Are we nearly there? for AJJ

This digital page is for
Mary C. Nasser is the hostess this month and has chosen.... Maps.... as the theme.

We are now nearly  home with the caravan and the Land Rover.
These past few days have been rather wet, but didn't stop us from doing the things we had planned . The last three days in Cambridge
had us visiting the Air Museum, and the American War Memorials.
Lots of photos will follow when I get them sorted.
I remember well when the lads were small how they always used to ask  if we were, 'nearly there'.
Now its them driving  us on our journey home.
How times change.
The map of Northumberland is an vintage one, this is our destination, but not Alnwick.

Thank you for visiting me, I will be grabbing a coffee and catching up with everyone in the next couple of days.

  3. This is another clever page Yvonne. I love the vintage image you added in. Can't wait to see your photos from your journey. It sounds like you had a great time and saw some interesting things. The weather is beyond our control and it bugs me when people are stopped on a vacation from visiting places when it rains. I guess the beach might be out though. Enjoy what's lft to your weekend. 9. What a cute piece for the theme. Love the children in it. And you mention the Land Rover. I had one of the English ones....not the new fancy one but the kind with the 4 fold up seats in the back. It was my treasure...blue and white. One of my neighbors had a green one and another a real station wagon. They were so cool. They have all gone to the CAR HEAVEN IN THE SKY...SO SAD. You are just so creative the way you put your pages together. I love them. genie

  12. Oh Yvonne, this is simply INCREDIBLE. I love the two boys on their bikes, as well as the map in the background.

I can't wait to see photos from Cambridge. What I know about Cambridge I have seen on TV, specifically Morse, and all the Morse offshoots (Endeavor and Lewis). I simply adore seeing Cambridge on TV, so look forward to seeing your photos, too!

  13. Goodness. I'm not awake. Morse was from Oxford, not Cambridge. Not sure why I thought that when I read Cambridge, but I'm sure I've seen it on TV a lot.

  17. Oh that old refrain - glad to hear the trip has been going well - I'm guessing you must be "there" by now, and I'm looking forward to seeing some more photos of the big adventure. I love the vintage boys though I'm not sure the eggy penny farthings would be very comfortable to ride! A really charming page.

  22. Your collage represents beautifully those sweet boyhood days gone all too soon.
Just when you think you can't stand to hear the "are we there yet" question one more time they're all grown up and out on their own :-)
When we were lucky enough to tour the UK a couple of years ago and really enjoyed our visit to Alnwick. We even learned how to pronounce it properly and decided that's how the locals must weed out the tourists ;-).
