Scent of a Rose, for Sugar Creek Hollow

This week at Sugar Creek Hollow our new Challenge is to make a Tag.

The Image I used on my tag is called the Scent of a Vintage Rose and comes from the Vintage Digi stamp section at the store, beautiful isn't she.
For the base layer of my tag I stamped then  embossed with pale pink powder, a favourite Rose stamp.
A piece of embossed script, all shading is Tea Dye and Spun Sugar Distress inks.
The image was water coloured, before cutting out.
The trimmings all came from my stash.

Faded Layers

I am just in time to show my take on this weeks Technique  Challenge set by Linda over at Studio L3 from Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities Page 43- Faded Layers.
I used  Stampers Anonymous stamps and a clock face mask.The colours are  Victorian Velvet, Wild honey and tumbled glass.
Once again, I cannot say how this evolved. But next time I will be using a different Archival ink to black.
With the resulting piece I have made a 'Just Because', quickie card.

Swim little Fish.

On the  Beach is the new Challenge over at Try it on Tuesday.
Imagine yourself by the sea and join us, we have extended the time for you to enter and the challenges will now run for two weeks.

I decided to alter this door hanger, the fish tail is still work in progess, as I hope to find some real shells next time I am at the coast.
The colouring for the background is layers of acrylic paints, mixed to get the shades I was wanting. The base layers are painted the top layed are dabbed on with a piece of kitchen paper. I used watercolours for the stamped images.
All the stamps are by Chocolate Baroque.

Cities of the World

Cities of the World is the new theme  at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
It was my turn to choose the theme, little did I realise that my initial title choice would  have us getting our 'thinking caps on,'  big style.
As we are celebrating the Queens Jubilee this year and the Olympics are fast approaching and I live in the U.K.  I am off to London.

The  background  was randomly stamped with a stamp from Chocolate Baroque.
 Next  I used a mask of our Union Jack flag  dabbing it with Distress Inks, Broken China and Fired Brick.
The collage stamp of London is from Crafty Individuals, with the other additions coming  from my stash.
The ribbon trim was a real find  last time we were in Yorkshire, I loved the row of Guardsmen.

Sugar Creek Hollow,' Black and White'.

At last I can share some good news, I have been wanting to shout out loud  for a little while, but today I can.
The  fantastic DT over at Sugar Creek Hollow have asked me to join the team. I am truly thrilled and honoured and look forward to the challenges.

 So,the new Challenge for  this week over at Sugar Creek Hollow is - Black and White, the only place you can add colour is on the Focal Image.
I made this card using plain black and white cardstock for the layers, the base card is also white.
 To trim the corners I used an embossing  corner punch. The die cuts are by Memory Box.
One of the layers is stamped with my favourite old French script stamp, so well used I never put it away.
 The main image  is part of a Queens Dresser Drawers stamp, after cutting away some wording etc,  this was  given the splash of colour using watercolours.

The Queens Tea Party

Had to play with some new papers yesterday, all celebrating the Queens Jubilee.
They came from a craft CD by Debbie Moore.
I can only describe it as a tag with a collage, because all it involved was mainly cutting out.
Some water colour highlights and Vintage Photo distress ink for shading.
The one stamp I used is from an Artistic Outpost set, the cup and saucer, which I am sure will be used lots.
A cup of tea is highly rated here in the UK.
I added a bit of sparkle to the sugar cubes and coming out of the cup for a bit of steam rising up.

Marbled stains

I have been trying the next  Technique Challenge set by Linda at Studio L3
Week3 when we refer to page  46   in Tim Holtz's book, A  Compendium of Curiosities Vol. 2, to find out how to  do Marbled Stains.

Following the rules I cannot explain how I made the background.

 Using a background  piece that I made, I  stamped  this topper  with  Studio 490 stamps , trimming   with a few small pieces of left overs from other projects,  that were in my bits box.
