Now is the Right Time for Stamps and Stencils

I think time must be realy on my mind this month, without realising  a  coincidence I chose
'Time Flies'
as my theme choice at Stamps and Stencils
for this month.
I hope this scheduled post goes out at the right time.
There are some fantastic takes  made by the girls on the team,  to give us inspiration.
I do hope you will pop over, take a look and read all the details.
We would like  to see clocks/watches/or any other time related element as a main focus.
Also to see some stamps and stencilling as we are a mixed media group.

As you can see I made a journal page, with lots of random stamping, next it was colour washed with Old paper and Shabby Shutters Distress stains.
Added texture using modelling paste mixed with some Golden Glass bead gel  and a Tim Holtz clock stencil. . Some  places I rubbed over with gold gilding wax.
Click the photo for a better view].

I managed to get a reasonable close up photo, where you can see  some of the crackle paste I added to the clock.
The butterfly is a die cut gifted to me by a craft friend. There are also added texture to the page where I have just sprinkled with Frantage embossing powers and let it blow where it wanted to go when I used the heat gun.  The main image is a Stampers Anonymous stamp, fussy cut. Other items came from my stash.

I will also be adding this page to Art Journal Journey,  if I have an internet connection today

Thank you all for stopping by to take a look, The comments you leave me, I realy appreciate.

Time Lost

A digital collage journal page for
Art Journal Journey

Theme for August is....... Time

This collage was made using  My Craft Studio program.
With some images I had stored and from a few craft CD' s.

Don't we often  think  that the time has flown by and wonder where it went.
When we are young time seems to stand still, its only as we get older that we appreciate each day.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Stencils

The new challenge at Try it on Tuesdays is
Stencils
Add a stencil to your project and come and join the fun.
All the details are here and you will see how we all interpreted this theme.

Lots of journal pages from me during this month, so this is how the base looked before added a few bits and pieces.
A colour wash painted background and of course a bit of random stamping.
Next the stencil one of Sheena's/
On the right , I simply used  Hickory Smoked distress ink.
Flipped over the stencil onto the left.
I wanted to get the illusion that it was a narrowing street, it did sort of work out but I am not stressing over it.
This side I used  a mix of paint, Glass Bead gel and some modelling paste, to get a bit of texture.

A quick look in the bits box and this is  the  end result.

This little bird will also be flying over to
  Art Journal Journey.
where the theme is Time.
He has his pocket watch and will be timing the journey.

Thank you for calling to see me today, I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Secrets and mystery for AJJ

This is the first of the digital pages I will be sharing during this month.
Made for the  'Time ', theme at

The backgrounds and overlays  were created in my M.C.S. program.
I found  these words on a quotes site, I have looked and saved quite a few recently,
so not sure where I found this one.

'There are no secrets that time does not reveal.
Joan Racine

I thought it went so well with this image from Crafters Companion [Kimomo].
She looks so coy and mysterious, I hope time does reveal her secrets.

Thank you for calling to see me and taking time to leave a comment.

Time to Smell the flowers for AJJ

A random stamped background and a few mop up swipes of paint were the starting point for this page.
I never waste paint and always  have a few pages good to go.
The clock  stamps are all unmounted  from a variety  of makers.
I also used an old clock stencil to frame the central clock face.
The flowers were from a Tim Holtz set, which I water coloured.

My second page for the Time theme at......
Art Journal Journey

Thank   you for calling by, I appreciate all the comments you leave for me.

Time -- for Art Journal Journey

Today I can  share a secret I have been keeping for a few months.
Valerie and Susi asked me if I  would like to be a  Guest Hostess  during  August at......

Art Journal Journey.

There was only one answer and that was,  yes, I could even pick out a theme,
the theme I chose was 'Time'.
Thank you both for the invitation and the inspiration that can be found at  AJJ

This page started off by being painted with Distress Stains Shabby Shutters and Old Paper.
A bit of random stamping with some old unmounted rubber clock and word stamps.
The large clock was a stencil, I mixed modelling paste with some of the distress ink
until I was happy with the colour.
The girl flying through time was gifted to me by a crafting friend.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look,
I will be posting  many more 'Time', theme journal pages during this month,
the comments you leave are always appreciated

Post a memory for AJJ

There is still another few days  for the theme of
'Post....postage',  to run at Art Journal Journey.
One of the things I enjoy about this blog  is that I can  be myself, no pressure, go with the flow and have fun.
So another page to share, the base was a piece of paper pre-printed with post small cards,
this I gave a light covering with watered down gesso.
My usual bit of random stamping using whatever was lying on the desk at the time.
I had to use my all time favourite image of the vintage wedding couple [Queens Dresser Drawers].
Stencils and a bit of texture came next [Tim Holtz and Andy Skinner].
The postage stamps I had were modern ones and an old rubber stamp,
but hey, this is just my way of relaxing enjoying being creative.
I know I have some old ones somewhere, but why get stressed.
Now I must face having a bit of a tidy up  in my craft room, the desk is covered with clutter,
there is only a tiny space left to work in and I need to unearth the tweezers .
Very handy to hold the pieces ,when heat embossing, save burning the fingers.

Thank you for stopping by to see what I have been making.
I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.
