Its.....'Time for Tea'

Time for Tea

Hello everyone and welcome to the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

This weeks challenge theme at Try it on Tuesdays is.......
Time for Tea
Once again there are some fantastic ideas from the team so please pop over and take a look.

My project started out in a traditional
way. with layers, stamps, die cuts, paint  and inks. Then ended up with a few digital additions when I added the words.
One of the layers is kraft card and I sprayed this paint which soaked into the card, but it does have a shine to it in places.

We hope you will come and join us and have some tea time fun.

*****************************
Hello Tea friends,
I hope you don't mind  that I have included you in my TioT's post today.

 Tea Day over at
Bleubeard and Elizabeths
is always a post relating to a beverage of some sort
and as you can see from the this  photo, the cuppa was also on my desk,
A  warm welcome awaits you at my Mad Hatters Tea Party.
As I was assembling my bits and pieces,
I ended up cutting out more cups ,  with less pattern on them.
Now instead of using up things, I have added more to the box to be used at some time in the future.

Thank you all for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

Dreams

I am sharing another hybrid journal page with you today.
My last one I think for Linda's theme over at.....
Fifty Shades of Red.
I have really enjoyed this challenge.

This is how it all began with a painted page, a little stenciling  and a touch of gilding wax.
The words and girl   were added using my computer program. [information in my sidebar.]

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are very welcome and your comments are always appreciated.

Spring in a warmer climate.

Over at Tag Tuesday the new theme is ...'' Spring flowers''.

Today the wind is blowing itself into a frenzy and even though the sun has made an appearance
its icy cold.  My flower stamps have gone into hiding. I must start labeling boxes.
So my tag today is to celebrate Spring in a much warmer, exotic climate,
with humming birds and bright pink flowers.

I used  napkins for the base,  some extra shading with distress ink. a word stamp and some die cuts. The bright pink wasn't planned to begin with only the first paint layer looked washed out.
The shadows on the tag are from the layered die cuts and material.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today, you are very welcome here.

A red Journal and a stop at the Tea Junction

Another hybrid  and you can say 'Messy' journal spread from me today.
As you know I often use my own base layers and complete them in my digital program

On the left is a group  of  photos.
You can see the original messy pages,. It is a kraft paper journal so I started out with a layer of white acrylic paint then inks stamps and torn papers in my hands on journal..

Now the digital  additions...
far left the  main image I wanted to use. the base background from above,  many layers of colour, digital splashes etc.

On the right with additional red colours.
so I can join in at
Art Journal Journey again for the 50 Shades of Red theme

These pages proved to me that digital can also be 'messy' when creating  them
and a very enjoyable way to pass a cool dull afternoon.
THe bonus of these stages is that, I did have clean hands.
I will add a quick reminder that the
Try it onTuesdays  current challenge theme is
 Lets Get Messy.

Now a big Hello to friends from

where every Tuesday we are made very welcome if we have a Tea related post.

This was the tidiest part of my craft desk today.
I am managing to add an entry into my diary/ journal each day,
its only a few words, but for me its progress.
Do you like my Tea sign, a gift with the mug  at Christmas.

On the subject of mess, The craft room is a shared space and here is a peek, at the other side of the room and  some of my husbands mess.
He has a model railway in our loft,
 out of bounds to me.

He brings the trains down to  tinker with them if they aren't running smoothly.
He calls this area his repair/shunning yard.
There is always work in progress, new buildings this time. I have to shut my eyes to the dust, when they come downstairs,  but he does have some very useful tools lying around, that  come in quite useful for me as well.

Thank you all for calling in today, you are very welcome
and I hope you have a Happy T Day.

Chirpy Birds for AJJ

Remember the page from my last post, that was waiting for a bit of inspiration.....
Well I came across  a few bits and pieces and  stamps
and this is how it ended up.
I think Mr Bird is chatting up Miss Feathers  and is asking her to go on a date.
Imagination is always a good thing.
. Especially when the local birds seem to be thinking its nearly spring
and are  getting a little vocal in the garden and  countryside around us.
I am linking to
Art Journal Journey
and Linda K's theme of  50 shades of Red.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today, you are very welcome here.

A little weird looking?

A little weird looking?
No not us, we are just having fun and saying that wearing glasses is ''COOL''.

Had some fun this afternoon creating this hybrid  journal page for
where Linda  wants us to use this theme....'.50 Shades of Red.'

I also realised that if my   images were  to wear some
 Spectacles
I could join the folk at the

On the left is how the base layer was coloured and stencilled.
I wasn't sure what to add next .
So it is waiting for more inspiration.

In the meanwhile I added  digital elements after taking the photo. {see side bar for information].

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are very welcome and your comments are always appreciated.

Lets get Messy at TioT's

Lets get Messy,
is the new challenge theme at Try it on Tuesdays.
What a good excuse to have some fun.
Please pop over to see what the girls have all been making and come and join us.

I started off with good intentions to take photos of the stages, but they flew out the window
Top row
shows the first layers of white  and acrylic paints then smears of crackle medium.

Bottom row
The inside, plain white to start and some stamps and a few stencils  I added the gold gilding wax as I wasn't sure if I would add another stamped image.

The inside I would keep flat, to make closing easier

Time to think about the outside.
When closed, the width is  about 3 inches and the height  just over 4 inches.

This is the inside, after the gilding wax and extra colour was added.

Out side coloured, gilded and the die cuts added.

Thank you calling in to see what I have been making, you are very welcome here.

I am also going to link with  the challenges
 at Mixed Media World
where the theme is .....
Anything Mixed Media Goes

and
 where the theme is
Texture, crackle and paint.

Dreams and Apple pies

As its Tuesday  first of all I am first popping over to

and share a cuppa with friends there.

I I did have a bit of a cheat for  this weekend and bought an apple pie when we were  shopping.
It did taste as delicious as it looks and a large slice was added very quickly to my plate  after the photo was taken. Most of the weekend was spent watching the Rugby matches on T.V. but I did fit in a bit of time  in my craft room as well.

So back to my Dreamer

This is how the page began in my journal, lots of red brush powder and spray paints.
An embossed heart shape and a canvas[ Dylusions] topper.
The words and flowers in the background  were added digitally.
Another hybrid page, when own pages have had a digital makeover.
Although this time I have to say it was a small addition.

I am linking up to
and Linda K's theme of 50 shades of Red

Happy T day everyone and thank you for calling in to see me.

Sending love...

Can love be art for the soul?
Love  is for sure,  not something to be  commercialised around 14th February.
We should show our loved ones, friends and even our family pets,
that they mean the world to us, at all times of the year.
Oh dear it sounds like I am on my soapbox.  But to me,  money, cannot buy love.

So here is my digital/hybrid page for you today.
I am sending you all  a heartfelt wish, filled with love, for you to  have a happy day,

I am linking to........
where Linda K has set the theme for this month of 50 Shades of Red.

and
where the theme this week is Valentine.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are most welcome
and the comments you leave are always appreciated.

Happys on Sticks

Two versions of the same journal page today.
This one is the hybrid version,  I took the original photo  into my computer program,
then added some extra digital images .

On the left is the original version. A messy inky background, created with brusho powders and liberal amounts of  sprayed water. I didn't use a brush, just scratched it over with an old plastic store card.

The flowers were Paper Artsy stamps, that I had to fussy cut as they didn't stamp onto the ink.

I will be linking with Linda's theme this month  of, 50 Shades of Red
over at

Thank you for calling in to see me today.  you are welcome here your comments are always appreciated.

They have made changes and are inviting us, to join in the challenge themes on their blog..
The  first theme is Bookworm..

I have always enjoyed reading and our home has many sagging bookshelves,
so this theme really appealed to me.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are most welcome

Sharing the love........

A  warm welcome to friends who call in to see me today
and thank you all for the kind messages you left on my last post.

I am starting off with another  tag I had  made  for the current challenge theme over at
It had a well painted and inked base and I used a favourite stamp on the heart shape.

I've also  been catching with things in Blogland....

This involved a few cups of Tea, so I can call in to see  the T gang,
everyone is made very welcome by......
where it 's  T day.

Today  we had some sunshine  and look at one of the patches of  beautiful snowdrops,
 flowering under  the trees.
A sign of spring in our  garden

Then to blow the cobwebs away  we headed to the coast and a walk
where the river reaches the North Sea.

Not many folk around today.

The fishing boats were all out .

Everywhere seemed to be calm and peaceful.
I wish we could say that more often,
it would make our lives and the world we live in a  much happier place to be.

Thank you for calling in today, you are very welcome  and Happy T day to you all.

Begin Again

A digital journal page for
where   Linda K has chosen the theme for this month
50 Shades of Red.

I have had lots going  on in my head these past few days and  have been quite low.
So it was good to be challenged , even though I had to take the easy option and turn on the computer.

Many of you know we had a poorly old  Border Collie,
she shared our lives for than 15 years
and sadly we had to say good bye to her on Thursday

.Sorry if I have missed leaving comments recently,
I have been reading your posts and will catch up over the next few days.

Thank you for calling in to see me today you are most welcome here.
