2 Cup Day

I just got a photo of this card before we lost our daylight here in the N.E. of the England
It was only 3.30 in the afternoon,  and pitch black, it stayed that way for nearly 3 hours. .The storms and rain have been so bad we even were mentioned on the National News together with other areas who also suffered.

This was fairly  simple card  to make following a sketch, the latest  theme set  CD Sunday Challenge Blog.
It took longer to choose which CD  to use,  first came the sentiment, then the image from the Sugar Plum Daisy CD from Polka Doodles.  I know just the person to send this one to, as a just because card.
Like myself it takes her  two or more cups  to get going most mornings.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

Circles at Sugar Creek Hollow

Circles, is our new Challenge  theme over at Sugar Creek Hollow.
Please pop over and see what we have all been making.
Remember we like your entries to be in a Vintage/Shabby chic or Primitive style.

First of all, sorry these photos may look a bit random, I just couldn't get them to go where I wanted them
As you can see I chose to make a hanging.
I covered the  black base  with  a piece of open lace material.
The doilies were  sprayed using a Glimmer mist and a Dylusions spray.
They have a lovely sheen to them , which doesn't show so well on the photo.
The Ladies with hats are from one of Debbie Moores Shabby Chic CD's.
Extra shading was done with Vintage Photo distress inks and the trimmings came from my stash.

I will also be entering these challenges
Crafty Anns Challenge No 68 Memories are made of This.

I love you Mum

We have another 'Anything Goes' challenge this time at Try it on Tuesdays.
We did enjoy visiting you and seeing all your fantastic entries.
I hope you will pop over and see what we have all been making this time .

I decided to make an Easel card, something I don't do very often, but this stamped image from  a Joanna Sheene set is a favourite of mine and I wanted to use it in a different way.
Little did I realise how difficult  it would be to photograph.
Papers I think are Prima, I used Vintage Photo distress inks to shade and age them a little.
The layer behind the image is also brown.
The image is coloured using  various shades of brown watercolours.
Other additions came from my stash and flower box.

I would like also to enter this at-
Simon Says Stamp and Show  'A bit of Brown'.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

I used a pretty pink paper for the base layer. Next a couple of embossed papers.
All the colouring  is Victorian Velvet Distress  ink.

Make your own background papers.

Can you guess from this posts title what our new theme this week  is, over at Sugar Creek Hollow .
As usual we want to see you using a Shabby Chic, Vintage or Primative style, but we would like you to make your  'Own Backing Papers'.
Please pop over and see what we have been making and get all the details.
Also please welcome our Guest designer Kimberley and visit her here

My backgrounds were made with my favourite well used Script and Rose stamps.
The  base card was  stamped with the Script using Tumbled Glass Distress ink, this colour was also used for shading  the card.
The next layers, I  heat embossed the  roses using a pale lemon embossing powder by Woodware. The script is very feint in the backgrounds.
The main image  is a piece  I made  a few weeks back at the  craft workshop, with Jill .
The stamp if I remember is by Stampendous , we added Frantaage embossing powders and some guilding. This was coloured with chalks.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I appreciate your comments.

What did you do for the Jubliee

Well after a week with no internet, I am still in caravanland but back to a more civilised location. We have spent the previous week with our two sons and hundreds of folk who love ''off road Landrovers''. to my family these are , 'big boys toys'. Needless to say our weather has been very unpleasant. Even had to give the new Wellies and outing.
But the menfolk and some of the ladies are hardy types. A bit of  rain and  fields of mud can only add to the skill and enjoyment of these events.
These are the my lads two toys, much loved and pampered, both not road legal so are transported on a light truck and trailer. They are now on there way home mud and all.
So a little different post to crafting , thank you for taking time to read it.

Jubilee

Gosh where are the months going to this year,  June already and we are celebrating the Queen's Jubilee.
This is my  next Fat page swap.
Once again I got most of the elements from  my Debbie Moore Shabby Chic London CD.

I used material to cover the other side, I was so pleased  to find a small piece in a bargain bin, it took seconds to jump in my basket. Only wish I had bought more of the Guardsmen ribbon.

Sorry I haven't been able to visit you all  lately, once again we are away in Caravanland and most of my recent posts are scheduled. I will be catching up soon.
Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I appreciate your comments.

Twine etc came from my stash.
All the shading is Distress inks, tea dye, vintage photo and walnut stain.
