The penguins story

I have made another page in my journal using a tissue napkin. with these lovely penguins on it.
I will be linking with Art Journal Journey
and Erika's theme of Tell me a Story......

The background was a mop up page  with some smeared about thick acrylic white paint. fingers and an old plastic card worked a treat.
It took quite a while to dry. It was finished off using my computer program.

I

There has been so much on our TV's and in the Press about Global Warming, it does make me think about how we can protect our wild animals for future generations as well as ourselves
Then, I did ponder on  what the animals would say to us, if they could only talk.
Maybe they wonder how they can reclaim their own territory
and still  be able to feel  safe there at the same time.
Not all stories have happy endings  and I think we may never hear the end of this one in a way that will be acceptable to all living creatures

Anyway, my penguins are happy .
They have just returned home after a holiday in Africa and have some photos for the family album.
They  agreed it was good to get back to the cooler climate, away from the heat they had on holiday.

Thank you for calling in to see me today.
You are very welcome here

  2. I think you are so right when you say don't change the world. It often seems like when we change the world we only make it worse. If only we could do some good. I love you story about the penguins coming home from their African holiday. :) Glad you joined us again at AJJ. Hugs-Erika

  3. I love your penguins and their happy ending. I agree that not all stories will end nicely. I worry about the polar bears, whose lives are being threatened because they have no place to hibernate in the winter. I worry about the whales and dolphin, too. So, that is a conversation I would gladly share with you. But for now, I'll just enjoy this lovely penguin entry.

  7. Your Art journal page is just GORGEOUS Yvonne !! Love your penguins family, and the way you see life too. Nowaday it´s very difficult to preserve all the animals in world, but, I firmely believe that is not impossible, we only need to want it, specially politicians and big firms/enterprises could if they wanted. We also can actuate from the first steps. I wish you a very happy day, hugs. Caty

  8. I really hope that all penguins, not just yours, will get a happy ending. I agree that if only the political will was there, it could be possible, but mankind has to stop regarding financial reward as the chief guiding principle of its collective actions. The world makes me very unhappy at the moment, but your page is a bright spot. I'm very happy they enjoyed their holiday, but are still happy to be home.

  11. Your traveling penguin family is precious and very adventurous too!
Here in the US many are more concerned than ever about global warming (praying that the next 4 years will not take us back in time).
Your lovely page and sentiments really speak to me Yvonne.

  15. Beautiful piece Yvonne and you sure hit a button with me today with your thoughts. I think that if animals could talk, our opinions of ourselves would plummet and we would weep. Through the eyes of an animal, WE are the invasive species, and how I wish with every fibre of my being that we would realize that. Well I better stop while I'm ahead, lol. I love your use of the napkin, such a clever idea! hugs :)

  18. ahhh that was a lovely story and post Yvonne. Fabulous page again - using another lovely napkin... you certainly have the napkin knack :)
I have to agree with what Pamellia said about if animals could speak... but then people don't treat each other nice a lot of the time either do they, so the poor animals don't stand a chance :(
