Hand made flowers

Floral or Hand made Flowers is our new challenge over at
Fashionable  stamping Challenges this week.

My DT sisters have been making some fabulous examples, so please pop over to take a look and get all the details.
I hope you will join us this time, remember we like to see Stamping on your entry to the challenge.

As some of you already know, I love using my Loom to make flowers, so once again is the result. This time I added a base  flower shape then topped it with a die cut rose. All the stamps used are by Indigo Blu, the sentiment stamped on to a Spellbinders die cut using Coffee Archival ink.
I used Victorian Velvet distress ink for all the shading.

Bundle of Fairy Love

This weeks challenge over at Sugar Creek Hollow is' Fairies and Angels'.
As always we like your entries to be in a Vintage/Shabby Chic style.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making.

Our sponsor this week is  A Day for Daisies,
I used  one of their beautiful digi images called  'Bundle of Fairy Love', on my card.

The background layering are papers from Graphics 45 Little Darlings, the tags also came from this selection.
The colouring of the image is watercolours
I used  Wild honey distress ink to lightly soften the edges of the Nesties shapes.

As you read this I will once again be in the caravan  at an off-road Landrover event, hoping the wellies can remain in the cupboard this time. So forgive me if I cannot visit you all, I will catch up next week.

50 Shades of Pink

Found a new Challenge blog this week called In the Pink
Their very first Challenge is 50 shades of Pink.
Now this is a colour I am not comfortable using, so this was a challenge for me.
However I think I might just be changing my mind in future.
The layers are Kanban cardstock, the remains of an assorted pack that I kept pushing to the bottom of the pile because it was pink
.To colour the webbing, I used Victorian velvet distress ink to lightly  shade it.
The image is a Hobby Art stamp, embossed with pink powder and coloured with watercolour paints.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look.
I always appreciate your comments.

Fashion tag

On my browse around everyone's fantastic blogs, I often notice a challenge I would like to enter.  Most times, the deadline dates pass by before I get round to it. However, I was determined to try and  enter  the Fashion Challenge over at The Craft-Room.
The collage tag I have made has an embossed base layer, this had been stamped, but by the time I sprayed it with mica, they have nearly disappeared. I added a Tim Holtz die cut and some advertising  poster stamps from Indigo Blu. Other stamps used are by Darkroom Door and Stampers Anonymous.
The shading is Tea Dye distress ink.

I will also enter the  'Tag you're It'  challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

Follow that Sketch

We are asking you to follow a 'Sketch',  for our new Challenge over at Try it on Tuesdays.
Please pop over to get all the details and see what we have all been making.
I hope you will join us again this time. We were thrilled with the fantastic entries in our last challenge.

My take on the sketch was to use a variety of papers for the layers, including some from Kanban
The image is from a Jem's Designs Steampunk CD.
Ribbons and flowers are always one of my favourite card trimmings.
Taking this photo on one of our rare sunny days was difficult as the gold layers, leaves etc reflected the light, but I think you will be able to see how it turned out.

Thank you for stopping by, I realy appreciate your comments

When I saw this theme, I had a number of ideas, cycles, cars, balloons, but eventually decided on this old bus.
The stamp of the bus,  is from the transport Collection by Stamps Away. The ticket is a Stampers Anonymous stamp. Papers came from my stash.
One of the layers is embossed with clocks, you can just about see them, buses  never seem to be on time where I live.
All the colouring is Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain distress ink.

Mona

My intentions yesterday  were to tidy the craft desk. Well  this idea  went out the window quite easily when I   picked up my play journal,  found an unused coloured page that had been    masked  and sprayed with ink.  It also looked like I had blotted a few stamps on it as well. A pile of pre stamped images under a box, from previous projects, just had to be used.
. I remembered that the new Challenge over at Artful  Times was Mona Lisa.

A quick search soon found my Mona stamp, so here is the resulting collage pages.
I did add a bit of sparkle for the cake frosting.
Can you see she has her eye on those cakes.

On the left she is looking a bit green, to much cream no doubt..
Background sprayed with Dylusions Fresh Lime ink, the Rose was stamped with Mowed Lawn distress ink then the flowers were painted  over with glossy accents. Mona is a stamp from Hero Arts, I cannot remember when it was last used.
Quick update, I can now see the surface of my desk, so I did make some progress.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I always appreciate your comments.

Well we have had our break and are back with out new challenge.

Our sponsors this time are -
Di's Digi Downloads offering a store voucher for the challenge winner.

Hobby Art offering two fabulous stamp sets.

I have made a  Postcard collage. The background scene is a scene from the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics. This was inspiring to watch as it showed the Olympic rings being forged, then raised up over the stadium.
The other additions came from a Debbie Moore CD  together with some  free  images I found on the internet.
Notice the umbrella, just in case it rains!
Vintage photo was once again the distress ink I reached out to add extra shading.
I will be also entering  Challenge 51  at Craft Your Days Away  'Olympic Dreams'.

Thank you for stopping by I realy appreciate your comments

Magic Moment?

Something completely  different from me today. I had such fun making this tag for the
Stampotique Designers challenge the theme  is Buttons and Birds.
These two characters are sharing a rare moment of togetherness, well maybe that's not possible, but this pair are allowed to have dreams. Maybe a kiss would turn him into her Prince Charming?
The base layer was made using a button mask, with Dylusions Crushed grape spray ink and some of the new Summer Colours distress inks.
Stamps are from Stampotique, Dylusions [words] and the Octopode Factory [bird].
All the colouring is watercolours, she has tiny heart buttons for her hands.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

Something old, Something new.

'Something Old, Something New', is our new Challenge this week over  at Sugar Creek Hollow.
Are you curious yet? We would like you to use an 'old'  item from your stash, also a 'new', item  and  tell us what  you used.
Make something in a Shabby Chic/Vintage style and come and join our challenge.
Please pop over and see what we have all been making and get all the details.

This first picture is my glimpse of new stash..  We were in Melrose a few days ago and I found this super shop selling materials, wool, lace and ribbons. How could I pass by this gem of a shop, it was the nearest to a craft shop I had seen in weeks.

Here is the card I made, adding some of  the  'new' lace and pretty embroidered flowers.
The stamp is 'old' from [I think] Queens Dresser Drawers, shaded with Antique Linen Distress inks, it is layered onto some material and assorted paper layers. Bundled Sage is the other distress ink I used  on the edges of the torn paper.
I will be using this card for a friends Anniversary .

Challenges also entered-
Fussy and Fancy  -Vintage with Distressing and Lace.
The Stampman Challenge  - Anything goes/Celebrations.
Diva's by Design - Challenge 46 Flowers

Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate your comments.

Make art.

Sharing another Journal page with you today.
Again I used a piece of free background paper, added more stamping and masks coloured  with distress inks. .
The image with wings is stamped on news print then a variety of green paper pieces for her suit. It is from  a  Creative Expressions stamp set by Sam Poole.

The quote is by Andy Warhol.

I will be entering this to the Challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show -' What do you say'.

Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate your comments.
