A Sunny Day in Yorkshire

First of all another page to share with the folk at
and Jo's theme  Flora and Fauna
The flowers across the bottom are paper handkerchief, far to posh to use for its purpose in life.
The large flower is cut from a magazine, the words are computer generated.

I will also join in at
Moo Mania and More
where the theme is ....
Flowers

So how am I getting some journal pages made......
for 4 days there is a big cycle race in Yorkshire,,,,, Le Tour de Yorkshire.
Besides Landrovers this is the second love in my families list of pastimes.
We are staying near Grassington  on a lovely site

This is the fun welcome figure set up by the  site wardens
and there is an abundance of primroses all over the grounds.

So this is us, its a lovely woodland behind  the caravan.
Okay, so I opt to stay home and view the race on TV.
I get to see it all not just when the riders race past
and its over in a flash. As you can imagine I see more than the family this way.
I also get time to play.
A little bit about my caravan stash, bottom right photo on the seat beside me.
Crayons, a few inks  and glue, resting on some old magazines,
the striped  bag contains pencils, my journal diary is underneath this bag.
On the ledge another journal, a folder with a few stamps and another of stencils.
The next two photos are of the pond close to the site entrance,
a beautiful peaceful scene, Nature does share her wonders with us all.

Thank you for stopping by today,  I hope you all have a lovely day.

Nature's Beauty

I have a page to share today for
Jo's theme over at
Flora and Fauna.
I mainly used fussy cut images and a background cut  from a magazine
[an old Daphne's Diary] for this page.
The page was shaded with some distress ink and has some stamped leaves around the edges.
This was quick and fun to make  with my limited  store of items in the caravan.
Thank you for calling in, your visit is always appreciated.

Diary Day week 18...
This weeks diary has been made using some  Jane Davenport tissue pieces .
The base page on the right was blue to begin with  but I did add a colour wash and some stencils to bring the spread together.

Stencils/die cuts or both

The new challenge theme over at Try it on Tuesdays is.....
Stencils/Die Cuts or Both.
Please call over to TioT's to see how we all interpreted the theme
and we hope you will join us there.

This photo shows the double journal spread the base was sprinkled with brusho powder and left mainly white, with a few leaf stamps.
The butterflies were fussy cut.

The flowers and foliage  are TH stencils and die cuts. I used one of his stencils on the left side of the spread, simply shading with distress inks.

After the photos were taken, I couldn't resist adding   a few digital layers to the left corner, this  image of the little girl reading made me think of how children read and discover nature around them.

Thank you for calling in to see me today you are all always welcome here.

I will also join in with friends over at
Art Journal Journey
where Jo  from Lets art Journal is hosting the theme for May.....
Flora and Fauna

Are birds tea drinkers as well?

Hello to everyone who calls in this Tuesday.
I made the journal page today using a base layer  of my own, some  embossed and painted left over papers and topped it off with a piece made in my computer program. So a real mixed /hybrid piece.
As its  T day over at
where we are always welcome.  with a drinks related post, I hope you all keep your cups covered in case out feathered friends may want to join us with a drink..
This is a scheduled post , so I may be late calling  in to see you all today.

Some last photo to share as well of our Abbey visits.
This time the destination was Jedburgh { Link  with more information]

It was a dull damp day, very windy so  our lunch break in a  nice cafe frequented by locals
as well as tourists was a welcome place to stop.

We also had a quick look at..
Mary Queen of Scots House
[Link and link for more info if you were interested]

I managed to get a photo in a similar position to where the artist
had set up his easel to paint this scene.

A trip back in time with these photos and  a copy of the warrant to execute Mary Queen of Scot's.
Also not to be forgotten, a scrap of material that was supposed to be from the gown she wore.
Sir Walter Scott [owner of Abbotsford]  had this in his collection of curiosities.
So here I am back full circle of my trip around the Scottish Borders.

Its the start of a new caravan trip for us today,
I may be late calling in as I don't know how the internet connections will be, I have my fingers crossed they will be okay.

Have a good day everyone.

Off on a bike to Paris..... a recycling collage for AJJ.

 I have   a last page .... for Alison's Recycle/Collage  theme over at
If time had allowed I would have liked to have  made  more this past month.

I have many pieces of napkins, stamped and printed tissue that  maybe should have been thrown away, but, with a recycle theme  at AJJ it was just about finding enough of the pieces, that might  fit  together for the page I had in mind to create.

A little  shading  with  distress ink helped to blend them altogether.  As you can see I also added some other scraps. The tape with the wording had been sent to me by a friend.

I am not happy with the photo as it makes the page look much brighter than it is in real life. However I am not complaining as the sun has been shining for a welcome change here today.

Thank you for calling in, your visit is really appreciated.

Under Cafeine ....Diary day week 17

Friday is Diary Day week 17 .....Under caffeine

Well these two cats look like they have been out partying all night
and really do need a cup of coffee.
I used gesso to cover the colouring in pre- printed page,  I am now on the repeat pages in the diary, so  gesso  will be used quite a bit now.
I used  stencils for the background,  and stamps for the images and words.

Thank you for calling in today. I hope you all have a good weekend.
