Gifts and pockets

Thank you

Above is the journal  page I made  to keep in a safe place the pieces Elizabeth sent to me to celebrate the 7th Birthday of the weekly
T stands for Tuesdays gathering where we get together to share a drinks related post

Even safer is the piece of handmade paper  that   came in the envelope.
I will use that when I have more time to create.

The cats were added digitally they wanted to join the party and visit with Bleubeard and Squiggles.

I have missed calling in for tea  for a few weeks,
but I assure you many cups have been consumed as I care for my hubby.
I chipped one of my favourite cups , but as I hate to throw things away,
it now serves as a holder for brushes and pencils.
so I hope this will be acceptable as my cuppa ,
to let me join this weeks gathering.
It may not be today but I will call in to see you soon.

My journal page includes some pockets and tags
I will join in Alisons theme of
......Pockets and tags
Stay safe everyone
and look after yourselves.

Tuesday musings

I will begin by asking myself where this last week has gone
with an apology   for my lack of visits .
Must try harder will be written on my school report  if  I were to be given one.
This page I wanted to look happy, colourful,
so I could link to Erika's theme......When its Hot..... at Art Journal Journey

Tuesday is also T day over at
where we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post
Our hosts are celebrating a special day today, the 7th Birthday of the Tuesday T day gathering.

Not tea this week, a cup of frothy instant coffee,
out of a packet that had been lurking in my cupboard for a while.

I began with  one of my usual messy backgrounds  and some cup out pieces from a free store food magazine, they weren't stuck down at this stage and I wasn't sure I was happy with this version.......off to the computer and more play time

The version on the left came next, still not happy, I was having a real crafting block, which happens frequently these days.
But I think I prefer the  fun first one with the cake to share with friends  at the end of the rainbow.

Thank you for calling in to see me , however you spend the day I hope it will be a good one for you.

Catching sunbeams and waiting for the kettle to boil

'Have fun in the sun'
a journal page for Erika's theme ...... When its Hot

This is how the base looked in my journal before I added the stamped  and  fussy cut little people.

The base was mop ups and stencils, I stamped the flowers into place then decided to fussy cut more  flower heads as my first efforts at painting them turned out a dirty grey colour as it reacted with the base colours.
The sun rays and sun faces were added in the digital program I use.

Time for an afternoon  cuppa

The espresso is brewed and I am waiting for the kettle to boil for tea.
Then I will be off to join in at
where each Tuesday we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.

However you are spending your day I hope it will be a good one for you.
Stay safe.

Tuesday's Musings

Hello everyone calling in today.
Another Tuesday and  time to go to
where we are always made very welcome  with our drinks related posts.
Where did last week go to?

Another week of   isolation and shielding,   is not easy to cope with.
Time seems to quietly disappear and I wonder what I have actually done  that day.
The highlights of the week are not about where we've been or who we've spoken to or seen,
but seeing our sons  from a suitable distance in the garden .
I do miss not being able to give them a hug.
The grocery delivery has become an event, especially this last week when I managed to order one carrot and one leek . Thankfully our youngest gets our top up shop and we all had a laugh  about mum's latest escapade with on line shopping.

In my ramblings with a friend [over the telephone] we were  talking about the long term effects and how mental health issues  could  be  a big issue in the future.
Restrictions are changing  but as yet none, that would make a big  difference   have changed for us.

The crafting gals ' Miss Mojo and Miss Inspiration'
are still taking their time to get back in the house, I hope they are enjoying themselves where ever they are.

I had a look through  a journal to see if there was a starter/mop up page that might give me some ideas and once again decided that my digital computer program would be      the  best option.
You can see  the beginnings of a stencil page by my cuppa so I do have a work in progress on the  table, I guess it could still be there in the same state two days time.

This is my first hybrid page with a  frothy coffee  for you to enjoy.

This second page with all the stitching and  clocks in the background I will link yo Halle's theme
for June at Art Journal Journey..... A stitch in time.

However you spend your day,
I hope it will be a good one for you.

Tuesday musings

Its Tuesday and its T day, where has the past week gone to....
each day is the same, we don't go out,  time drags and yet a new day will dawn.
This is my second cuppa of the day and its was  only 7.30 a.m.
So I will be joining the T gang over at
for the weekly gathering where we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.

This   is piece also shares the shelf with the clock, its a right dust gatherer but we love it as it is a constant reminder of  when we had the real live collie dogs in our home.

Our younger son is my link to the outside world this week,
with a couple of photos of the village bus shelter.

The council allowed it to be decorated for the May celebrations .

The flower planters outside were also a new addition

I think everyone is hoping they will let us keep the wall paintings inside

Miss Mojo is still walk about,
I think she is looking for  Miss Inspiration who also seems  to have gone on the missing list.
I even got the duster out,
but,  when  I came across this cross stitch on  a bedroom wall and   decided to give it a digital make over.
I cropped off the frame  and saved this  version to use.

So here is my digital page.
Adding stitching and  the original cross stitch will allow me to join
  Halle's theme  again over at
 Art Journal Journey.

Thank you for calling in, however you spend the day I hope it will be a good one for you.
Stay safe.

If you called in to see
   my take on the new
   Try it on Tuesdays theme

Ginger ale for T day

Its a glass of ginger ale I have  close to hand today.
It  has been  warm and sunny for a few days here
and I managed a short while with the  family computer.
when husband was resting, to write this T day post., so I can join
and the folk who  gather there to share my drinks related post.
Update on the Lap top.....  it has been retired,
I am looking forward to getting a replacement, but like many things these days
that will be some time in the future,
when one of my sons would be able to take me to the store.
This is one item I would want to see up close and wouldn't risk buying via the internet.
Why close you wonder, its all to do with the keyboard and how clear it looks .

So what was I working creating on the desk top computer .... another digital page

This set of photos  shared with us by out eldest are of the remains of  Beehive coke ovens
he came across while out walking in the Riverside park that is close  to our villages.
There were a number of coal mines in our area and we still have a brick works close to where I live.
This is a link to  a bit of our local history from one of the Local History societies.

What amazed me about these photos is how nature takes over  and   area is slowly reverting to how it looked before we needed to mine  the coal  , it won't be many years before these will be covered  if we don't pass on the relevant history to our children

I will be linking the page with the faux stitching to Halle's theme .....A stitch in Time
at Art Journal Journey

Thank you for calling in today,
however you spend your day I hope it will be a good one for you.

Tuesday musings

Hello everyone calling in to see me on T Day.
The weekly gathering over at
where we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.
After struggling for a few weeks on my grumpy  old laptop computer,
the poor old thing has decided to pack its bag
and go completely walk about.
I will coax it along gently over the next few days to try and get the photos I have prepared there, then   it will have to be stored away a family heirloom.

It has taken me 40 minutes  to upload this photo of my cuppa .

Add to my party , the internet issues I am having
especially with emails not being sent or received
It would be good   to escape the house for  a while.
I think this week,  lock down
and having a poorly husband has really got to me.
We have muddled along, tried to keep ourselves occupied
Our sons brought  this technical lego Land rover kit over
for my hubby to  make up, it has taken  a number of weeks
to finish, as he couldn't sit or concentrate  for long,
it  has springs and lots of other attributes that took  a lot of making,
far to technical for me.  For sure an adult toy not a little ones toy.

I  crept upstairs to finish this post on the main household computer, the lap top   has  some more photos it doesn't want to let me get to,
to  show you what I have been up to recently.
[ a few journal pages and a tag are waiting to be shared]

I apologize in advance that it will take me a while to visit you all.
However you spend the day I hope it will be a good one for you.
Stay safe and keep well.

T day.... coffee! and roses for AJJ

Its Tuesday and its T day
where we are always made very welcome   each Tuesday with a drinks related post.

Just to give a few of you a shock my choice of drink for this post is a......
 ''coffee'.....
with a frothy milky topping.

All this brew needed was the kettle of boiling water
and for me to open the packet and give it a stir. in the mug.
Not my usual brew of tea, but I did enjoy having this for a change.

My hands on  crafting time is still  limited, , although I do try to get some base layers started in my journals.

The first page  involved stencils and oxide inks.
All the images were added in the digital program I use.

A second base layer  with the same stencil

s

There was a lot of ink left on the stencil so  I sprayed it with water
and managed to get the pale softer background.
So another hybrid page created......
this one I will link up to Mia's theme.......Flowers

Thank you for stopping by
However you spend your day, I hope it will be a good one for you.

Tuesday is ..T day and a flower for AJJ.

Its Tuesday and its time to visit Bleubeard and Elizabeth for....
T stands for Tuesdays
and we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.
After a number of days seeming to all spread into one and nothing being completed,
I have a couple  journal pages to share today.
First of all  the tea was placed close by, before I started  writing the post.
This first one had a stencil and stamped background, but was finished off
with some digital images.  Alice and her friends brought their own teapot, but if it wasn't so cold here I would really enjoy one of those ice cream cones.

These  past few days, it seemed like winter was returning, so I have created another journal page for Mia's theme..... Flowers

The words gave me permission to create, so I changed the colours slightly  in the digital program I use.
Even the bumble bee has lost his yellow bands, which I have to admit don't look yellow in the original photo.

Thank you for calling in  today.
Stay safe and keep well.

Tuesdays musings.

Meet a local red  squirrel
Our eldest son came across this wood carving  when he was out  for a walk the other day, so he took me these  photos and sent its location  and it turns out that its not far from where we live.
When our restrictions are lifted I may give him a visit myself.
Not much is happening craft wise  for me, I  just don't seem to have the motivation,
although I do have a few journal pages in various stages of completion.
I wake with good intentions and  the next thing I  know its time to make dinner.

However I did remember to take a photo of the Soda bread I made this morning,
The tea as always, was on the bench and I did have a slice of warm bread and butter to help it down.

I will be calling over to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's  where each Tuesday we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.

Fast forward a few hours yesterday and I finished a journal page.........
which had to wait till this morning to get a photo.

I had  used a stencil for the background  and there was a few mop up areas as well..
Its a  Studiolight  stamp of the flower, which I stamped again and fussy cut.
after I had used water colours for the shading.
I will be  linking  this to Mia's theme at
Art Journal Journey........Flowers

Thank you for calling in and however you spend your day....
Stay safe and keep well.

Tea, mess and paint

Hello everyone who calls in to see me today.
Its Tuesday and its T day over at
 Bleubeard and Elizabeths
where we are always made to feel at home with a drinks related post.
In current times  when we all have to stay home and keep safe
it feels like calling in  to join a group of
like minded friends for a coffee morning,  where we can get together and have a good chat..

There is still a lot of tea being drunk at my dining room table
and as yet I haven't cleaned my paint brush in it, so that has to be a big plus.
This photo shows a bit of my everyday chaos. The journal page that I block stamped using a nearly dried out ink pad. My water bowl and brush peeking from behind the tea cup, left there from another  project that involved a big yellow flower.
In case you wonder we  have a kitchen table and  eating area   I think it would take a while to sort out  this table  each meal time..

I have managed to make another  page for Valerie's
 Art Journal Journey theme........
Geometric shapes, I think the old ink pads are going to have to be discarded soon. I also used some pop outs and a die cut circle shape.

We all need a lot of love these days, to show how much we care for  everyone as well as our friends and family.

Take care, stay safe and keep well. xx

Tuesday musings

Hello everyone, its Tuesday
so I am off to join Bleubeard and Elizabeth for  the weekly gathering. where everyone is made very welcome with a drinks related post.

Here is my cuppa, close to hand
and there is a mop up journal page waiting  to be worked on close by.
I would really enjoy one of those cup cakes on the page with my tea.

However my journal page  was created on the computer[notes in my sidebar].
I am finding it hard to get settled into crafting these days, maybe its  just using the dining room table instead of my craft-room, with limited supplies close by.
Motivation and Miss Mojo have gone walk about....big style.
Like many of us there isn't much happening in our part of the country,
My routine hasn't changed for many weeks.
We take each day as it comes as I look after my hubby, we rely on our sons even more just now to bring us shopping,  the hardest thing is not to be able to give them a hug, as we talk on the phone looking through the porch window.
I am mindful that they look after themselves as well and they  smile, at the lecture they get about their own safety  each time I speak to them.

I added a few words to this hybrid journal page
and tried to imagine these two having a conversation

Its getting closer to your bEARTHday Elizabeth
I send you many happy Birthday wishes

I will also  be joining Valerie's theme at
Art Journal Journey  with my fist journal page in this post.
Geometric Shapes my page has   quite a few of these.

Stay safe and keep well xx

Its Tuesday and its T day

Hello everyone who calls by today.
Its Tuesday and we are always made welcome over at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's to share a drinks related post.

The page started  of  with a messy
stencil/stamped background
and  a favourite flower stamp.
I say favourite, but if truth were told I have quite a few these days.

I added the teacup and teapot in the digital program I use.

A few folk  have been asking me about my digi program.
I have had it  a few years now and it came with a digital craft  CD that  I bought  after seeing it on a craft TV channel.  It is so easy to use and even  after a few years I am still enjoying using it.

I mustn't forget to share the photo of my cuppa today,
although  it has taken me a few tries to get it on the computer'
For some reason my camera was refusing to talk to the lap top,
I told both of them to behave themselves .
An hour later they had solved their differences
so all was calm at the dining room table.....for now.

However you spend your day I hope it will be a good one for you.
Stay safe and keep well.

Its Tuesday and its Tea Day

Hello everyone, its Tuesday so  it must be time to go over to
Bleubeard and Elizabeths and share a cuppa.
This photo shows what I was getting up to on the dining room table yesterday.
A digital page on the computer, which I shared in the previous post.
A stamped image, coloured with watercolour paint and of course my mug of tea.

I love this image  showing  the tenderness between
the lady and her feline friend.
I thought of Bleubeard and Squiggles and how much your fur babies must  mean to you Elizabeth
as I was creating this page. The companionship our animals give to us, cannot be told in words and I treasure the memories our animals gave to us over the years.

I added the background colouring  and leaf frame in the digital program I use

Stay safe and well  everyone.
