Slap it on

Cats, what would they say if they could talk?

This is my journal page for the new
Try it on Tuesdays challenge theme....
Slap it on.
A fun theme where we can have fun, slap on the paint, ink , layer the papers etc..
Please pop over  for the details and to see what we have all been making

The page began with a water colour wash and a raised wall stencil.

I added  a bit more paint using a damp baby wipe, it covers a larger area quicker  than using a brush.
Let it dry, before layering on  the pieces of torn napkin. I love these sweet cats.
Extra shading with some oxide inks ,  then some leafy  foliage stamps when it had all dried out.
Adding layers  like this I have learnt that drying time is just as important as having fun.
The final addition was the computer generated wording.

I will also be adding this page to
  Art Journal Journey
where I am hosting this month's theme
A world of fantasy....
now wouldn't it be good if we could look at the world through the eyes of our family pets and see what they see and have  them  able  to tell us how it looks to them.......
..................................
...........................................
I am off now to visit with friends over at
Bleubeard and Elizabeths
where each Tuesday we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post

There is my cuppa for today, sat close by as I was adding the words to my journal page.
While I was there  I made a fantasy  digital page, using some Alice in Wonderland images, tea cups and cakes of course had to be added as well as an invitation to join me for  a cuppa.

Ooops nearly forgot to share a photo of my Washi tape collection.   Last week  Eileen and Halli shared photos of their collections and wow they do have an  amazing  variety of  tapes. I think this hoarding bug hasn't hit me yet, but that's not saying it won't in the future.

Thank you for calling in to see me  and I hope you have a great day.

Up, up and away

I am having a quiet and leisurely look at the  world today.
My fantasy  would be to take a ride in a hot air balloon.
It would have to be a warm, sunny day.
My wish  would be to overcome my fear of flying so I could at least think of travelling this way.

My page began by using this page in my colouring book as my starting point.
I blended it onto one of my base journal pages in the digital program I use, then added the other images and words.

I will be sharing this at
where  I am happy to be hosting this month's theme
A world of Fantasy.

Thank you for visiting me, your comments are always very much appreciated.

Who said this is not art

Hello  friends who call in from
where........ T stands for Tuesday
and we are welcome with a drinks related post.
Thank you all for your kind wishes last week, as you see I am managing to craft.....digital pages.
I am lucky to have had some  DT and diary projects  already  made.

This weeks drinks  photo was taken in the caravan,
hubby had assembled a cherry scone for me to have with my cuppa.......
filled with orange jam with a spoon of thick cream on top.
have my word for it , it tasted yummy.

My digital page was fun to make and kept me occupied for quite a while,
as did typing up this post
and the quote is one I really can relate to.
I would be stir crazy if I didn't have this crafting path to follow. until I can get hands on ink  again.
I've never been one to sit around, indoors  knitting, sewing, embroidery  were  my hobbies
before I got the crafting bug.
I do however enjoy reading, there is nothing better than  getting engrossed with  a good book in the evening.. I am currently reading ...... The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton..... half way through it and I find it hard to put down, its a super book..

I will add my digital page to
and Chris's theme...
Art for Arts Sake
Happy T day wishes and thank you for calling in today.

Old ways won't open new doors.

Well,  as you know I am having to learn many ways to do things  with only one hand at the moment.
Crafting withdrawl symptoms  are coming high on my list of things to overcome .
I have  to find a way around this matter.
Only another 24 days  until I may be able to say, goodbye to the splints.
I have sprayed a couple of pages with ink, looked at some stamps, but that is as far as hands on pages have  progressed.
I will be sharing  digital pages here on my main blog for a while,[ notes in my sidebar]
so you can see how I am spending my time.
I have a few new  digital kits to explore and use,  no inky fingers to wash off with this page.
Lots of layers and effects, that I think,  look a bit  like a mixed media page

If the folk from
Art Journal Journey
won't mind my all digital pages, I will happily come over and join Chris's theme.
Arts for Arts Sake.
Thank you Elizabeth and Susi, I have been over to AJJ and joined in.

Thank you for calling in today, you are all very welcome here.

Time to remember

Remembrance Day.
Time to remember
the men and women  from all the countries of our world.
Who throughout the years past and  present,
 served their countries
 and gave  their lives
for the freedom and safety of others.

A colourful page and a Steampunk tag

Colour outside the lines

How quickly this month has passed,
not many more days of September to share with you
The ' Colours in my World'.......
which is my theme choice  as a Guest Hostess  for......

On the left of this photo is some of the coloured napkins I have been using, [these were gifted by a non blogging friend]
one of the easiest papers to use  as long as I remember to glue  them to a  page that hasn't been water coloured.

I wanted a colourful background today as I thought this scribbled digital image would  stand out on top of a white gesso patch.

.........................................
............................................
Now for a  digital tag so I can join the current challenge over at

Tag Tuesday

the theme  is................
 Steampunk

Thank you for  calling in to see me today , you are most welcome here
and I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Colouful dreams.... for AJJ

 'Colour in my World'  for.....
Art Journal Journey

Today I asked myself a question... do I dream in colour?
To be perfectly honest I don't know, but if I did,  I think I would like it to be soft tones  shades, that have a calming influence. It would be a happy place to be
and I think blues would be my prefered colour choices.

Today's page is all digital, although I have added it to what I call my digital journal, which is a photo of one of my own colour washed journal pages.

I am also adding a reminder today for the current Try it on Tuesdays challenge
Stitch It,
which is the theme until next Tuesday.

Thank you for calling in today, you are all most welcome here.
Digital information can
be found in my sidebar.

Reading Books

Back to School is the theme over at

I did begin this tag with a couple of my own base layers
before  adding more details in my digital program.
A watercolour base and a piece with some raised stencils.

I also added these  two,  found relatives children.
Who were standing so still for their photo, that they forgot to smile.

I have also used this tag with more digital altering for a journal page

I have  always read and enjoyed a good book,
hence it is books that have given me the inspiration for this page for Jo's theme
 Poetry in Motion  over at

If you get so engrossed in the story you are reading,
you just have to read ''just one page '' more.
Books have momentum all of their own.
My current reading group book is by Alan Furst   ''Spies of the Balkans''
and one that  I cannot put down, it has its own motion as the story unfolds.

Thank you for calling in today to see me, you are always very welcome here.

Please see sidebar for
digital information.

Post cards,,, at TioT's

Postcards
is the new theme  at Try it on Tuesdays.

The prompts are to make/design a postcard or.....
include one in your project.
Again the DT have shared some fantastic examples, so please pop over to take a look
and we hope you will join us.

Its the 1st of August today and many folk will be on holiday right now,
possibly somewhere hot and sunny if you live in the Northern Hemisphere
I added this quote to my postcard....

Once a year go someplace
you have never been before.

Maybe this is something you like to do when you go on holiday
then  searching  out a postcard to send back home to family and friends.
Showing the area where you are staying

I made a digital card, showing in the background my love of visiting old houses.
Also an beautiful  plumed bird , something I would have liked to see in its native habitat.
But I think it would be hard to take the caravan to this exotic places,
I will stick to the UK where there are so many places still on my future destinations list.

Thank you for calling in to see me today,
your visit is always appreciated.

Digital information can be
found in my sidebar.

Summer mornings.

Digital  journal pages today to share over at

where there is still a few more days for me to join  in with Bleubeard and Elizabeth's
 fantastic theme of Summer Love.

This first one had me thinking of a misty summer morning ,
when the sun is trying is best to break through the haze.
We live close to the River Tyne and often the valley is hidden by mists and low clouds ,
a scene perhaps we take for granted as we know it doesn't last for long.

My hazy summer sunshine has moved a few hundred miles
and taken me on a trip to Paris for this next page.
Its many years since I visited this city, but it was summer time and I loved the trip.

Thank you for calling in today to see me, your visit is always appreciated.

Digital information  can
be found in my sidebar.

T.day......plant pots and journals.

Hello friends who call in to share a cuppa today.
make us all welcome each Tuesday  on  their blog
when we share a drinks related post.
Today,  at T. stands for Tuesday its their  4th Anniversary , many congratulations,
it is a warm and friendly blog to visit and everyone is made to feel at home.

Last week I shared some photos taken when we visited Settle of the many plant pot art that was around the town. Here are a few more......

Outside the toy shop.
The rocket was ready for take off.
The tractor had all the children wishing they could take a ride.

The dog was patiently waiting  for his owner to come out and take him for a walk.

The spider, gave me quite a fright when I saw it on the wall of this house.

A bee and the pirate, were just happy to be out in the sunshine.

The newly married couple were off on their honeymoon.
I was amazed at all the art we saw and the imagination and care that was put into making it a wonderful day out for the visitors to the town.

I have been making a couple of digital pages that also include flower pots, not nearly as exciting as the ones in my photos.  I will share them over at
Art Journal Journey
where Bluebeard and Elizabeth are hosting this months theme
Summertime Love

Gardens can give us so much pleasure especially in the summer time.
We can sit in the sun or shade or even long into the evening.   How the colours change as the darkness falls can be magical. It is one of life's joys to be at one with nature.

My last photo is to share with you a little piece of my Sunday afternoon treat  and my cuppa.
We had been out all morning  and for lunch, but managed to get back to the caravan in time to watch most of the Men's  Wimbledon Tennis final,
where Roger Federer won in the final, creating a new record  number of wins at this venue.
My treat was strawberries and gingerbread  and I was very good, no cream.

This is my last post from this caravan trip,  I have even been lucky this time to get internet reception.
We are travelling home Tuesday morning, so it will be later when I get to visit you all.
Thank you for calling in to see me .
Happy T day everyone.

Where I love to spend summer. for AJJ

Summertime Love  at
are hosting and inspiring us this month.

When I read your  last blog posts Elizabeth,
I just had to take a photo of the caravan  to share.
Another digital page from me,  from a sunny Yorkshire Caravan club site.
We are having a lazy day . the sun is shining, the lap top  computer is fired up
and we have an internet connection. Playtime begin.......

First to share are a couple of photos  taken  just a short walk from the caravan.

Turner liked this view and it is a favourite of ours.

I  was  colouring in this page last night, another more recent caravan pass time as a few pencils and colouring pens as well as a computer are easier to pack for travelling.

We are in woodland and the birds are lovely to listen to
and see if we are lucky.

I am back on the birds and how summer brings more to our shores. So imagination takes me to renting out homes for birds to take a holiday.

Thank you for calling in to see me today.
You are all welcome here.

Digital information can be
found in my side bar.

The Beach

The new challenge theme at
is............ The Beach.

I've had fun and made  a couple of tags.
This first one was made using Graphics 45 papers and a few bits and bobs from my junk box.
Plain cutting and sticking for this tag and no messy fingers,
well apart from spreading the glue with my fingers over the material scraps and twine.

This second one was made in my digital program [notes in my sidebar].

Thank you for taking time to call in to see me today. You are always welcome here.

Feathered friends at TioT's.

Feathered Friends
is the new challenge theme over at Try it on Tuesdays.
The girls are sharing a fantastic variety of projects, please pop over to take a look.
We hope you will come and join us.

Its a digital card from me today.
I can get inky messy layers with clean hands using this type of crafting and even change the colour if I didn't like it first time.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are very welcome here.

Paint your dream

A grungy, hybrid,  digital page today.
There are  a few layers of paint on my journal page, the photo taken, then a lot of the images
have  been added  in the digital program I use..
But as you can see the paint had a will of its own  and I even managed  to paint the wires that hold the book together.
I will join the folk at
for Gills theme of  Elegance and Grunge.
I hope the flower will fit the elegant part of the theme, the rest is just grungy mess.

Thank you for calling in today.
You are most welcome and your comments are always appreciated.

Solitude and reflections.

Its a digital page from me today for
and the lovely theme Gill has chose for us this month.....
Elegance and Grunge..
I started off using a  page from an old French book that I found in a Charity shop,
Not on the shelves,  but in a box on the floor beside the counter....
It had no cover and  pages missing. Unsalable the staff said, its destined to be thrown away,
but to me it was the find of the day. I happily put a donation in their box.
I added more layers and the image in my digital program  [notes in my sidebar].

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are most welcome here.

A tag and a Journal Page.

the new theme which Chrissie is hosting  is....... Faces.
Being away last week, meant that  there are  many chores to be done around the house.... but....
I needed a little time to to get a bit inky again this afternoon.
The background of the tag is daubed with inks  then stencilled.
The stamp I think may be a Wendy Vecci.
After taking the photo I noticed I had made a right mess on the bow  with glue,
no worries into the computer program and I added a few leaves and a flower.
Messy mistake covered up.

I also made a digital journal page for the new theme that Gill
has chosen for this month at Art Journal Journey
Elegance and Grunge

I think this may fit both those words with the lovely ladies
and the messy torn pages and papers for the background.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are always welcome here.

Heritage tags

Heritage
is the theme at  Tag Tuesday
When I read the post Wilma had chosen the theme because their post went live on
 World Heritage Day.
My first thought was of a city in the next county to ours  Durham
This  Tag is  showing  Durham Cathedral [This is a link if you would like more information].
It is a digital tag with internet searched  photos.

This tag was made with bits and pieces always to be found lurking in my craft room.
Stickers, papers, die cuts  the photo is a  TH found relative  etc.

I thought I would tell you my thoughts behind this tag.
We were away with friends and family on Easter Sunday .
The parents  arranged an egg  hunt for the children and we saw them searching and gathering eggs , having fun,  their laughter was quite infectious. It was good to see some of the old pastimes being still used by
 today's modern families.
What even made this more special was that after the search, they counted their eggs and......................
then shared them, so every one had  a fair share of the eggs.... Magical moments.

Thank you for calling in today, you are most welcome here.
