Daisies

Challenge 17 over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and we would like  you follow a line from our Bingo Card.
Choose a line, vertical, horizontal or diagonal,  we have had real fun with this one.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have been making. Remember we like to see your stamping.

Once again I chose to make a small hanging. My line is diagonal, it includes Words, Distressing and Flowers.

After cutting the  heart shape, I used a Sheena Douglas topper to cover the surface.
Then it was lightly coated with cream acrylic paint and when dry shaded with  Antique Linen  with a little stormy sky  distress ink on the edge.
I then went round all  the shape with antique gold heat  embossing powder.
For the daisies I   used  stamps from Sheena's Paint Fusion Daisy set.
These were water coloured and topped with a pearlescent  cosmic shimmer paint, before cutting out.
Much easier this way as you can go over the outlines without spoiling your work.
The words are from a Studio 490 stamp set. Just right for the promises of Spring.

Challenge  21   at Lets Ink It Up  is 'Show us your flowers'. I hope these daisies will fit the theme, the are starting to show their pretty heads everywhere they shouldn't in my garden.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate you calling.

Daffodils

A bit late  for this weeks challenge over at Make My Mondays which is Spring Flowers.
This card is made using elements from the Country Diary CD from Joanna Sheene.
Also used  Memory Box die cut for the florish.
I would have liked to use more dimension, but as this will be going in the post and our postage cost in the UK are rising, I need to practise making cards that don't need a  'Large' stamp.

thankyou for stopping by, I realy appreciate you calling.

Meet my Grandparents.

The Chestnut Theme Challenge GS 141 over at Gingersnap Creations is -Granny's Photo Album.
This had me reaching for one of the first scrapbooks I made about 14 years ago, to record our family's history.  Back then it was difficult to get stuff in the UK  to enhance the pages, hence this is a very basic page, but it means a lot to me.

My grandparents were married before the start of World War 1 and he served in the Royal Navy

I am lucky to be the keeper of some of the beautiful cards he sent home to my Gran.
They are also in the Family scrapbook, as you can see they have suffered a bit over the years and like many family items that  are only found by accident many years later.

The beautiful lace on the right is an oval shape when unfolded.
My grandparents lived well into their eighties and am so glad that my two sons are able to remember them both.

Thank you for stopping by I realy appreciate you calling.

Try it on Tuesdays is changing.

Now did the title get you wondering what is happening?
We have some brilliant, talented crafters joining us on the Design Team this week, so a huge welcome from me.
Also, our formula  is changing, lots of new things are happening.
Please pop over to TioT's  for all the details and meet the  our new DT members.
This week they are showing you their favourite  things.

Janet and Michelle also asked us to show you our favourite as well, when we  tell you the news.

I find it hard to have favourites, as each thing I make has its own better points and when finished, things that could have been done better.
So I am including a journal page.
It shows the messy side of me with the backgrounds using up inks.
Stamping which has got to me my first choice when crafting.
Then colouring with watercolours. Oh! then on this page a touch of glitter  the lady.

Thankyou for stopping by and I hope you will join  us at TioT's in the coming weeks.

One Stop Card Crafts

I made my card using elements from the new Sheena Douglas CD.
The backing papers are beautiful, as are the toppers.
I did add antique linen distress ink to age it a little  and edged  the oval with embossing powder .
A bit of glitter to highlight  the butterfly wings.
The stamped sentiment reads, 'true friendship needs no words', a sentiment I whole heartedly agree with.
Extra flowers came from my stash to finish.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate you calling.

Call me Daisy

I am practising being out of my comfort zone and trying to make a few cute/sweet cards.
Not sure where this is taking me on my craft journey,  as I know I have yet to feel happy about the results.
For this I used a light olive green base card, adding layers of green patterned card, one of these was embossed. A Memory box die cut is behind the large flower
The stamp is a Fairyopolis stamp  from Crafters Companio, coloured with watercolours. The shading is  Forest Moss distress ink.
Challenges entered-
The Stampman Challenges - Colours of Spring.  As this card is shades of green and has some flowers, I was thinking along the lines of new growth and fresh grass.
Saturday Challenge at the Secret Crafters is' Go for Green'.

Thankyou for Stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

Day Dreamer

This little LOTV lad is happily relaxing, I just wonder what he is thinking.
Anyway I made this card following the sketch for the new  challenge here at 'Moving along with the Times'.
Its a LOTV topper which I added a bit of extra water colour and some tea dye distress inks.
The stamps on the other shapes  are by Paper Mania and an old  swirly stamp.
The backing paper is Kanban.

This is what both sides of  my March calendar page looks like. Its  for the 4 x 4 inch fat Page monthly swap I am  exchanging with my friend who doesn't blog.
Our theme this time was Mother's Day.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.
