All Hallows Eve

Happy Halloween everyone.

This is the last of my projects for Halloween. Thank goodness for that I can hear you saying.

Morwena is dressed to impress and ready to go to the witches ball.

The frame [Tando Creative] was painted back and then rubbed over with gold and pewter wax.

The images are from a craft CD called the Twilight Queen by Debbie Moore.

Monochromatic Purple.

Now when Fiona over at Craftycardmakers set our new Challenge,  'Monochromatic Purple',  I had to put my favorite shades aside and get thinking.
I chose to go look through my card and paper stash and found this selection that fitted the theme.
A flowered base  layer, followed by a plain white layer, the edges were shaded with Dusty Concorde distress ink. I tied a purple ribbon round the next layer and added the sentiment..
Hey presto, one of the quickest cards I've made in ages, but as the light for taking photos is so bad  at the moment, I won't mention the words that were used  and time it took to get a decent picture

Another small book to share with you today.

it was about 4 x 4 inches in size.

Made using Graphics 45 papers from the Steampunk Spells stack.

 All the pages have pockets to hold the extras I added 

Think you can see what I mean from the previous two photos.

  Any extra shading was Vintage Photo and Weathered Wood  Distress ink.

'Make a Card',  is the new theme  over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.  As always we have our regular sponsor Flonz with a super prize for our winner. Please pop over for all the details and see what my D.T. sisters have been making.
I began with a Kraft card base using an Embossilicious folder with a flower pattern, then decided to use the reverse side, shading the whole area with the trusty Vintage Photo Distress ink.
 A dotty embossed layer came next, shaded in the same way.
The image is a Crafty Individuals stamp, this was water coloured.
Trimmings as always come from my stash.

I used a Kraft card base and a couple of layers of printed paper, all toned down with Vintage Photo distress ink. I then added a doily behind the main image. This is a Crafty Individuals stamp, which I water coloured and reached out for more Vintage photo for shading.The trimmings all came from my stash.

Crafty play time.

Had a nice play this morning with some bits and pieces lying around my craft  drawers, needless to say that the intentions to tidy them just flew out the window.
I edged a page in my journal with a bit of random  stamping and  shaded with..........a light shading of Pickled Raspberry, now you can relax, also my beloved Vintage Photo distress ink.
I kept to these two colours throughout.

I machine stitched a home altered  paper and material layer together, before sticking out onto the page. The material flower was cut using the Tattered Florals , Alterations die, probably more than a year ago. We never like waste do we.
I glued some distress glitter to the fronds die cuts, you will guess the shade V.P.
More scraps of materials glued down, a metal pocket watch charm.
I stopped here as I need to remember that I have to be able to close my book.

Take a Little Time for Tea

Shabby Chic, is the new challenge theme set for us by Betty C. over at  Crafty Cardmakers.

This is one of my favorite styles of crafting and I can use many of my stashed  items, e'g.' lace and left over trimming,

The base card was random stamped before shading, as always Vintage Photo Distress ink features on nearly all of my projects and cards.
Next came a dotty embossed piece of Kraft card, which I rubbed over with an old ink pad to show up the dots.
Torn paper next, then a half of a kraft  paper doily.
The stamped image is by Crafty Individuals,  I used water colours for colouring.

Hocus Pocus and other Spooky happenings.

 As you can see I am still playing with my Halloween images and stamps.
All are quite old stamps, some from Chocolate Baroque others I would find difficult to name.
First my Monthly Fat Page swap,- above is side one.

this is the little 'spook' that's hiding behind  door No. 31.

I wanted to create a bit of atmosphere on  the reverse  side of the page. Think I could scare myself on a dark night with this image.
The distress inks I used to shade this were Weathered Wood , a little Spiced Marmalade  and Antique linen.

Hocus Pocus

Into Tag mode next and a chance to use up some bits and pieces.

You with notice the old cardboard that I painted and stamped out a good while ago, you will be please to hear its nearly all been used.

The steampunk lady  is cut from the cover of a Graphics 45 paper stack.

She is missing a bit if a wing, but as it wasn't there to start with , I'm not worrying. I added a die cut Bat and a bit of trim to her hat.

All the other scraps were lying  about left over from other projects.

Its hard to believe the photos were taken within minutes  of each other, before I added the ribbons to the tag. The one above is more true to the actual shades.

Boo

First of all I would like to say Hello to my new followers and thank you for joining me on my crafty journey.

As you can see I am in Halloween mode with this tag. I read that the current challenge over at
Dragons Dream Tag it On,  is as always to make a tag, ' add a word of your choice, plus die cuts, layers and brown.'.
So I decided to enter, as it was so interesting  with all the elements.
The plain card layers were random stamped  using a spiders web stamp. Shaded with my all time favorite distress ink, Vintage Photo. This stamp and the Halloween ticket are from a stampers Anonymous set.
I embossed some pine tress onto one of the layers and rubbed them over with and old brown ink pad to make them stand out.
The letters of my chosen word BOO are die cuts as is the bird, pocket watch and fence trim.  [Sizzix]
The embossing powder used on the bird and letters is a copper brown shade that I have had for many years, the beak and watch trim is Frantage Aged gold embossing powder.
A few additions from my trimming box to complete the look.

Its all about Texture over at Try it on Tuesdays this week.
  A real good excuse, as if I needed one to get inky and messy. I decided to alter a small  canvas, the original surface had definitely seen better days.
The surface was given a few coats of acrylic paint mainly shades of blue with a white dauber splodged here and there. I used a selection of stamps to add interest at this stage.
Next came the  Chevron mask, and grunge paste, for some base texture. This was coloured with a pale mica powder when still damp. A bit hard to make out in the photo
The flower shape was stamped with a Paper Artsy stamp and coloured with distress ink, Spiced Marmalade and Forest Moss .
The quote is from a Stampers Anonymous set.
Just to finish off I sprinkled some Stampendous embossing power around some of the edges and corners, adding some silvery  flakes before heating.
Did you notice that the flower seems to be growing out of a handbag,  don't we women keep some strange things in ours. I recently found some rusty screws in the bottom of mine, obviously picked up when I was out and about.

Waiting for Santa

I was thrilled to be asked to do a Guest Designer spot over  at  Crafts -Too Challenge  You.
The challenge theme is 'Christmas Festivities' and the Twist this week is to Create a Scene.
It took me a while to think out what to do , but, I knew that this Crafty Individuals stamp was the one I would use. The Children watching out of the window, hoping to see Santa creates a scene in itself.
So for this card, I have kept to my love of all things vintage.
Using Embossalicious folders for the base card , one  layer was distressed with the edge of a blunt pair of scissors.
A couple of Spellbinders Labels, then the fussy- cut C.I. image. I stamped this twice so I could add the children as an extra layer to give dimension. This image was water coloured.
The tree is an Indigo Blu stamp, embossed with a dark green powder, the baubles are coloured with a gold pen. All the extra shading on the card is Vintage Photo distress ink, my all time favorite colouring ink.
The ribbon and lace come from my stash.

I will also enter the new  Crafty Individuals Challenge which is October.
There was a broad scope to this challenge and as you can see this card fits into preparing for Christmas

Bump in the Night

Getting home to my craft space has been something I have looked forward to for a while.
I know I mentioned chores etc. in my last post, 'but', I got a bit side tracked.
There are so many exciting challenges at the moment with Halloween as the theme, that I decided I had time to make a couple of ATC's

I used the same materials to make both ATC's.
A random stamped background with a small spiders web stamp.
All stamps are from Chocolate Baroque.
Shading is Vintage Photo distress inks.
The toadstools are coloured with water colour paints.
I used Hammered Gold embossing power partially round the edges.

I hope to enter the following challenges-
Craft-Room Challenge The challenge here was to make ATC's.
I used to make many of these small pieces, but have to admit it was a good while ago,
Tando Creative Challenge.- The theme there is 'Spook It'.

Paris post.

Sometimes when I make something I have no idea how it will turn out. This card is one of those occasions.
The new Challenge theme over at Fashionable Stamping challenges is 'Use a Mask or Stencil'.
As always there is a generous prize on offer so please pop over for the details.
I started off with the stencils, as you can see from the picture on the right, I used three to make my background, shading with chalks and the usual Vintage Photo distress ink..
The Paris image is an Inkylicious stamp which I stamped onto Acetate with Black Staz-on
Next I tore out a rough square  from the center of a piece of card to act as a frame.
This also helps cover the edges where I stuck down the acetate.
I used an Indigo Blu stamp randomly to edge this layer, again it was Vintage Photo to shade.

This is my last scheduled post, we will now be home from caravanland for the winter.
Once the house is back to order and the chores all done, I will be re-united with my craft-room.
I am looking forward to the luxury of 'space' and having all my craft stash nice and handy.

Romance

'Romance', is Sugar Creek Hollows new challenge theme.

This lovely image came from Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams CD and is from a painting by Josephine Wall. She is an awesome painter who includes so many details in her work. When you look closely you can see so many more images in the picture .

I used the dotty dry  embossing  folder again from Embossalicious. The flowers are Sheena Douglas stamps, fussy cut then watercoloured.
