We do ask that you remember to show us some stamping in your entry.

First of all the cover was painted with  cream acrylic matt emulsion tester pots from DIY shops are great for this. Then the Distress inks blended over the surface, shabby shutters, peeled paint and wild honey.
The background stamping is a selection of clock images by Paper Artsy.
The Sizzix die cut clock Tick Tock] was covered with Yorkshire Dales flakes [from Indigo Blu].
Sitting on the clock pointer is an image from Stampotique, she looks quite comfortable to me.

Wishing You

This week at Sugar Creek Hollow our new Challenge theme is 'Vintage Animals or Animal Scenes.
Please pop over and see what we have all been making, and get all the details.
We would love you to join in and look forward to visiting your blogs.

As you know our style is Vintage.Shabby chic, I was realy struggling to think of what to make, that would fit the theme. It was my OH who pointed me in the direction of my Craft CD's and to this one from Crafters Companion, 'The Tales of Beatrix Pottter. I found myself spoilt for choice, I loved reading these stories to my own family and to the infants in school.
I think I could suggest that this is a Christmas scene, with the rabbits walking in the snow.
Look close and you can just see the Frantage embossing with iced glass fragments  I added to frame my scene.
The backing paper layers are all from a variety of CDs, trimmings as usual came from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I appreciate you calling.
This is a scheduled post and I hope it appears at the right time and day.

Calendar for September

I am late in showing you the Fat Pages [4 x 4inches] Calendar that  I made  for the  September swap with my friend..
May be this  was lucky as it will also fit the theme for  Challenge 13  at Artful Times, which is  'A Tree as the Main Focus.'

The colouring is all distress inks, dried marigold, peeled paint, tumbled glass.

The stamps are all Crafty Individuals , I used  Coffee Archival ink to stamp these up. adding a wooden leaf  layered on mesh and felt material scraps..
.
This is the other side of the page, the background, made with a leaf embossing folder and coloured with the same distress ink colours.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look. Your comments are always appreciated.

Stitches and Lace.

Challenge 75 at Crafty Cardmakers and our theme is Stitching and Lace, hosted by Lyn.

Our sponsors for this challenge is Hobby Craft , , there are some gorgeous stamps for our winner this time.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making.

I chose to make an Easel card, using Graphics45 papers for the the base and the die cut shape.
This shape of card was not easy  photograph.
Two layers of material came next , joined together with a simple running stitch.
The  machine embroidered flower for the centre and  on the step  were  just glued in place.
Lace is one of my favourite things to add , where to put the bow took the most time when making this card ,
Not sure even now that its in the right place.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I always appreciate your comments.

This is the small shrine that I made.

A few coats of acrylic paint on the wood pieces, they look a bit shabbier in real life than in this photo.
The papers and images  are all from Graphics 45 Curtain Call collection..
It wouldn't be me without the addition of a bit of Tea Dye distress ink to tone the colour down.

'Good Things Come in Small Packages', is our new Challenge them over Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making. We hope you will join us, but ask you to remember that we like to see stamping on your project .

As you can see from the tape measure my project is quite small and have to say was a bit fiddly to make, but I realy enjoyed trying something different.

The outside covers of my Concertina Book started life as two Mahjong tiles, they were covered with a few layers of Shabby Pink  Frantage embossing powder and are quite  textured to the touch.

For the inside I used a variety of stamps  by Pink Paislee and Creative Expressions.

The colouring is water colours, Distress inks, Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet and  Tea dye.

Other challenges I will be entering are-
In the Pink Challenge- Pink and Anything but Square.
Moving Along with the Times -Christmas Gifts.  This small item will be going with other gifts to a friend

Fabrics

Another week flown by and time to tell you about our new Challenge for this week at Sugar Creek Hollow.
The theme is 'Fabric', you can use any fabric, but, no ribbon or lace.
Please pop over for all the details and see the fabulous examples my team mates have been making.
Remember our style is vintage/shabby chic.

I have used a patterned cotton for one of my layers with a piece of muslin behind the picture of the girl.
These are frayed at the edges as I am not that handy with the sewing machine. It is sitting on a shelf and one day I might surprise myself and give it an airing.
For the flowers I ironed the fabric scraps onto a no-sew material, this helped to stop fraying when I put them through the die cutting machine. I used the Tattered floral Tim Holtz Alterations die.
The swirls were cut out of grey card, it proved impossible to get material ones cut that kept any sort of shape. Trimmings are a materials from my scraps and bits box.

I am also entering  the challenges over at
Fussy and Fancy- Challenge 71 'Fabric of our Lives.
Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge Recipe 88  is  Vintage toy colour. I hope the reds and maybe the greys  I used match colours from the chart

Thank you for stopping by, all your comments are appreciated.

Inchies

This started life as a ' Post-It ' pad.  Its a good job  you cannot see inside as it is the most hideous shade of Green and hard to get a photo.
Challenge 12 at Artful times this week is Inchies.
I've not made any of these for ages.
So I first of all made the tile, using Dylusions sprays for colouring then  when dry stamped on an Indigo Blue stamp of a bird.  I then  glazed it over with a few layers of clear embossing powder.
After looking at the inch square and wondering what to do with it, I decided to use it on this cover.
Which is a piece of pretty paper with  a couple of die cut flowers as layers, together with a few additions  that I had lying in my bits and pieces box.
Other shading is Tea Dye distress ink.
It is now beside the phone, for the time I may need to write a message.
Now I'd better find a pen to put beside it.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, your comments are always appreciated.

                                          Di's Digi Downloads

This time I decided to make a Tag.
I used Tim Holtz die for the bird cage, trimmed it with buttons.
The bird and background stamping are Pink Paislee stamps.
The ticket is a Stampers Anonymous stamp.
All the colours used are Distress inks, Spun Sugar, Peacock Feathers and Peeled Paint.
It doesn't show so well but I highlighted areas and edges with Shabby Pink embossing powder from Stampendous.

School Days.

'Vintage School Days', is our new   Challenge theme  for this week over at Sugar Creek Hollow.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making.
Remember we like to see your entries in a Vintage/Shabby Chic style.

I have been enjoying making cards using Graphics45 papers recently.  This card is another where I didn't reach out for the Stamps. It was asking too much not to use distress inks, so the extra shading is once again Tea dye.  All the papers  and image came from the ABC Primer pad., with lace etc. from my stash.

I will also  be entering this card into -
Out of a Hat Creations -Favourite technique or Product.
I am hooked on Graphics 45 papers as they suit the vintage/aged/collage styles that I love to make
