Bird Man

Another wet day here in the UK, so what better thing to do than get inky in the craft room.
The background and metal embellishment  for this tag were made following the instructions found in Tim Holtz's Compendium of Curiosities Vol 2 - page 58,  Faux Patina . It is part of the challenge rules that I cannot explain how I made it.
The main colouring are Wild Plum and Stream, alcohol inks with Antique linen distress ink on the image.
The stamps used  are from a Paper Artsy plate.

Out of the box

Fancy Folds is the current Challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow . This got me thinking so much 'outside the box', that I decided to make one
. A good while ago my friend Caz  showed me how to make a box using two sheets of square paper.
Some pretty paper, a little measuring and cutting,  then  a few folds is all it takes.

For this box the panels and sides  have been randomly stamped  using an old Poppy and  well used script stamps. All the trimmings are from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate your comments.

Pretty on Pink

Our new theme at Fashionable Stamping Challenges is 'Embossing, wet/dry'. We would like to see your stamping as well. Please pop over and see what my super team mates have been making and get all the details for the challenge.

As you can see a couple of my layers are Dry Embossed.
The flower stamp is  from a set by Nantucket.
I used some Woodware embossing power, for this part of the card.
Its got no name but comes from a set of pastel colours.
The flowers were coloured with water colour paints.
All the shading is Tattered Rose Distress ink, with a little Shabby Shutters on the edge of the card.
Other items used were Nesties for layering Memory Box Butterfly die and some lace.
I can see new changes have been happening in Blogland  while I've been away, so I think I will be feeling my way around yet again for a few days.

Man and his bicycle.

First of all appologies if I don't get to visit you all in the next few days. The internet connection is not good where we are staying, to many hills and valleys, I think.

All the men in my family love cycling. I wonder how they would have managed to ride one of these.
The image is a Chocolate Baroque stamp. All the others are Stampers Anonymous and my favourite script stamp.
One of the layers is embossed with cogs and wheels.
Shading is vintage photo and antique linen distress inks.
Challenges I will be entering are -
Cheerful Stamp Pad -challenge 40  From the Past

Pampered Pets

'Pampered Pets' is this weeks  new challenge theme  over at Try It on Tuesdays.
Please pop over and see what my team mates have been making and get all the details.

As you can see, I have my own pampered pet Meg,  Meggymay is her full name, but is only used on High days and holidays now. It was used quite a bit when she was younger and up to mischief.
The background  of the tag  was sponged with Wild Honey, Broken china distress stains and a rose Starburst stain. These I daubed onto my craft mat  and blotted up with a dried out baby wipe to use as a sponge.
I used a Studio490 stamp for the embossing , it was a Woodware powder, the colour unknown.
The Leaf swirl is a Memory Box die, with the other additions coming from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate your comments.

Imagination

I'll take your word for it- is the new challenge theme at Frilly and Funky,
The  background on my tag has come from a large piece I made a few days ago, when I libereally sponged a card with  Broken China and Wild Honey  distress stains, then sprayed it with Starburst  stains [pink].  The stamps are Stampers Anonymous and the words are favourites of mine.
The die cuts are by Memory Box.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, your comments are always appreciated.

'Nautical' , is our new  theme over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges  for this coming fortnight.
We hope you will join us, please pop over,  have a look at what we have been making and get all the details. Remember we like to see stamping on your entry.
For my card I used  stamps  by Crafty Individuals.
When I decided to layer some of the images, I wish I hadn't chosen the Galleon, it was a bit of a pain to cut, so don't look to closely.
All the colouring and shading is Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky distress inks.
The knots are a Sheet Bend, Clove Hitch and a Reef Knot, all remembered from my Girl Guide days many, many, moons ago. They are layered on an embossed panel, the Seagull on the top is a Chocolate Baroque stamp.

I am entering this card in the current Challenge at Lets Ink it Up which is 'Distressing'.

Thank you for stopping by, I realy appreciate your comments.

Thinking of Summer

Snow again for a couple of days in my part of the UK, so what better to think about  than summer.
I searched out my Darkroom door stamps, this image of the bike propped against the tree is a favourite of mine. We used the cycle quite a bit in summer when on family holidays.  The only addition to the image is a touch of antique linen distress ink.
The base layer is from  Prima  Moulin Rouge collection. Another layer is a piece of linen.
The die cuts are Memory Box and were sent to me by  a friend who doesn't blog.
To finish, I added a strip of open weave calico, satin ribbon and lace.

Challenge entered -
Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog April Challenge--'Ribbons and Lace'.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

Diesel Punk

Well, I know you cannot see the hair for the hat and goggles, but I will leave that to your imagination.
I have used stamps by the Artistic Outpost again, I think this image is kind of cute and he goes so well this the bike. The images were water coloured using cosmic shimmer paints.
The background wall was daubed  with distress inks before it went through the embossing folder.
Challenges entered-
Make My Monday , the challenges this month have been chosen by Caz and the theme is Men and Boys. This week it's 'Wheels'.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I always appreciate your comments.

All sewn up

Another  card made using  from elements  from a CD.
The current challenge theme  at CD Sunday is 'All Sewn Up'.
I used  Debbie Moore's  Shabby Chic Haberdashery. Adding  a button, some ribbon and a piece of open weave mesh. Hope this was allowed .
CD crafting is not as easy as some may think, in fact if stamping and inky fingers  is your first love, as it is mine. I would say this is quite hard.. I would have loved to reach out and do a bit of distressing with inks on this one, but resisted the temptation.
Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I always appreciate your comments.
