Love is in the air..... ....

Love is in the air
is the new challenge theme  at

Please pop over and see the way  we all interpreted the theme and we hope you will join us  there.
I needed an anniversary card and decided to use  this pair of found relatives
  to represent the happy couple.
This was mounted onto a partially  embossed piece of card  that had been coloured and splashed with
pale oxide inks.   The next  layer was stamped around the edges. It ended up being an 8 x 8 inch card.
a good job that it was being hand delivered.
................................................

I think you all know that  I also love to alter my makes in  a computer program.
This way I can store and  save versions of pieces that I have sent to friends.

You cannot help but notice that this involves a cuppa  close by.... .
So hello friends over at

When I work at the computer my cup is always on the left, out of harms way as I use the keyboard.

It does take a long while to create the computer versions,  I can quite easily pass a couple of hours on the same piece and go back later in the day after giving my eyes a rest. I have added  a picture of my cup stand as well, going back to the days when I used to  do cross stitch work as a way of relaxing after a day at work.

Finally here is the happy couple, picked out from the background of the card, you can still see a little of the original embossing  behind them. Then added to layers of papers and images so I can store them in my digital journal.
I have been asked about my hybrid journal pages and what the word means to me.
Well,  for me its using something I have made,
as a hands on piece or project.
This could be a complete piece or just the base layers  from one of my journals.
I use the photos I have taken of the piece in the digital program I work in [see my sidebar].
Altering and playing with the photos, adding extra details and images.
Then, when I am happy with the result they are stored on my computer.
For me its all about having fun and creating  art.
Some days  I find it hard to grip a brush or cut with scissors, but I can still be creative. its amazing what  you can  produce using  a couple of fingers and the keyboard of my trusty computer.

Thank you all for calling in today, your visit is always very much appreciated.

Your digital piece is really beautiful too, the flowers in the background layered with the text is amazing 😁. Your pretty apple and blackberry mug caught my eye and what an adorable cross stitch coaster you created. 12. Your card itself is wonderful and I love your hybrid art as you already know and I am with you about making digital art with own handmade things - we should find for this extra special hybrid art an own special name soon.
And yes - I can also get lost in making this pieces.I am not as good as you but I enjoy it a lot and it's so fun too. And you should also tell somebody who asks you about this kind of art - that you are able to print it out to make it possible to touch and feel as well, if you want. What a fantastic option?!
I am a big fan of your makes always and this fabulous page is no exception!
Your cross stitched cup stand is so lovely ! It reminds me that I want to make some mug rugs for myself for when I have my glasses or cups here at the worktable where also my computer is. And my drink-glass is also always on the left - I don't know why... I am right-handed?!
Life is about finding people who are your kind of crazy!

Happy T-Day and happy Try It On Tuesday!!!

  14. Your card is beautiful and I know it will be appreciated by the recipient ♥ Love all of the little details. One of these days I am going to have to tackle learning digital art. It scares me :) and intrigues me at the same time.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. Visits are always appreciated.

  15. I love your hybrid piece as much as I love thehand-made one.- I agree with Susi that we should have a special word for tha.
I also have my cup on the left as I am right handed. It would not be the first keyboard that gets wet....

  19. I realize I'm late visiting. I was up all night and slept in today.

That card is fabulous. It is very romantic and nostalgic. I think it is perfect for TioT's love theme.

I adore the way you save your art to your computer for later use. I really wish I had your computer skills. I have tried a couple of times and it takes so long, I get bored and move on to something I can cut out of a magazine. But the images are never as ethereal as they are when layered in a graphics program.

Your little cross stitch mouse is cute, and your butterfly tea mug is perfect for today. Thanks for sharing your digital/hybrid skills and techniques, as well as your tea with us for T this Tuesday.

  20. Just beautiful! I love that photograph. It looks so lovely on the card and the journal page. I find it fascinating how you use your images for more than one project. They are each so different but have a common denominator. Love it!
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

The feather is a great touch and the flowers on the digital page really makes it feel like spring. :) I love reading about your hybrid page making too. It's fascinating to see how people approach things as we all do things just a bit different. And it is a beautiful mug too. :) happy T day. Hugs-Erika

  27. Love this romantic card and your hybrid page is just as beautiful! I am far too clumsy to have a drink near the computer! I suppose it's good to have to get up and fetch it though so I don't really mind (she says, trying to convince herself!) I love the little mouse mat too! I would have commented sooner but we have been away to our caravan and the connection was dreadful! Belated Happy T day! Hugs, Chrisx

  28. Sorry to be so late, Yvonne, ... busy week. Lovely anniversary card.

Thanks for sharing your computer process. I've often wondered. It seems that your definition of hybrid is the reverse of what most people do, which is create digital backgrounds or embellishments, then print them and use in a hard copy card or page. That's why I didn't quite get what you were doing.

I know about losing sense of time when working on a computer design. When I switched to paper scrapbooking and card making, I missed the abiity to undo and keep changigng things around. Now I appreciate what a timesaver that is! lol.

Darling cross stitch coaster. That would make me smile every time I lifted my cup.

The hybrid journal page is gorgeous! The flowers in the background are just perfect.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
