Linda over at StudioL3 has challenged us to explore another Tim Holtz technique, all the instructions can be found here. I won't say any more except it is great tutorial.
I used Creative Expressions, Wild Flower stamps. The water colour paper, I was able to persuade my OH that he would love to give me some to play with. This is my third effort, I had splashes everywhere, but I will be trying this one again when I get home.
Tomorrow we are on the road again, to the National Landrover Rally in Norfolk. noise, and big boys toys.
I haven't been able to visit many of you lately, as well as the internet connection problems in caravanland, Blogger seems not to want to let me leave messages. I know I am not the only one this is effecting, it cheered me up reading that many of us are in the same boat.
Thankyou for stopping by, I realy appreciate you calling.

Paper chain dollies.
The new Stampman challenge is a Recipe. You take 3 ingredients from a vertical/horizontal or diagonal line.Pop over here for all the information.
I chose a vertical line of Blue, Torn/ripped paper and a Die cut.
The stamp is a Gorjuss girl with her torn paper dollies, coloured with cosmic shimmer paints. The die cut layers were sent to me by a friend. The other torn and layered papers are from my caravan stash. the flowers you will recognise as my favourite Joanna Sheen stamps.
Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.
Tatty Button
Its Wild Card week over at Try it on Tuesdays and we are challengeing you to make a Scrapling.
All the information is on TioT's blog, together with some Fab examples.
I used one of my new Tatty Button stamps, she is just the right shape for this thin sized card. One of the layers was an embossed scrap of card, the rosette was made using an EK punch.
These scraplings are just the right size for a bookmark. Tatty is on holiday with me in the caravan being put to good use.
Thankyou for stopping by, your comments are always appreciated.

Wish you were here
The new Just for Fun Challenge is to make your own postcards, pop over and see the fabulous examples and all the instructions for this theme here
As I am currently leading the nomadic life in our caravan, my stash is a bit limited. I used Aspects of Design stamps as well as some that are so old, I cannot name the maker. I did manage to do a bit of embossing in a couple of the corners.
The background is coloured using blocks of distress inks, a selection of greens and blue.
Over at Linda's StudioL3 Week7 Grungy Monday is exploring Tim Holtz Distress Ink Colour Blocking.
So I am am showing my version of this technique there as well.
I don't normally send postcards, but I think this is a great idea and wonder what the postie will think of this one.
Thankyou for stopping by to take a look at my card and please forgive me if I don't call by to your blogs, as internet connections in caravan land are not always that good.

1970's
This week at Try it on Tuesdays we have free choice in what we make.
I thought that might have been easy till I read the theme of the challenge, 'The 1970's' use this as a guide, for what you remember best in this decade.
Well, my days were filled easily as a stay at home mum, buckets of nappies , toddlers about the house, playschool, first days at school , a dog and a cat. I said no, to the hamsters, but we did look after them in the school holiday one Christmas, the cat was in heaven with anticipation. Endless walks in the countryside, [we are lucky to live so close to woodland, fields and river walks]. I would not swap those years for anything.
I listened to pop on the radio while ironing, we had just got our first colour TV in the late 70's.
Enough of remembering, what am I going to make for this challenge.
This card was very easy to put together the stress of wondering what to make had taxed my brain for long enough., so I have taken an easier approach this week.
I used My Craft Studio for the twisted decoupage, Martha Stewart punches for edging and a floral die cut.
Yes, I do remember seeing a few brightly decorated cars in those days.
So pop over to Tiots, to see what we all remember, and join us in the 1970's.
Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, I love to read your comments.

Live the moment
For this card I have used one of my favourite sentiments by Stampers anonymous.
The card is layered with a selection of papers from my stash, which are various shades of green and white The ribbon through the lace is actually a sort of sage green colour in real life.
I used my Prym loom for one one of the flower layers. The other layers are from Tim Holtz's Tattered floral die. They were plain white and I used a small flower stamp over the petals using Shabby Shutters DI.
Challenges
Lets Ink It Up - Focal Sentiment and a 3D Flower.
Craft Your Days Away - Challenge20 White and One Colour.
Both these super blog challenges have some fabulous examples by their DTs.
Thankyou for stopping by to take a look at my card. I realy appreciate your comments.

Moments
Week 15 over at Less is More and a new challenge theme set by Chrissie and Mandi. They have once again shown us sone fabulous examples here.
So what is the theme, a 'OneLayer Card' with some embossing.
I have used a Joanna Sheen stamp for the main image with Lapis, black aurora embossing powder, coloured with cosmic shimmer paint. The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp
There is a couple of shady patches that are not on the card in real life. I think its the light, we have a dull.damp, dreary day here up north.

Just for Fun
The new theme over at Just for Fun this week is Scraplings.
Using a piece of card that was about 2.5 x 11 before folding in half. The sort of size we have left over from making a square card from a piece of A4 paper.
To keep on the using up theme, bits we save for another day. One layer is a piece of embossed card, it had a splodge of yellow already on it, so I added a bit more to highlight 'Manic Mary'. Added a few cut up scraps, string and a button. The stamps are Graphics45, coloured with cosmic shimmer paint, there is a bit of glitter on the card as well, but it isn't showing so well.

Its Raining Gears
This is the birthday card I made for my OH, as he takes all my photos I have been unable to show it to you until now.
I used brown cardstock as the base, the next layer is from a Tim Holtz paper stack. The die cut cogs, got the rust treatment with distress pwder. The next layer was covered with a page from an old book, stamped with cogs and coloured with weathered wood DI.
At last a reason to use my new Umbrella man die, I have used the piece that would normally be put aside, keeping the man for another project..
The metal embellishments came from my stash.
This card will fit the themes for a these of challenges.
Crafty Card Makers Challenge 45--Steampunk or machines.
Craft us CrazyChallenge8. Use a Favourite embellishment/s and /or something new [new die, favourite cogs]
Simon Says Stamp Show--Anything Goes.
There are some awesome examples over at these three blogs.

Craft -Room
There is a new challenge blog coming soon called the Craft Room Challenge. They are currently looking for folk to join the DT. Please find all the details here. Also there is some fab blog candy up for grabs.
I am happily retired and can indulge myself with my passion for crafting,
Entering challenges has broadened my outlook and I will now try almost
any form of crafting if I have the materials, some things work, others
get relegated to my recycle box, to use another day.
Since I began my first blog I have been able to find many new
crafting friends. Blog hopping ,is a continuous
source of inspiration and the talent of other
crafters is just awesome.

Inchie Art.
Grungy Monday- week6 over at Linda's Studio L3 super examples to see over there to tempt you into trying this weeks challenge.
First of all a visit to Tim Holtz here to revisit the techniques from holidays past, which is an amazing tag , showing how to do dauber resist.
I used Butterscotch and Pool coloured daubers. Stampinton and Stampers anonymous stamps. The distress inks were weathered wood and wild honey. The butterfly is a die cut, I have used an old nib, I apologise but I cannot remember where I saw it used this way out there in blogland, but I use it in good faith as you gave me the inspiration.
The image I have cut into inchies and remounted to use on a hanging on the main piece.
I loved the words, "Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible th others." The words were hard to get into focus.
This hanging will also fit the theme for the current challenge over at the Crafty Cardmakers Spotlight blog.
[Caz you have me hooked on inchies again.] You must include at least 3 inchies in the piece you make.
Thankyou for stopping by, your comments are always appreciated.

One for the Boys
The new Challenge over at Try it on Tuesdays. is to make a Tag.
This week it was my choice of theme, so here it is,----'One for the Boys'.
My tag will be decorationg my OH's birthday gift soon, I know he likes it ,as he has had a sneak preview when he photographed it.
The base tag I put through an embossing folder with cogs and wheels on it. All the colouring is Tea dye and antique linen DI. I sanded the surface a bit, in parts it hasn't shown up so well.. The stamps are Tim Holtz.
Please pop over and see the variety of inspirational tags made by my DT mates...

Poppies
The new challenge over at the Stampman this time is Poppies. Janet has chosen this theme as she is supporting a special event being held in her home town of Skipton in a few months time.
Please check out the details , see the information and fabulous examples on the Stampman blog, and help if you can.. This card will soon be on its way to you.
My layered Poppy card has a stamped and embossed image by Inkadinkado. I have had this stamp for absolutely ages and I still love to use it. It is coloured with cosmic shimmer paint, also tea dye and antique linen DI.
'Dust off your stash' is the theme for this weeks Secret Crafters Saturday challenge, the stamp is old, so is the backing papers, so I hope this card will fit your theme as well.

White on White.
'White on White' is the new challenge over at Less is More. Once again Chrissie and Mandi are making us think. Please go see the super examples using this theme over here.
One of my layers I embossed using a script folder, another I just used a MS corner punch.
The loopy flower was made with my flower loom, topped with a flower made using white Fimo clay. Good job I had one that wasn't coloured in my box.
It was realy hard to photograph, this one looks a bit shadowy, but it was the best of the bunch.
I haven't added a sentiment, as this would be adding a colour [probably black] to the card.

Free as a Bird
'Free as a Bird' is the theme of the challenge for May over at Crafty Individuals I am in awe of the fabulous creations that can be seen over there.
For my card I used CI 180 bird stamp. It is a minor miracle I still had the original package.
I think the frame may be a CI one but am not entirely sure. One of the layers is fine corrigated paper , another was embossed with a tree bark pattern, both were coloured with Tea dye distress ink. I used a crackle stamp on the frame before colouring with Antique linen DI. The main image got the cosmic shimmer paint treatment. Once again my new favourite flower stamp by Joanna Sheene has had an outing, some card candy and charms complete my piece. Not sure as yet if it will be a card or a hanging.
The current challenge No14 over at Lets Ink it Up is Embellish It, so I hope I have added enough extras to fit the theme. There are fantastic examples to inspire there as well.

Talula
'Size Matters', is the new topic this month over at Just for Fun.
Neet has begun by challenging us this week to use 'Inchies'. Pop over and see the super examples the DT have posted..
I used a Stampotique stamp for my main image, coloured with cosmic shimmers which I then cut into inch squares before remounting. My card base was stamped with a variety of stamps.
I used a tiny bit of mesh behind the spider charm that is dangling from the pointed finger.
Talula just didn't have a free hand to hold it herself.

Story Time.
This week at Try it on Tuesdays, the challenge theme for the card is, 'Something Old , Something New'.
We have to use, something we have owned for more than 6 months, also
something we have owned for less than 6 months.
Check out all the details here and see the super examples.
Our sponser is One Stop Cards and a £10 voucher is up for grabs.
On my card the main image is a Whiff of Joy stamp that I have had for absolutely ages. Coloured with chalk and cosmic shimmer paints.
The flower stamp, is from my newest favourite Joanna Sheene, Wild Flowers set. I will have to hide it from myself, its been used on my last 3 cards. Stamped on to patterened paper it only needed to add a bit of glitter to the centre of the flowers.
This card will also fit the theme at The Artistic Stamper this month.
May Challenge- Lovely ladies and Gorgeous girls. Super examples to see there as well
Thankyou for stopping by to take a look at my card, your comments are greatly appreciated.

LIM --Thankyou
Week 13 Luck dip, and the theme Chrissie and Mandi have set is Thankyou or Congratulations.
Once again pop over here and see the fantastic cards.
For these cards I used my new Joaana Sheene wild flower stamps, I love how easily they layer up.
The ribbon looks a bit wonky on the photos, but it is straight on the cards.
I used cosmic shimmer paints to colour them .
This one especially looks bent in the middle.
Perhaps its because the card isn't flat down on my bench, the flap had a will of its own and wouldn't stay down.
