We are currently away in the caravan and one of the things I have away with me,
that doesn't take up too much space is my new Brusho's.
So this background is just a sprinkle of powder and a spritz with water.
The stamp is one I have had many years and is by Joanna Sheene.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, the comments you leave are always appreciated.

Hide and go Seek for SCH

We have a super new challenge starting today over at Sugar Creek Hollow its called
'Hide and Go Seek'.

What you make, must have a hidden element.
This is the tag that is hiding among the layers on this card.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we all made.

I am still mindful of using my store of papers especially the Graphics 45 pads.
So here we have some  layered up on a dry embossed base card.
Vintage Photo distress ink was used for additional shading.

Thank you for taking time to stop by, the comments you leave  me are always appreciated.

I'm watching you

This months theme over at Art Journal Journey is Living Beings.  This page evolved because I was wanting to try  this  new Dina Wakley stencil, As you can see the background was one already inked  and stencilled when I was starting my experiments with Brusho.
I like to weave a story , when I can, about the page,
the little bird on the fence has got his eye on her. the quote reads................
I want to be improbable
and beautiful, afraid of nothing,
as if I had wings.

I think he is muttering under his breath that she can't have his wings and to find her own.

thank you for stopping by to take a look. The comments you leave are always appreciated.

Autumn days

'Trees with Autumn Colours',  is the new theme at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
The stamps I used for the trees are from a Crafty Individuals set, these were double stamped to blot off the ink, giving a shadow effect. Next came a selection of distress inks, Spiced Marmalade, Barn Door and Crushed Olive. For this stage I dabbed areas with a sponge, until I was reasonably happy with the autuman shades.  I used a  Stormy Sky  ink pad for the sky.
The fir  tree is a die cut, shades with gilding wax.
I hope you will pop over and see what we all made. Our regular sponsor Flonzcraft  is offering a super prize.
Please remember that we like to see stamping as the main focus to the entries.

Thank you for calling to see what I made, the comments you leave are always appreciated.

There she Sails

I was thrilled recently when I saw I had been lucky to get  a Top 3 award at Country View  Challenges and even more excited when they asked me to be a Guest designer  for this challenge.

The theme  is Nautical.

The first item, I wanted to use was this Lynne Perrella image, which was heat embossed then water coloured. I edged this with Frantage power-Aged Aqua.
By now I was looking in the stash pile for papers to use as layers, as you can see they are from a Graphics 45 stack.
It was fun dying the netting [originally a sort of putty colour] I used paints, sprays and even acrylics, I would have preferred it to be blue like the colour my hands were,  but green it is. All the other additions came from my stash.
This was a super challenge and I enjoyed making this piece

Thank you all for stopping by to take a look. The comments you leave me are always appreciated.

Sneak Peek--day 3 for Sheena

Day three  and the last of my Sneaky Peaks  from Sheena Douglas's  new Magical collection.
I have to say that this ship will become a favourite of mine.
This time the image was stamped on to acetate. Distress inks again for the base layer. Watered down to begin with then dabbed on with the kitchen towel to create a bit of a stormy sky.
last reminder that the full set of these super stamps will be on Create and Craft tomorrow morning at 9a.m.

Sneak Peek--day 2 for Sheena

Hi Folk , here is another Sneaky peek for you from Sheena Douglas's new Magical collection.
I just love this dragon. Spiced Marmalade was the distress ink I used for the background.
Blending a little to start with then dabbing on with a scrunched up paper towel and some bubble wrap
Don't forget you can see the whole collection on create and Craft  this Friday at 9 a.m.

Sneak Peek-- day 1 for Sheena

I am showing you a 'sneak peek ' today  using one of the  new  stamps by Sheena Douglas.
Sheena will be launching  a New Magical set on Create and Craft on Friday 19th September at 9 a.m.

The background is coloured with a selection of distress inks, splodged on the craft mat then  watered down to make painting easier.  The mermaid was fussy cut before colouring.
I was so thrilled when Sheena asked me to join her Inkoids  team and I hope you will enjoy looking at these sneaky peeks  over the next few days and want to see more of this fantastic collection on C&C

King for a Day

'Recycle It'.  is the new challenge theme over at Try it on Tuesdays
as you can see on the left,  my recycling includes a piece of card packaging and  a piece of plastic covering from an embossing folder.
I embossed the plastic, lightly sanded the raised parts and then added some silver gilding wax.

This lovely Kingfisher is  from a Sheena Douglas stamp set which I water coloured and fussy cut before letting him perch on his his sign. I think he should be king for a Day. he is the only thing not recycled on this card

The matting and layer papers  had been used to cut  die cut  shapes. I do tend to use the middle of papers when die cutting as keeping the outside as a frame can come in useful.

So next up is the finished card, hope you like it

Thank you for stopping by, the comments you leave are always appreciated.
We hope you will come and see us at TioT's and show us your recycling

A Brilliant Birthday

The new challenge theme over at  Sugar Creek Hollow   is  'Word Play', and we are asked to focus on the sentiment. I have chosen to wish someone a  'Brilliant Birthday',  having the words take center stage on my card.  Please call over to get all the details and welcome our two guest designers  Karien and Maya.
Remember our style is vintage /shabby chic.
The layers all came from a paper pad from Craftwork Cards, with a little fussy cutting to add the bird matching the one beside the words.
I think you may know the shading colour, especially those to call by to visit me---Vintage Photo.

Thank you for taking time to stop by, the comments you leave are always appreciated

Living Beings

'Living Beings'. is the theme the girls over at Art Journal Journey have set for us  this month.
I had already painted and splodged and random stamped the background of the page.
Added the girls head stencil , using the left over grunge paste on another stencil randomly round the page. Distress ink was added to the stencils when they dried.  Then left it for a while as I wasn't sure what to add next,  in the space to the left. .
On a tidy up session, now don't worry, it was only to find a space to work, I didn't  get carried away.
I uncovered this bird stamp from  a Sheena Douglas set, and the page was sorted.
The bird was coloured with pencils and the girls head got a coat of gilding wax. I would like to think that they were  taking to each other and discussing the quote I added.

Thank you for taking time to stop by. The comments you leave me are always appreciated.

How does your garden Grow-- week 2

'How does your Garden Grow, ' is the  theme over at Try it on Tuesdays.. which has another week to run.
Well I don't have a pear tree but I do have apple trees
and  I did want to make a tag showing a piece of fruit.
The base is one of my random left over  pieces using stencils , stamps and inks.
The image is from Stampers anonymous, which was coloured in water colours.
I used some gilding wax to highlight the texture areas and Shabby Shutters distress ink for extra shading.

Thank you for stopping by the comments you leave are always appreciated.

Fashion, dare to be different.

'Fashion',  is the new  theme over  at  Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
I think that fashion can be interpreted in many ways, we all have our own style, so this time I decided to be a bit different and use this Lindsay Mason image and quote.  Now this quirky lady, I think,  has the look that would make you take  a second glace.
The base card was embossed  before shading with Seedless Preserves distress ink. The image was water coloured and edged with a little Vintage Photo distress ink.
Please pop over for all the details and the prize offered by our regular sponsor Flonzcraft.
Remember we like to see an Stamped image as the focus of your piece.

Thank you for stopping by, your comments are always appreciated.

Journal 52

I am a bit behind with the journal course, this is my page for week 33 which was 'Gratitude'.
I have lots in my life to be grateful for and top of my list is my home and loving family.
So being a bit nostalgic I picked out this lovely stamp from a Sheena Douglas set.
Stamped it up into my water colour journal and got out the paints.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, i do so appreciate the comments you leave.
I would also like to welcome my newest followers and thank them for  following my crafty journey

How does your Garden Grow,

At Try it on Tuesdays the theme is 'How does  your Garden Grow'.
The ideas for this theme are vast, flowers, trees, fruit, vegetables, in other words anything that grows.

I made this  shaped card using Graphics 45 papers, Vintage Photo Distress ink and a few bits an pieces. That was the easy bit,  but there were a few choice words getting the photos posted here. Everyone preferred to  turn horizontal.
Please pop over to see what we all made and come and join us in the garden.

Thank you for taking the time to call to see what I made. The comments you leave are always appreciated
