Follow your dreams.

Follow your dreams.
Do you dream? can you remember them?  or do you wake and its all a  blur that you cannot explain.
In our modern and busy lifestyle these days, there never seems to be time to just enjoy the moment.

However, I can escape into my craft room and allow myself time  get  out the inks  and enjoy  a while  creating pages in my journals.

This page is material so I used oxide inks on the stencil for the background.
The fabric image was gifted to me.
I think it looks like a modern couple enjoying the magic of being together .
I added a few die cuts and pieces of washi tape and stopped myself from adding more. bits.

I will be joining.....
Erika's theme of Vintage and Modern at
 Art Journal Journey
and

AEDM day 14
Art Every Day

Thank you for calling in today, you are always welcome here.

Friends and Family.

Friends and Family..... is the theme for the next two weeks at
 Try it on Tuesdays.

Please pop over to see  how  the DT  interpreted this theme
and we hope you will join us there.

An inked and stencil layered background.
A bit of random stamping and two best friends  [Stampotique images].
I used water colours and oxides inks for shading.
Friends are the family we choose for ourselves and I am sure
these two will be friends forever.

......................................

Its also T stands for Tuesdays over at
Bleubeard and Elizabeths

where we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.
This will be a surprise to a few of you as I am sharing a cup of coffee with you this week.

I had left my OH in the book shop whilst I went off to do a bit of shopping and joined him later.
I couldn't say no to this cuppa as the smell of coffee in the book  shop was wonderful.
Did you notice on the table they were
promoting a book by Michelle Obama,
has anyone read it?
I think I will ask our library if they have it on the shelves and put in an order to read it.
.........................
Now a bit of recycling on a grand scale....
In the next village to ours Heddon on the Wall they have just unveiled this wood tree  sculpture.
I am not sure of the details, but the tree had  to come down.
So the local folk got in touch with  Tommy Craggs  who specialises
in tree sculpture.  I found a link if you would like to see more of his work .

The wood was stained to show up all the detail and it looks fantastic.

Thank you for calling in to see me  and I hope you all have a great day

Thoughts and Dreams

A page in my kraft paper journal today
A quick wipe over with  what seems to be my favourite medium these days....white gesso.
The stamps I used are from ALL&create. I fussy cut the  quirky flower and added some scraps of materials.   The words are from  one of Lynne's affirmation sets.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are always very welcome here.

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day 2018
This year , today is the  100th Anniversary of the end of the First World War.

A day to remember not only these brave  men and women,
but the men and women from all the countries of our world.
Who throughout the years in  past and present times,
have served their countries
and gave their lives
for the freedom and safety of others.

Grunge and a cover up job........

Sometimes my journal pages do not go to plan.
 and this page didn't.
The background was splashed and sprayed with paint on top of book papers.
I had stamped the image separately and tore around the edges,
but could I get it to stick down.....no chance.
It was starting to look a real muddy colour.
I tried to remove the image  but it was tearing away the base layers.
Modeling paste through a stencil worked better to keep it in place.
.
They say,   'Art is good for you' and  there is always a, ' right time'...... in this case it wasn't....  'now'.

I could have torn the page from the book, but  creating isn't always a success and I  embrace
the fact,  that  some days work out better than others  my the craft room.

Thank you for calling in , have a smile at my grungy  art,
which looks to me,  even more messier than I usually create.
I don't mind in the least
I took the courage to share it with you today.

I've also  altered it in the digital program I use,
This version  is a bit brighter. What  would I do without gesso.

I think these two pages may fit Erika's theme of
 Vintage and Modern  at
One looks old and the other quite modern.

Tell the story

A page with a messy background that I decided to leave and not add more as it would have ended  looking  more of a mess.
These two young sisters were chatting about what they wanted to do when they grew up.........
'fashion models'.
I use TH stamps and the found relatives.
I hope they do  realise their dreams.

Thank you for calling in today, you are always welcome here.

I will be joining Erika's theme Vintage and Modern
 at Art Journal Journey.
An advance Thank you Susi , for linking this for me.
