Christmas is coming

Winterwonderland's  new challenge is to make a CAS Christmas card this week.
This is not something I find easy, but as Christmas is looming ever nearer, I have given it a go.

The first card  is made with an old favourite stamp, used so many times over the years that the maker's  name has rubbed away.  The second card  has a Butterfly Kisses stamp.
Both were shaded with Vintage photo distress inks, I resisted the urge to add more , but I realy think they look a bit bare.

                                                Happy Halloween Day Everyone.

This is the back and front of   my  Fat Page for the   Blog Buddies Swap  with I sent to Cath.
All the stamps are from Chocolate Baroque.

Thankyou for stopping by, I realy appreciate your comments.

Welcome

Not long now till those witches and warlocks will be  flying the night skies.
Here is my  door sign for this year, wonder who will call?
It was painted with acrylic paints, the witch and the stamps on the following tag are by Chocolate Baroque.

This tag is coloured with black soot and shades of grey watercolour and chalks.
The Colour theme this time at Gingersnap Creations GS 124 is Black and Grey.
I think either one of these would fit the challenge.

Simon Says Stamp and Show also has a One Colour challenge this week, so I hope  my tag will fit this theme  as well.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look. I realy appreciate your comments.

Book cover

This  is Altered Art week again  at Try it on Tuesdays we are asking you to use 'Materials'
Pop over for all the details and see what my fellow teamies have been altering, including an amazing piece by our young guest designer.
This piece is a cover for a notebook,  the handy pad that you keep to jot down notes to self, must buy next time at the supermarket, phone messages  etc.  Mine always ends up in the craftroom, under a pile of papers and only surfaces when I feel  the need to do a tidy up.
It is all layers of various materials apart from the stamped flower.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

Coffee and Cream

Challenge 7 over at  Fashionable Stamping Challenges  and we have a  delicious colour palate for our theme this time.' Coffee and Cream'. The fashionnettes have once again  some fabulous examples to show you, so please pop over to take a look and get all the details.
My main image is a Bo Bunny stamp, which I stamped up using a Coffee Archival ink pad.
Vintage photo distress ink was used to get the coffee colour shading. The dark layers and swirls are a dark chocolate colour. The flower is a MarianeD poinsettia dye cut.
Well , I  hope I will be forgiven for adding chocolate, but I do like some chocolate  sprinkles on my cup of coffee, especially if there is a layer of thick frothy cream as well.

Challenges that this card may fit are-
WinterWonderland- Vintage Christmas

The Raven

Well this is my last few days in caravanland for this year, so its  back home soon  to catch up with all the chores  etc. etc. etc. All well down the list of course as my craftroom is calling after having only a few boxes of stuff and a small table to work on.

The latest Gingersnap Creations  GS 123  Random Redhead Challenge is to include Ravens in the piece. I am so pleased I packed some Halloween stuff and downloaded a few things from the computer before we came away, about a certain Mr E.A. Poe.
Now how spooky is this I printed off Edgar Allen Poe's 'Raven' poem.
This is a page from my play journal, the backgrounds are usually already coloured etc when I blot stamps and wipe off distress ink pads.
The stamps are by Indigo Blu and Chocolate Baroque.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

All Hallows Eve

This  started out as a plain perspex coaster,  so when I read that the new Challenge over at
Gingersnap Creations was to use Alcohol Inks. I just  had  to give it a make-over.
GC 122  Supply Challenge.
The two inks I used for colouring were, Stream and Wild plum.
The stamps  are by Indigo Blu and Chocolate Baroque.
It was a bit hard to get a reasonable photo, because of the reflections.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

Peace [TioT's] and Natures secrets [MMM].

Our new challenge for this week is to make a Tag. The theme is 'Peace and tranquillity'.
So pop over to Try it on Tuesdays, for all the details and see the super examples made by my teamies
This tag was stamped with an old Star stamp, embossed with trees before getting shaded with  broken china and bundled sage distress inks. The picture is from Crafty Individuals and looks so right for the theme.

This card I have made for the new challenge over at Make My Mondays  No 19- Autumn Trees.
The stamp is by Chocolate Baroque. I cannot say exactly which colours I used  as I just kept adding more till it looked right. The leaf was from a crafty friend and I have been waiting for ages to use it.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look. I realy appreciate your comments.

This time we are asking that you show us 'Anything but a Card'.
There are some absolutely fabulous examples made by the fashionettes , so pop over please, take a look and get all the information.
My hanging was made from the sides of two old ribbon reels.
The stamps are  Stampotique and Stampers Anonymous.
Shading  is antique linen and Shabby shutters Distress inks, with my favourite cosmic shimmer watercolours.
The lace etc are from my stash.

I think this may also fit the Stampmans new challenge  'Circle it'.

Visiting the Dark Side.

The Chestnut   challenge for this month at Gingersnap Creations   GC 121  ' Horror Stories'.
Its 'Go with Poe' month,   The idea for this piece came from a short story, The Black Cat,  by   Edgar Allan Poe .
The text is an extract from the first page of his book, downloaded from the net.
I used Tim Holtz masks on the text, with black soot and tea dye distress inks to darken it down. The die cut, house, trees and fence are also T.H. There  is a black car sitting on the fence, I added a few sparkles to make it stand out a little.
Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

Shades of Autumn

Over at Make my Monday this weeks challenge is an Autumn theme using a Resist technique.
Another  opportunity to get out the butterscotch  dabber, a stack of distress inks including rusty hinge, brushed corderoy, bundled sage etc. The clear embossing powder was a definate. So I won't bore you with the details, but the layers were made using a selection of these items, following techniques as best I could,  that are taught by  the master of grunge Tim Holtz.
There is a little wooden leaf under the bow, but as its been a very dull day here the photos were hard to take.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate you calling.

A Card for TioT's and a Tag for GS 120

First of all my Card for the new challenge over at Try it on Tuesdays. We are back to asking you to make a card this week. Clean and simple cards seem very popular at the moment, so our theme is "Keep it Miminal".
Pop over, for all the details and see what my  super teamies have been making.
This card  is plain white, the Indigo Blue stamp is  mounted on a chocolate base.  The word stamp, I have had for ages and the shading is tea dye distress ink.

Now the tag, made for the Colour Challenge at Gingersnap Creations GC 120 Turquoise, blue and purple.
Papers came from my stash, the narrow strips I edged with a Martha Stewart  butterfly punch.
The image is a Personal Impressions stamp, the sentiment from  a Kaisercraft friendship set, all the shading  added were distress inks tumbled glass and dusty concord, with the main colouring done with cosmic shimmer watercolours.
Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate you calling.
