Orange, white and black

An inky and messy play time that began by thinking about the current
challenge theme....Black, white and one colour.

For this journal page [Jane Davenport]  I used the  colour option as my main choice,
white as the base layers and adding touches of black through the stencils
and on the main focal stamps.
Lots of All&create stamps were used as well as my favourite go to...stencil..
a variety of orange inks, muslin and torn papers.
I added the stitching in  the digital program I use.
......................................................................................

I will also join the folk at at Art Journal Journey.

where Linda's theme for this month is....... Creature Comforts.
I thought about how I feel when I am in my craft room
I love colour and inky mess, I am not naturally tidy, I feel comfortable creating  my style of art.
It may not be  what others like...... but .....hey....this is my comfort zone and I'm happy there.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are always welcome here
and I hope you have a good day.

Friday is ....Diary Day

Friday is Diary Day
and here we are with less than  three months left of 2018 .
.
I decided to use  the pre-coloured page as it looked abstract and I knew it would work with  some of my stencils. I used distress oxides   as I could get close matches to the  printed colours.   The center image  was printed onto tissue and  the other additions were stamped
.[Many were All&create stamps].

Thank you for stopping by today, you are always very welcome here.

Autumn Days

My first share today is an Autumn tag for the theme  of Autumn/Halloween over at
I used oxide inks for the background, then random stamped with a selection of well loved and well used leaf stamps. I stamped and fussy cut a few and also cut out  some computer generated ones.
When my lads were small many , many years ago they loved to play in the leaves in the garden, so I added a TH found relative to the leaf pile.
The trimmings were  to hand and I stamped the words.

.....................
.........................

I have just begun to use this mixed media journal,
and for a while I had been wanting to try creating a page in a shorter time.
. Chris if you call in,  I am no good at sticking to 15 minute pages.
Half an hour each page was more like my timing.
As always my desk had assorted bits and pieces  pushed to one side .
While assembling some Halloween bits and pieces I came across some   Crafty Individuals pictures

So the idea for my spread  began. I  rubbed an old ink pad over the corrugated and hessian material to add a warmer colour. Then added some torn left over papers

I began in the morning and took this photo on the left.
By the afternoon when I went in to take  the finished photo, the light had changed and the photo above was the better one of many  to share. Although the colours in real life are  more like this one on the left.

Linda  is hosting this month and chosen the  theme....
Creature Comforts
Warm colours were mentioned as being acceptable also something we are comfortable about. I have to admit to struggling a bit with this one.

So my spread is a tribute to autumn, we will miss the flowers,
the delicate butterflies and  the colours will change .
Lets be thankful that
each new day will bring its own joy and comforts.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, your visit is always very much appreciated.

Black, White and one other colour at TioT's.

The new challenge theme over at

is...... Black. White and one other colour.
Please pop over for all the details and see what the DT have been making,
we hope you will join us there.

I used a large stamp as my main image for this card,  which I  think was from Imagination Crafts.
It was stamped in black and simply layered up.  I added a  sentiment, making this card usable for a number of occasions.
My added colour is  a piece of  rusty red card that I used in the layering.

Thank you for calling in today, your comments are always appreciated.

T day .....Destinations.... Have bag will travel

Recently I was  able to visit the  house in Cockermouth where
William Wordsworth the  poet was born.
 This was somewhere
I had wanted to see for a long while and we were lucky to go on a day when they were using the kitchens to prepare the food on display through the house.

So as its T Day over at Bleubeard and Elizabeths
and we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post
I   will share some photos of the food on display.
Starting off in the kitchen with the cook busy  making her food for the table.

Dining room...... the wine glasses on the table were beautiful

Every thing on display was edible although,as the ingredients used, followed the the old Georgian recipes, no one was allowed to taste anything.
Some things looked  did look rather unpalatable and I enjoyed looking at what was available in those times.
I have more photos to share  with you in another post

Now you may be wondering what my drinks reference is today...
Have bag will travel .... also may have you thinking....what is she on about ....
I have a new shopping bag....

I just couldn't resist buying myself  this and it was at a bargain price as well.
Thank you for calling in today, I hope you have a Happy T day.

We're back to say goodbye.

We're back to say goodbye,
the kids and their dad started off my journal adventure this month, with the theme I chose for September over at........ Art Journal Journey
A world of Fantasy
I'm sure they managed to get their  dad to enjoy some fun as well.

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who  shared their amazing art this past month
and for all the support you gave me for this theme.
Also thank you to Susi and Elizabeth
and  of course Bleubeard  for having me as your guest host this past month.

This page started with a  messy background in my journal. I just splodged on  thick blobs of paint and smooshed it around a bit. Fingers are well suited to this style.

The kids wanted to frame the family photo so they could remember the fun they had., so they asked their favourite toys to create this memory page for them.
Now that's a FANTASY.

I hope you will call into Art Journal Journey
as I will be doing  tomorrow
to find out what the  challenge theme  for October will be.

However you spend today, have a super day.

Fantasy or reality

Fantasy or Reality.
What a super month I have had hosting.... A world of fantasy... over at
I've had a wonderful time visiting every one and seeing all the inspirational pages you have shared,
so with one day to go, this is my page for the 29th.

Water colour wash for the background no brushes used just a scrunched up wipe. Torn up napkins and some JD ladies, these girls 'just wanna have fun'.
The times gone by images were computer generated.
I think they may have had fantasies about living in bygone days, but much prefer the reality of  'now'.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, I will be back again tomorrow to complete my Fantasy theme for September at Art journal journey.
