Shop collage

I've once again used bits and pieces from my scraps box to create this collage,
some from  G45 papers,  I did have fun fussy cutting a few flying pigs.
I packed a plastic bag of these scraps  to use when I am away in the caravan, a super way to pass the time when it is raining outside.

The theme.... Recycle/ Collage
chose for this month over at
is making me think how I can use up some of my 'stuff' and papers that have been sitting there gathering dust for..........well a very long time.

Thank you for calling, in you are always welcome here

Abbotsford

A journal spread for
and Alison's  theme of Recycle/Collage.

On Thursday we went for a visit to Abbotsford House, the home of Sir Walter Scott and picked up a few freebies about the house.  Keeping these items always seems a good idea at the time, but usually they end up in the recycling bin.
So I decided to create this collage and got out the scissors and the glue stick. I also used a scrap of material from a really good bargain bag  of scraps that I found when we visited a Tartan manufacturers.
So I have recycled some  bits and pieces, and made a memory collage  in my journal.
This is a couple of the photos I took of the house and walled garden.
I will share more when we get back home.

Thank you for calling in today, you are always very welcome here.

Recycle Something....

Recycle something is the new challenge theme at

we have all had fun with this theme and we hope you will join us , we look forward to seeing what you will recycle or give a makeover.

My project wasn't easy  to photograph as it has a small mirror in the center,  this was the best one with a piece of lace cloth  showing in the mirror.

This is another photo where I covered the mirror with a piece of card. The light also gave me problems, so I will leave it to you to  decide which is a better photo

The mirror came from a well known Swedish store and over the years I have altered a few of these items. This one has been propped up in the corner of a bedroom  for ages,  since we changed  the room around.   They start out, plain  and boring [well that's my thoughts]  okay if you like a  minimal look and it did fit in the bedroom at the time.
First I  removed the mirror, then  painted  the surface with    white           gesso .
I used napkin flowers in opposite corners and some random stamping .
Next came the stencils using modelling paste.
To late I remembered I hadn't taken any in between photos, but fun was being had and the camera forgotten.

I then used gilding wax on the raised stencils and kind of smeared the excess over  edges etc. Last of all replace the mirror.

I still have the  first mirror I  recycled hanging in my craft room, this is how it looks.
It was shared  quite a number of years ago.
There is another one here from 2011

So I think you with see that  I  enjoy  altering
mirrors.

Happy Easter everyone

I am sharing this journal page today,  mainly created using a variety of.
napkins. and some paint splashes.   I didn't paint the base and for me there is some white showing, not a lot,  this was a bit of a test as I love to cover all  the background.
 The words were computer generated.

This is my last page for  this month over at Art Journal Journey
where Rosie's theme has been ......Spring

I have also  made this digital tag  which is also sending  Easter wishes.
I will also join in at.......

where the theme  is.... Happy Easter.

and

Tag Tuesday
where the theme is..... Diamonds are Forever.
I hope Mr Bird  gives  his mate  a sparkling diamond for Easter.

I hope you all have a good weekend
and thank you for calling in to see me today.

Notes on my digital work

Him and Her ....Diary day week 13

Diary Day .... week 13
Where is this year going...week 13 and a quarter of the year has flown by.

This is the starter  page in my journal  diary, another grey one.
it didn't help that it was a dull day when I took this photo.
I coloured with pencils, added a couple of  Paper Artsy stamped images together with  a few stencils and extral added colour.
Which gave this page a real messy look, but I have never been a person who  thinks things should always be neat and tidy.

Thank you for calling in today, you are always welcome here.
