we were snowed in, I was able to visit Art From The Heart.  Imaging my surprise and delight to meet  the amazing Dina Wakley. She spotted these two stamps in my shopping basket and introduced herself.
I must take a trip to the naughty step as these have not been inked until I made these two tags., they  fit the theme of 'Something New'.
As they are large tags 4 x 8 inches, they have been converted into a pair of hangings.
I used Timber Brown to stamp them up, the background is stamped script before shading with Victorian Velvet, Shabby Shutters and Vintage Photo.

The die cut flowers and trimmings were all from my stash.

Dina  kindly signed the packaging of the stamps, so I have a lasting memory of meeting her.

Thank you all for stopping by to take a look. I always appreciate you calling.

Love

'Mixed Media ', is the new challenge beginning today at Sugar Creek Hollow
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making. Remember we like to see a vintage/shabby chic style  on your entries.  I have to say I realy enjoyed making this hanging and hope I won't bore you with too many details of how it was made.

As you can see the base was covered with scraps of torn book pages, a super messy job, especially round those letters. The shading was distress ink  my favourite  Vintage Photo and Tumbled glass
Next came the stamping. I used a selection of Indigo Blu stamps. The poppies were painted with Pebeo Prisme paints, there are some tiny seed beads in the center  of the flower heads.
Butterflies were stamped on to acetate before colouring , these have not shown so well on the photographs.

The small chipboard heart was painted with acrylics before covering with Crackle glaze. I rubbed over the cracks with gilding wax when it finally dried out.  Then  adding the sweet image  which  was framed using embossing  powder with a  random sprinkling of   Frantage Aged Gold added.

Thank you all for stopping by, I realy appreciate all your comments.

U is for Umbrella

' U',  is the new letter to use for the Alpha Challenge over at the Craft Barn.
I think like many folk I may have used the word Umbrella. There was not much choice in my dictionary that suited the craft items I own.
So, out comes Mr Umbrella Man yet again. Together with some Spellbinders and Memory box die cuts , the trusty Vintage Photo distress  ink  pad , these are  the pages I ended up with.
The background is a variety of masks, including one with snowflakes, again I used distress inks Broken China and Tumbles Glass.
The words are from a Sheena Douglas Stamp set and not so clear with the inks smudged over them read-
Into every life a little Rain must fall,
Call me any time you need an umbrella.

Thank you all for stopping by to take a look, your comments are always appreciated.

Don't eat the daisies.

A  C.A.S .card from me today.  You can imagine  how out of my comfort zone this style is for me, but I realy had to try out a new set of stamps I bought while away on holiday.  Jofy  from Paper Artsy.
It took longer deciding which of my water colour pencils to use to colour the image,  than to stamp it up.
This card I hope will fit the new Challenge  at Make My Monday which is C.A.S.Flowers.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, your comments are always appreciated.

Hope your day is a treat.

This card is definitely for a cake lover.
It was easily made using some ready made toppers from my stash. I think they are from Hunkydory.
Note to self that I must use up more of these toppers etc, my box of this sort of stuff is full, unused and ever so slightly pushed out of sight,  as I get hands on and messy experimenting with inks, new techniques and ideas.

The  Challenge 62  over at The Cheerful StampPad is,  'You're Sweet'.  We would like to see 'desserts/cupcakes' on your entries. Please pop over for all the details and  see what we have been making .
There is a super prize to be won  from our sponsor Far Far Hill

I would also like to say hello and welcome to my new followers, thank you for  joining me on my crafty journey. I will stop by and see you soon.

Thank you all for your comments they  are always appreciated.

You're a Hoot

I will have to explain that the new challenge at   Try it on Tuesdays is called,  'For the man in your Life',  it's Fathers Day soon and  and we all have cards for men to make, so we are asking that your entry suitable for the menfolk. Please pop over to TioT's for all the details.
The owl image is a digi stamp provided by our  sponsor for June Dilly Bean Stamps .

I got the idea for this design from the cover picture on a set of stamps by Joanna Sheene.
The words came from this set as well.
The leafy background  is embossed and shaded with a light covering of Peeled paint distress ink.
I drew the branch, so don't look too closely.
The owls  and branch were water coloured.

This is my last scheduled post, will be back home from caravan land at the weekend, when I look forward  to catching up on all your posts I have missed, Think I best have a pot of coffee not a cup close by.

Thank you for stopping by, your comments are always appreciated.

Shelter from the rain.

This card was made for the new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers. The theme is Fathers day.
My Dad was always there for me, I am sure  you all have memories, maybe not a Dad but some one you could turn to for a little comfort and love.
For this card I used a variety of papers that blended well together . The die cut Umbrella Man needs no introduction, as many of us use this on our projects. The stamped wording is  from a Sheena Douglas set.

Please pop over here for all the details  and see what we have all been making.
The challenge sponsors this time are The Paper Shelter and Woodware

Thank you for stopping by, your comments are always appreciated.

Inspire Yourself.

'Tag Time' is the theme of the new challenge over at  at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
My D.T. sisters have been making some fantastic tags to inspire you, please pop over here for all the details.
Our generous sponsor is Flonzcraft

The base of the tag is cut from a sheet that I had previously random stamped, and shaded with Tea dye distress ink. I would be guessing to name the maker of the stamped image. This is because I store my  acrylic stamps in a folder and over time makers details get forgotten.
She is painted with water colours  and I added a couple of flowers to her hair.
All the rest of the  trimmings came from  my stash.

Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate your comments.

Fathers Day

'Fathers Day', is the new challenge theme at Sugar Creek Hollow.
The card I made will be used as a Birthday card,  I took the route of making a masculine  card,  sadly my Dad is no longer with us.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making.
I used  Kraft card for the base layer, with extra shading round the edges  with Walnut stain distress ink.
The embossed layer was rubbed over with an old ink pad to colour the raised details.
Inkylicious is the maker of the stamp I used for my main image. After taking the blunt scissors round the edges, I shaded it with Vintage photo distress ink.

This is another scheduled post, I will be catching up with you all soon.
Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate your comments.
