Notes and reflections on Tea day

[This is how the  journal page , you can see  in my TioT's  post later today  was finished.]

But I will start by saying Hello to all the folk from....

................and friends who call in to share a cuppa today.
Happy New Year wishes to you all,

I was using Napkins for my DT project and as there were  4 lovely deer images to each napkin ,
I decided to use one to make a page in the journal.

For sure there was cuppa, close to hand as I got started with the stencils and the vintage Photo distress ink .

At this stage I wasn't too sure  about how I wanted it to look, so after the photo was taken I went off to the computer for a bit of digital inspiration, also to add a few word..

Yes, by now the tea was stone cold, but habit  had me take to cup with me.

A year ago if anyone asked me about digital crafting,
I think I would have said,  I wasn't  happy with how it worked for me.
But,  months later, I have to tell you that.  I did try,
I  got out of my comfort zone and now,   thoroughly enjoy creating digital pieces.
On the days when my hands  declare they won't grip stuff.
I can count on a couple of the fingers still willing to press the keyboard
and move the mouse on the computer.
So, note to self,  I will  remember,  it will  never work, if you don't keep trying..

Happy Tea Day.
For digital information

  1. Wonderful journal page, and wise words. I am happy too that I can still create digitally although my hands don't always cooperate for other things. Happy T Day, hugs, Valere

  3. I can truly relate to hands not able to grip. That's yet another reason why I need to learn to use my digital software. I think this is brilliant. Your words of wisdom, both on the page and part of your blog post, speak volumes. Of course, I can relate to cold tea, as I can to cold coffee. Your lovely journal page goes so well with your cold tea that you shared with us for T this Tuesday. You have put into words what I often feel, but am unable to attain.

  4. This page is truly beautiful! I love the words you added. I am lucky that at the moment I only have arthritis in my toes (although this can cause problems on long walks) The cold tea?….substitute that for coffee…yes I do know all about that!! Happy T Day! Hugs, Chrisx

  5. I always enjoy your hybrid pages. It's good to have a secondary way of creating, and your practice always pays off!

  7. Yes, that is so true. I need to be reminded to get out of my comfort zone. I used to be very adventurous, but since I retired I prefer familiar things. You have reminded me that there is a world of different things out there. Thanks.
What a beautiful page though with the deer.
Happy New Year and happy T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  10. Beautiful journal page Yvonne!
    Wise words too.
Brings to mind the old saying: Nothing ventured...nothing gained.
Napkins are great collage ingredients and your deer is gorgeous.
Happy First T Day of 2017

  11. Such a gorgeous page Yvonne! The deer image is adorable and I love the way napkins melt into the page, on first glance I thought it was painted especially with the way you created the background with page pieces and the stencil - so very beautiful! I love the sentiment too, such great words to start the New Year, here's to experimenting and trying new things :-). Wishing you a Happy T Day! J :-)

  12. Wonderful post Yvonne and once again I love what you have created with those beautiful napkins.
Love the quote on your page and one I will try to remember :)
I'd be lost without digital creations too on days my hands play up-who ever it was that created the software was a genius!

  13. Wise words. I love your attitude. Never say never, just keep moving forward. I carry a notebook in my purse with the "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." I bought it for the quote, not the notebook! You made a beautiful page of it, Yvonne.

I traveled the opposite direction. I started with digital scrapbooking, loved it and thought I'd never want to deal with the mess and supply mountains of paper scrapbooking or mixed media. Now I love them all. That's what can happen when we step outside our comfort zones ;-)

Happy T Day and Happy New Year! XOX, Eileen

  18. Wonderful journal page and an important lesson. As to creating digital art, a computer is just another tool in your tool box. Happy T Day!
