She loves Art

A journal page using up some scraps from the pile I tipped up on the table.

It was  a mop up background to start with to which I added some strips of washi tape.

This is a photo of how it looked with a few of the bits and pieces and  die cuts,  before I started sticking them all  down  . I could have added even more but decided to stop . the pile was never going to get any smaller, no matter how many pieces I picked out.

I even added a few digital pieces while I was in the crafting mood.

I will link to Jo's theme.... Texture

 at Art Journal Journey

Thank you for calling in today, your visit is always appreciated.

This page would also fit the theme at Try it on Tuesdays..Use your scraps

Use your Scraps at TioT's

A page in my journal using a few of the scraps and bits and pieces that I save in case they could be useful.
I think we all have these lurking around our craft space, so the new challenge theme over at
Use your scraps.
Have some fun and join us at TioT's.

I used a few of these scraps on the page and  I have to say the pile looks just as big
as it did  when I started.

Thank you for calling in today,
 stay safe and well everyone.

The cycle ride followed by a nice cup of tea

I  enjoyed making this   digital silhouette styled  page as a reminder   for the theme
Create  a scene  at....
 Try it on Tuesdays
which has another week  for you to join in .
Its the end of the day and the bikers are returning home

It will also be my last  entry to Halle's theme at
Art Journal Journey.
Where she has hosted  and inspired us this past month with her theme...
A Stitch in Time.
Thank you Halle
Like all my journal stitching the page was framed with digital stitches.

We used to cycle as  a family when they were young, especially on holidays,
the first thing I would do when we got home was to put the kettle on for a brew,
the family preferred a cool iced drink but ,Tea has always been my go to drink

Hello friends at Bleubeard and Elizabeths
where we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.
My tea is beside me as I write up this post,
Yorkshire Tea is my brand of choice,
a traditional blend that I can drink with a splash of milk
or strong and dark depending on how I am feeling at the time.

Thank you for calling in today,
you are always welcome here.
 Stay safe.

Train Spotting... Masculine TioT

Make it Masculine
is our new theme for the next two weeks at.... Try it on Tuesdays

Above is the Birthday card I made for my husbands birthday a few weeks ago.
I used an ALL& Create train stamp.
I knew this theme was coming up  at Try it on Tuesdays and have to admit its s subject I do have difficulties with. So I saved the photo and opened  up my digital computer program
This  next photo is the result of my  playtime. I now have a digital male  themed Birthday card that I will be able to use in the future .
I hope you will join us for this theme, please pop over to see what we have all been making and get all the details.

Thank you for calling in, stay safe..

Lovely Ladies...... at TioT's

Lovely Ladies......
is the new theme at Try it on Tuesdays.
WE hope you will join us there, please pop over to see how  the TioT's gang  interpreted the theme and to get all the details.

My page began with a splashed
mop up background and I added the fun gals. These were die cut pop outs from a [ StudioLight paper pad.]
This lovely trio love hats and couldn't decide which one to wear , so I pilled a few up in case they change their mind at the last minute before they go out.

Thank you for calling in today.
However you spend your day stay safe and well.

If you called in for T day, please scroll down to my earlier post

Black/White and one other colour.... at TioT's

The new theme for the next two weeks at Try it on Tuesdays is.......
Black/White and one other colour.
Please pop over to see what everyone has  been making and
read the good news  that we are sharing today.
We are very happy to tell everyone that
  Valerie
is returning to our TioT's Design team..

This is how the page began in my hands on  journal, before I started playing in the digital program I use and added the faux stitching. My colour choice to add was yellow water colour paint.
The stamp is from ALL&Create

I even tried making a card  to send via an email for a friends Birthday but it looks so wonky I changed my mind. Even digital makes can go wrong and end up in my  computers crafty bits and pieces box/file..... that could  come in handy.
Yes I do have one, that I check out and send to the trash now and again..

Thank you for calling in and I hope you will join the TioT's gang, we'd love to see you there.

Stay safe and keep well.

Used a mop up background and shaded in the pathway.
The trees, sun  and words were digital additions.

Its all about Green

Salt
An old technique revisited..... and one that still needs loads of practise and some patience  from me.

I had stamped the flower I wanted to use and covered it with a mask.
Pressed the distress ink pad directly to my page, sprinkled it with course grain salt, sprayed with water and covered it with cling wrap.
Sounds okay so far

The page on the left is another try using the same
technique but with a different shade of green.
hard to tell on the photos.
I did help this page on its way to drying out and used a paper tissue to soak up the water.

The colour green is much paler on this page, I added the fussy cut girl and added  a digital frame..

The words read.....

Some things just fill your heart without trying.

Welcome to my corner of the dining room table,
this is my crafty space these days, I still have the cuppa close by   and think of the folk  who visit Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T day. Tuesday just flew past again this week.
Making plans isn't an option these days, my mantra of
' one day at a time'
that you have heard from me  before,  is very relevant in our home.

I had two challenge themes in mind  for these pages.
Green.......
which is Eileens theme over at

and a reminder
current theme...... A new technique.

Thank you for calling in today, your visit is really appreciated and I  will catch up as soon as I can

New techniques at TioT's

The  theme for the next two weeks over at Try it on Tuesdays is.......
New Techniques

I often use my stencils on mop up pages in my journal, but for this theme
I have decided to use them as stamps. A quick and easy  technique.

I used distress oxide to colour the stencil, sprayed it with water
[just like I do for a mop up].
Pressed down onto the page just like a stamp,
kitchen paper  soaked up the  excess water.
Chose another colour and repeated the process,

The stamps I added are from  All&Create,
I hope you will pop over to see the techniques the TioT gang have been trying and share your art with us there.

Thank you for stopping by, you are always welcome here.

A sheltering tree

Love is a Sheltering Tree.

The idea for this page began when a friend called in bringing me some  old cards she had received.
This one with the two owls on the tree branch    already die cut  just needed me to re -purpose. it   all  I needed was a die cut of my own to cut it out.
The words were computer generated

I used a favourite heart stencil for the background to the page which allows me to share this page at Art Journal Journey
for Bleubeard and Elizabeth's theme.... Hearts

I chose to use the colour green  and  my recycled card  giving me the opportunity to remind folk about the current Try it on Tuesdays  theme
Green or Recycle It
where Bleubeard and Elizabeth are the Guest hosts for this theme .

Thank you for calling in to see me, your comments are really appreciated.

Go Green at TioT's

A new theme  starts today over at Try it on Tuesdays.
Go Green or Recycle It
The choice  is yours......
Go Green..... the colour green to be the main shades you use
or
Recycle Something
Please pop over and see  how the team interpreted the theme  and the
fantastic recycling project that out Guest Designer   has shared with us. ]

I decided to GO  GREEN  for my journal page.
With a  green water colour wash for the base of the page, some random stamping using the assortment of stamps that were lurking on my desk.

I also added a die cut image with some hearts and leaves.
On the left is how she looked    before I gave her and my page  a green make over in the digital program I use,

Thank you for calling in today you are very welcome here
and I hope you have a good day.

Share some love....... at TioT's

Share some love......
is the new theme for the next two weeks  over at
Please pop over to see the inspiration pieces the team have been creating there.

This journal page has a mop up background, then  the additions added in the digital  computer program I use[ notes in my side bar]
I used the digital die cut heart again to frame the  silhouette couple.

The quote reads.....
When I saw you
I fell in love
and you smiled,
because you knew.

I will also be linking this page to the theme
chosen for us by Bleubeard and Elizabeth
over at Art Journal Journey.....Hearts

White space at TioT's....... A memorable day

White space or Colourful Grunge

is the theme for the latest challenge at
Now many friends calling in here know that white space is something I have trouble with,
but I have tried to leave some on this page, There is a bit of grunge as well with the shaded edges and random stamping.

Using the same flower stamp   I made this single layer Birthday card as well

That is the end to my memorable crafting session, I did leave a bit of white space
although I will go back sometime to the journal  and cover the white with..........grungy colour.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are always welcome here.

Make someone smile today at TioT's

A journal page for the first challenge
of the year over at  Try it on Tuesdays.
The theme we have chosen is.....
What a cutie or Make someone smile today
I hope you can pop over to see what we have all been making.

The background of this page came about because I don't like wasting inks.  I had used a new stencil on a previous page and there was still lots of colour on the surface. So I spayed it with water and pressed it down on a new page rubbing it over with a piece of kitchen roll.
All the images and words were computer generated,
[before it declared that it wasn't going to work  and play nice any more] It will be at least 10 days before I get any news on what the repair will entail.
There was a bit of a plus, there was still one month left on its insurance agreement..

Thank you for calling in, I hope you are having a good day today.

I will also link my page to Jo's theme at
Art Journal Journey........ Something New
, the page includes  my new [and favourite ] stencil .

Cold. cold. cold at TioT's

Its ..........Cold, Cold, Cold.
A winter theme for the challenge , we wonder how you will interpret this topic , we had fun, please pop over to see what we made and we hope you will join us there.

I have created a winter scene in my digital journal. It won't be long before we get winter snow, everything seems calm  in the countryside, but thoughts should be spared for the animals who find a way through the winter in some awful conditions
. We are so lucky to have our warm homes.

Thank you for calling in today,
you are always very welcome here.
I will also be joining in at......
AEDM day 12

Colours of Autumn at TioT's 29 Oct

Colours of Autumn is the new theme over at
Try it on Tuesdays
Please call over and see what we have all been making
and we hope you will join us there.

This is how my page began with autumn shades of watercolour paint and some random stamping.
I had hoped to collect some autumn leaves to dry out and add to the page, but things didn't go to plan.
However I do have  my computer and lots of digital pieces [notes in my sidebar]   that allows me to still create journal pages and enjoy crafting.
The bonus is I still have a nice background to use  sometime soon.

Thank you for calling in today, you are always very welcome here.

Its a scary theme at TioT's

Witches/Wizards/Halloween
is the new challenge theme at Try it on Tuesdays.

My page began with this super die cut,  which  Avril sent to me.
The page was simply watercoloured to begin with and was finished with extra images from the digital computer
 program I use.

I hope Wilma the witch realises she is scaring her cats
with that  spooky looking brew.

We hope you will join us and have some Halloween fun,

Party Animals. for TioT's

Animal Magic.....
is the new theme over at Try it on Tuesdays
Please pop over for all the information and details.
We have enjoyed creating our DT pieces and look forward to seeing your take on this theme..

My page started off  in my journal,
here are a few photos of the stages....

Stamped and fussy cut animals, painted in bright colours. A brick wall stencil in my Ktaft paper journal was used as the background.
They looked like they were enjoying themselves and posed for a group photo.
I then let my imagination go and decided  to change things a bit in the digital program I use.

Lets Party, the animals said.
We need cake they said,
Invite  the neighbours round.
Turn up the  disco lights and music.
Lets have some fun.

Thank you for calling in today to see what I have been making,
I hope you all have a good day.

In my garden there is.... at TioT's..

In my garden there is........
flowers, insects and butterflies.

This is my journal page for the new theme over at TRy it on Tuesdays
In my garden there is....

We wonder what  will be in your garden, and hope you will have fun with this theme.
A few  shades of yellow watercolour for the background and a large flower stencil, followed by a variety of stamps . I love to see the insects visiting the flowers, but keep a good distance from the biting variety. Butterflies are always so pretty to see.

Please pop over to TioT's for all the information and to see how the DT interpreted the theme.

Thank you for calling in today, you are always very welcome here.
