One Way for AJJ

A last journal page for the current theme over at Art Journal Journey.
Masculine and Feminine.
Valerie and Susi will be announcing  a new theme on the 1st July.
I am back into getting messy and inky with my limited caravan supplies.
One thing that's a plus, it is quite warm [hot] weather so the ink and paint is drying quickly.
An inked random background, some stencils using distress inks, the  face is also a stencil.
So after a while without the messy hands, normal service seems to have returned, hence I added the words 'One Way',  to keep going and have some inky  fun.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Hugo and Mildred for AJJ

A digital collage page today.
One more journal page [A4 this time]  made for  current  theme
of Masculine and Feminine  at
Art Journal Journey, the theme  ends on the 30th  June.
This one is using  images on my computer from MCS programs.
I had this scenario buzzing round my head.
Poor old Hugo is  sneaking out to visit his Lady friend,
Mildred,  his mother,  has just  discovered he had gone out.
Not only that he had taken the fish ,
how dare he, without asking her permission.
She needed the fish  herself, to get to her hairdressers.
I wouldn't  like to cross this feisty woman, bet poor old Hugo had his ear well and truly bent.
Hope this made you smile as it did me.
We are away in caravanland again, with the cupboard stash packed and ready to use.
I feel a few messy and inky days coming soon as
I seem to get better motivation with fewer supplies these days.

Thank you for stopping by, I do so appreciate the comments you leave.

Inspiration board for J52

Way back for Week 12 at Journal 52 the prompt for the week was an Inspiration Board.
It has been posted at J52 but somehow not here on my blog.
So with Mr Mojo on walk about and a few DT items that have to take priority, I thought I would share it here today.
A usual background for me, paints, inks, random stamping and stencils.
Followed by things that are often saved in case in case I might need them,
including scraps of lace, papers etc.
I can say that inspiration can be found in many ways and sometimes its just the best idea to go with the flow and get started.

Thank you all for stopping by, I always appreciate your comments.

Take a Little Time for Tea at TioT's

Tea Cups
is Try it on Tuesdays new challenge theme.
Now by way of explaining ourselves this can be  mugs as well as  cups,
afternoon tea,  a coffee break, etc.  As always how you interpret and craft our theme is entirely your choice.
Please pop over to see what we all made.

This card is made up using a few layers of papers  and a Crafty Individuals stamp.
The trusty Vintage Photo distress ink was used for extra shading
with  water colours for the stamped main image.

Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Feeling Blue

A journal page just for fun.
I had been mixing blue paints for a DT project [coming soon]
and I don't do waste, so this was the page I did my testing on.
The stencil folder was to hand , so I added a few using distress inks,
Black Soot for the branch and the cage.
The main image[ by Finnabair]  was stamped onto tissue before sticking in place.
I haven't been into the craft room as often as I would like recently, Mr Mojo
has  gone walk about and we will soon be off on our caravan travels again.
I hope he gets back here pronto or he won't get packed in the craft cupboard.

She is going off for visit to Art Journal Journey,
thank you Valerie and Susi for the prompt
Thank you for taking time to stop by, I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Time to sit and think

'Silences make the real conversations between friends'.

I love this quote and it is so true, I can sit in quietly with a friend,
then it seems at the same time we will speak to each other.
A comfortable laugh out loud situation, well we have known each other for many, many, years
and our OH's say we can even think the same..
I made  this page as the reminder for
Try it on Tuesdays current challenge
Watches and Clocks
The page is a mop up one. I think the background is Wild Honey and Broken China distress stain, as it was still lurking on my desk. So were all the other ingredients I have been playing with recently.
A selection of old well used stamps, some gifted papers. die cuts  and a touch of  Treasure Gold gilding wax.
Added colours were Spiced Marmalade, Cracked Pistachio and Vintage Photo distress inks.

Thank you for stopping by, I ready do appreciate your comments and support

Mother and Son for AJJ

While I was making my last digital journal page, I was also experimenting
with some images from Craft CD's. as well as the My Craft Studio program I usually use.
Now I am definitely not computer savi so this did take me a while to suss out.
I have taken the courage to share  a couple with you.

These are the print outs of a two of them,
I did have to trim them down a bit before sticking them into my 7  x 10 inch journal.
By this time I realised I had forgotten to save the page.
The digi images I added are from Flights of Fancy[Crafters Companion]
I was quite happy with how they looked at this stage and that the baby had showed up in the background.

I toned the colour down giving it a wash down in places  using diluted  white gesso.
Some added random  stencilling using acrylic paints, and joy of joys I was back again with messy fingers.
Then I re- coloured parts of the images with water colour paints

This is how they look together,  the  handsome son and his Mom.

Masculine and Feminine

One man and his Dog for AJJ

A  digital journal page  today, for the current theme over at
Masculine and Feminine.
This is a great blog to visit, with amazing artwork to inspire.

I used a  stored  photo  for the background [a thatched cottage]  then added a few plants and greenery, printed the  words. Then finally an overlay with
some  splashes of paint, all this using a My Craft Studio program.
The guy walking his dog is a free image I think from  from PNG photo images.
So there it is ready to be pasted in my journal and not an inky finger in sight.
This is sure a cleaner way to craft, but have to say I do prefer the messy , inky way.

I hope they enjoy the walk.
Thank you for taking time to stop by, I appreciate the comments you leave

Time to be Yourself---- for TioT's

Watches and Clocks
is the new challenge over at Try it on Tuesdays
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making.

On the left is one of my layers, which was made with Brusho  powders,
spritzed with water and then some random stamping.
The clock is a Die cut , rubbed over with two colours of gilding wax, copper and gold.
The image is from a Stampers Anonymous set, coloured with water colours.
After layering up, I finished the card with a butterfly that was looking for a new home

Thank you for taking time to stop by, I  always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Journal 52 and a glimpse of my caravan stash

The prompt for week 21 at Journal 52 was a
Top 10 List.
I thought it would be easy for me to pick out my Top 10 crafty item, but the list grew longer.
I started this page when I was away and  decided that I should concentrate on what I had with me
This was the list, stamps, stencils. grunge paste, ink pads, glue, distress ink, distress stain, water colours, spray paint and quotes [this was the missing item and I added my quote  today].

Now a few photos of my caravan stash, which I have to limit to go in a small space
a shoe box of stamps

the ink pads, the orange wallet holds my stencils
and the purple one some papers, die cuts and toppers.

a view from above, with  3 boxes clipped together, a small  box with assorted paints and sprays etc
and  my  smaller  journal . The third layer of the box, holds the glues  etc.
The contents change for each trip away, but the space is always the same.

Thank you for stopping by  to take a look, I do so appreciate your comments.
I am now off to face a pile of ironing, the joys of being home!.

Together Forever for AJJ

This is the last journal page I have made with my limited  caravan supplies.
We are on our way home and tomorrow I will be re-united with my craft room.
There is something to be said about limiting yourself to a few items when creating. Don't think this idea will last long for me, but I intend to try.

So with June's theme at Art Journal Journey  of Masculine and Feminine in mind.
I again used  stencils and inks as a background, with the couple and their new baby, cut from a magazine.
There is even a little Grunge pate used through a stencil, it dried very quickly in the sun [oops nearly frightened to say we have had some good weather].

Thank you for all the comments you leave for me, its lovely to have your support and encouragement

An ATC for Stamps and Stencils

Julia is our hostess for the new challenge theme over at Stamps and Stencils,
it is called --'Small is Beautiful'.
One of the suggestions was an ATC  and as its a while since I made one of these small cards, I just had to give it a go . You can find all the details here and I hope you will pop over to see what we all made.

The ATC blank was given a wash using watercolour paints, before adding a small flower stencil using modeling paste.

Next a  stencil  for the background.
Then giving a bit extra colour  to the flowers using  Weathered Wood distress ink, then  a light cover  using White Fire Treasure Gold

The butterfly is one of Tim Holz new stamps from the water colour set, water coloured then given a coat of glossy accents.
I smeared a few patched of DecoArt crackle paste and then patiently waited for it all to dry.
This made the colours of stencil bleed a little into the background

A little extra colour round the edges  and bit of trimming and  all it needed was a little trimming. with some ribbon from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, the comments you leave for me
 are always very much appreciated.

All Girly for AJJ

The folk over at Art Journal Journey announced the new
theme on  1st June  --'Masculine and Feminine'.
What to use, with a limited supply of stuff  in the caravan.
Well Tim Holtz Runaway set of stamps,
some background stamps from Crafters Companion
and the Distress ink assortment  that is in the box.
A quick look through the Sunday newspaper magazine, found me the clothes rail and the leggy girl.
So this is my version of the Feminine side of the theme.

The story to this spread is that Tanya,
is out on a shopping spree and needs to,  ' phone a friend',
She cannot decide what to buy,   the designer dresses or the usual Tee shirt and skirt.
I think she would quite suit one of the  'posh frocks'.

Thank you for stopping by, I do so appreciate the comments you leave.

New Shoes and a Tiara

Sharing a  quick card with you which also fits in with the current Challenge at Try it on Tuesdays
which is Crowning Glory.
There is still another week for you to join us.
A Brusho background-purple.
and a bit of Dusty Concorde distress ink around the edges.
The boots stamp is by Deep Red and the quote is a Dylusions one.
The crown is simply an Alterations die cut rubbed with Treasure Gold.

Thank you for stopping by to see what I have been making, I realy appreciate your comments.
