Meet a local red squirrel
Our eldest son came across this wood carving when he was out for a walk the other day, so he took me these photos and sent its location and it turns out that its not far from where we live.
When our restrictions are lifted I may give him a visit myself.
Not much is happening craft wise for me, I just don't seem to have the motivation,
although I do have a few journal pages in various stages of completion.
I wake with good intentions and the next thing I know its time to make dinner.
However I did remember to take a photo of the Soda bread I made this morning,
The tea as always, was on the bench and I did have a slice of warm bread and butter to help it down.
I will be calling over to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's where each Tuesday we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.
Fast forward a few hours yesterday and I finished a journal page.........
which had to wait till this morning to get a photo.
which had to wait till this morning to get a photo.
I had used a stencil for the background and there was a few mop up areas as well..
Its a Studiolight stamp of the flower, which I stamped again and fussy cut.
after I had used water colours for the shading.
I will be linking this to Mia's theme at
Art Journal Journey........Flowers
Thank you for calling in and however you spend your day....
Stay safe and keep well.
Here I am ....after a long time...I feel a bit ashamed. I did a bit of a catch up and enjoyed the lovely creations you made. The flowers...the colors....It's a joy to be here. Thank you for your inspiration. I hope you are all okay in this difficult time and I wish things will be better soon for all of us.
ReplyDeleteStay healthy and have a lovely day. xxx Plony
Love that squirrel. I saw one today on my walk, but a real one. Your journal page is gorgeous, love that flower, so beautifully cut and styled. And that bread looks wonderful, so yummy! Home made bread never lives long here....Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteLovely artwork and photos. I'm having trouble with creative motivation right now, too. I think it's partly due to the underlying stress due to worry about covid-19. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteThat squirrel is pretty cute. That would be worth a find. And your flowers are gorgeous. They really pop off that background and are sure eye catching. And a nice cup of tea always makes the moment better. Especially with some homemade bread. Yum. I hope you are having a super T day and you find some art time and motivation too. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteLovely flower in a beautiful color. I saw also fun animals on my walk near by another day early in the morning. I wondered what is happening when I saw several bunnies jumping here and there 🐰🐰🐰😊 May be they enjoyed Spring 🌺
ReplyDeleteHave a healthy and happy day 💗
Good morning, your journal page is really lovely. Very cool carved squirrel! I haven't made soda bread in a long time-I have a gluten free recipe that is really good too. that was me last week no motivation at all-our weather has turned quite cold this week-Happy T hugs Kathy
ReplyDeleteFirst, before I forget, that journal page is incredible. I love it. I love the warm spring colors you chose, and that beautiful background, too. This is a real joy to see and a lovely entry for Mia's theme at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteHow fun that your son found that squirrel on his walk. When the humans are at bay, the animals will play (grin).
Wow, Yvonne. I'm super impressed with your incredible bread. How I want some bread right now. It looks wonderful and would go perfectly with a bit of butter and your tea.
Thanks for sharing your gorgeous journal page, your superb baking, and your tea with us for T this Tuesday, my dear friend.
Is there really nothing you regret?
ReplyDeleteI regret not standing up for myself so often, especially in working life.
Love the squirrel, haven´t seen ours in a while...
A beautiful page Yvonne, and the squirrel is fabulous. I haven't seen our squirrel lately, but I saw a family of foxes yesterday, so maybe that's why. The 3 cubs were adorable.

Beautiful flower stamp and journal page. Love the color! I've been thinking about doing some bread baking myself again. Perhaps next week I'll have something to share....time will tell if my intentions stay with me:) Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a find! A red squirrel! Such fun.
ReplyDeleteI am impressed with your soda bread. Perhaps I will make some again soon. Yours looks really yummy.
Your page is gorgeous. Those fussy cut flowers are so pretty.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Mojo comes and goes for me at the moment - flickering into life and then vanishing for days. Glad yours flickered to light up that lovely floral page. The stencilling is really pretty and those watercolour flowers are gorgeous, so worth the fussy-cutting to get that pop of dimension and movement. The soda bread looks pretty darn good too!

The red squirrel made me smile, so nice of your son to send you photos - fabulous! Your soda bread looks delicious and the rabbit with glasses mug is perfect too! Wow, what a gorgeous page! I'm loving the bright flowers against the pretty stenciled background that you created - amazing 😁. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteCute squirrel. Taking a walk over to see him in person will be something to look forward to. Such a pretty page and I like the way the petals give the page some dimension. I'm taking a break and a slice of that soda bread would be perfect right now. Take care and Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteYvonne, I hope your movitation comes back soon! The squirrel is beautiful and I am sure that soon you will be able to "visit" him. Your page is gorgeous! I love the romantic background and the big bright flowers. Thank you for entering my challenge at AJJ! Kisses!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh, I have days like that, Yvonne. These are very strange times we're living in. And you and your hubby have an additional challenge to deal with. Some days I wander in a fog not sure what I should be doing. Other days, I can cope. I'm sending positive thoughts for you both.
ReplyDeleteThe squirrel is very cute. I hope you'll get to see him up close and personal soon.
Your "Never Regret" page is beautiful. It brings Edith Piaf's song to mind.
Happy T-Day! Eileen xx
A slice of that bread with butter would be a real treat :) The squirrel will be a fun outing once we can have casual outings again. I'm looking forward to that. Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteYour journal page is SO elegant. I really like the bright flowers in contrast to your background.
ReplyDeleteYour soda bread and tea sound delicious! I would love a slice.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

ReplyDeletecute happy squirrel..xx
There's nothing better than fresh warm bread with butter, scrummy.
ReplyDeleteI love your journal page, you did a great job, it's very pretty and I like the stenciled BG too.

very nice this squirrel!
ReplyDeleteThis wondervol Journal page with Flowers! The Background is fatanstic!
Have a good day, Elke
That page is stunning! What a gorgeous flower and what a fabulous colour you have used for it.
ReplyDeleteI like how you have used the stencil in the background - not overpowering the whole page but just as a subtle hint almost (hope you understand what I am trying to say here). I like the fine black imagery behind the flower and not know the stamp I have no idea whether it came with the flower image or you added it but it looks just perfect sitting there. So delicate it gives the flower even more impact and you have achieved that impact even more with making it dimensional. I really love this.
Hugs, Neet xx
This wood squirrel is so lovely Yvonne !! Great work.
ReplyDeleteI loove your Art journal page, the stencils are beautiful, and you created a wonderful background. Love the happy flowers too.
Have a very nice afternoon, stay safe, and big hugs,
Caty
Cute squirrel and beautiful page.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
I am digging your color choices. The warms again. Not usually this way but this Spring my head has been full of flowers, must be my motif. And it would be nice if a few more jumped out and landed on some paper for me, huh? LOL XOX
ReplyDeleteThats a gorgeous journal page Yvonne - I have the same trouble getting motivated, and by the time I do it's time to stop and get on with other things! I love these flowers and your fabulous stencilled background! I think I need to have a throw out of things that are getting in my way but with no charity shop open and no access the the room we store the messy day day things in I just have to hang on to it! I have been thinking about making some soda bread - I was given the recipe by a mother of one of my pupils years ago and it is the best recipe I have ever tried! I hope you can go and see that squirrel soon! A very belated Happy T day! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful flower moment! Those wood carvings are very nice too, it will be nice if you can get to see them before too long.
