How did you get there?

June at Dezinaworld is inviting us to join in a new weekly,
 'Cheeky Challenge at....
I may not be able to join each week but I will be trying my best.
I am quite new to creating  digital pages, but am enjoying the journey
and I think this prompt was just right for me to experiment with.
This lovely lady deep in thought,  was the image given  for this week.
All the details are here.

I had great fun  digitally extracting the figure from the background,
definitely more practice needed for this.
I think she is wondering how the monkey got into the cage  and let the parrot out.
The backgrounds and other images are from my Craft Studio, Mischief Circus sets
and from my stored free to use  images.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today. I do appreciate your comments.

A touch of the blues.

Well here we are into November and I realy must get started in earnest making some Christmas cards.
So to get me in the mood I have done a little blog hopping and found a couple of challenges that gave me some inspiration to get started.....

So I will be joining these challenges

Country View Crafts  November theme  is.....The Colour Blue
and
Rubber Dance Nov/Dec/ is an Optional theme ........I chose ......Winter Sky

Reminder...there is still another week to join the challenge over  at
Try it on Tuesdays.....Lots of Layers

I started off my making my own background using an A3sheet, coloured with acrylic paints and watercolours.
Next came some stencilling and after spilling my white paint, I took a piece of bubble wrap and used up the paint by dabbing it over the page.
Random stamping stamping using a few old stamps and it was good to go as a base layer.
The tree and sentiment stamps are from  Tim Holtz Christmas Scribbly set.
The snowflakes are a memory Box die.
A little matting and layering with scrap pieces os card and lace and  broken China distress ink for extra shading.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today, I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Autumn Colours for AJJ

The new theme for November over at
Inspired by Autumn Colours.
This has to be a favourite season of mine when the colours in the trees
change from greens to rust, orange and red.

I had already started the first layers for this digital page a few days ago, using digi sets from  Mischief Circus.  Other things needed attention, so they were left stored in my computer.
When I read the next theme at AJJ was Autumn. I realised I could join in straight away.

The page realy only needed a few overlays using my Craft Studio
and some of the colour tones adjusted to rusty reds.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today, I always appreciate the comments you leave me

A trip to the dark side on All Hallows Eve

This page was created with digital images  in MCS  from a Mischief Circus set
and  a  found  photo of a terrace of houses.
It is for  my  10 x 7 inch journal and will be printed out as soon as the printer decides
it likes doing what I ask it to do today..

This was the photo I used and some of the images.
The quote is one of Edgar Allan Poe's.

I hope this is not too scary for the girls at Art Journal Journey,
where this months theme hosted by Sheila  is............
 Architecture.
I have to admit I  prefer  the row of terraced houses in colour, but as I said ...
its a trip to the dark side of Halloween.

Thank you for stopping by, your comments are always appreciated.

Layers and papers with flowers for you.

Our new challenge over at Try it on Tuesdays  is to use
''Lots of Layers''.
There are some fantastic examples  showing how we all interpreted this theme
and the types of  layers we used.
Please pop over and have a look and get all the details.
I chose to use matting and layering for my card. using graphics 45 papers and coloured card stock.
The edges were roughed up using  my trusty blunt scissors
and  given a wipe with good old Vintage Photo distress ink.
Some burlap  flowers and snippets  were my added extras.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today, I always appreciate your comments.

When I grow up I want to be..................

A  mainly digital collage page today,
with Lizzie who would love to be an Architect when she grows up.
She dreams of becoming famous and designing tall buildings.
Its good to have dreams.

Lizzie is going off to visit with
Art Journal Journey
where Sheila is hosting this months theme of
Architecture

This is where it all began with a water coloured image.
Sorry I don't know the maker, my unmounted stamps  always seem to end up without the original wrapping.
I took a photo, then  used my Craft Studio program with some stored free images to create this page.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today, i always appreciate the comments you leave.
